Across the Spiderverse was so good
[image description: A stylized portrait of Hobie Brown from Across the Spiderverse. The figure is drawn from the chest up and looking to the right of the frame. The picture is drawn with halftone patterns to look like old newsprint and comic books. The background is patterned with dots, news print and a lightening bolt shape. There are vertical cut out news print letters on the left of the frame that say “A. C. A. B.”]

I love watching the adult Yellowjackets make decisions. I do. The suspicious guy that you've been seeing gets a little too close for comfort? Kill him. Feeling threatened by a former classmate that you were stranded out in the Wilderness with? Threaten them more! Don't trust your friends? Hire someone to stalk them! Being stalked? Lock her in your basement, pry information out of her, and then kill her. Feeling powerless? Start a cult! Never move on! Because here's the thing: none of them have ever moved on. They can't. They can try, they can pretend, they can even do it convincingly for a time, but we see how it ends: a group of women, a playing card, and a hunt that didn't end just because they made it out of the woods. Because they didn't make it out of the woods. They brought it back with them
So are their decisions silly? Isn't it strange that they'd jump back into the Wilderness shit when they get back together? No, not at all. Because this is what they know. I bet these women go back there most days, most nights. They may have made it out of the Wilderness alive, but all of them died in a way out there. All of them are just teenage girls that were never allowed to grow up, and none of them have taken the time to process that, it seems. I love getting to see that through the decisions they make.

when is comes to asexuality and aromanticism you have to be okay with contradiction. one ace person will say asexuality is about not experiencing attraction, another will say it’s about not caring to act on attraction, another will say it’s not experiencing arousal. one aromantic will consider themself queer, one won’t. two people with seemingly identical experiences will use two different labels. aro people will be in romantic relationships, ace people will have sex. you get it.
