Reid: Are you and Asher busy today??

Reid: If so, I very much understand.

Lindsey: Merry Christmas Eve!

Lindsey: I am so sorry I am just getting back to you, my phone got shut off.

Lindsey: What are you doing for actual Christmas? You are more than welcome to come over.

Reid looked at her and shook her head. “No, after you left I kinda went into a dark place.” He admitted. “You were like the only one who didn’t pity me because of the bullshit my dad put me through.”

Lindsey frowned slightly, tucking her head under Reid’s jaw and giving his arm a squeeze. She let the thought turn to action and a few words. “I’ve never really stopped caring about you. There’s something special about first loves. - Thank you for coming out here.” She whispered.

“You don’t think Blair can live one night without you?” Brandon asked. “You’re welcome, hell you know I’m always down for hanging out with you.”

“I would hope so!” Lindsey shrugged, “I never know. I don’t want to toot my own horn but - I am pretty good at my job.” She laughed. “Likewise. How about next week we go present shopping or something?”

Reid smiled when he saw the ornament and looked at her. “You know, you’re the only girl I ever actually made a gift for.” He admitted to her. 

She traced around the middle circle with her thumb before pressing it into Reid’s palm. “Was I? I find that hard to believe, you were always so thoughtful when it came to gift giving. There wasn’t or isn’t now another girl after me who gives you ‘butterflies’?”

“Well work isn’t planing a Christmas party I however, am thinking of having a small get together with some friends on Christmas Eve. Food, drinks, kid friendly too so you can bring Asher.”

“Are you? That sounds like fun, I will have to see what my night looks like when it gets closer? I have a feeling there is going to be something going on Waldorf Design related and I will probably be needed. But thank you for the invite.”

Reid smiled when he saw Lindsey blush. Even though he hadn’t thought about her in years, he could still feel a spark between them but wasn’t going to say anything. At least not yet. Looking at the pictures he let out of a laugh. “Look  like he likes the icing on his face more than the gingerbread houses.”

Laughing, Lindsey nodded. “He gets more actually into his mouth now. It saves me a little time when it’s all over and there are dishes to be done.” She leaned in close to Reid and grabbed something from the box, smiling thoughtfully. “The little snowman ornament you made me in art class, Ash loved it. He still does. It stays on the tree and out of his mouth now though.”

“Even if I hadn’t made you a milf, I’d still think that.” Reid said with a shrug and laughed. “Do you think the cat would be biased towards you or to Asher?”

Lindsey blushed again, her inner child still in love with the idea of her first love. “Oh god. Probably Asher.” She flipped through the photo album again and found a spread of past gingerbread houses Asher had made. “Kid is a whiz with icing.”

“I’m doing good.” Brandon said with a shrug. “Nothing too exciting has been happening with me to be honest.”

“Nothing? I find that hard to believe, you are far from boring. Work isn’t planning some big Christmas thing?”

“Really? Linds, you’re a fucking milf.” Reid complimented her and chuckled. “Well I can be as impartial as possible.” He shrugged.

“Says the guy who made me a milf!” Lindsey laughed and nudged him playfully. “Good, ‘cuz I was one competition away from getting a cat for a judge.”

“Bryce is an asshole, that’s how he knew that Reid had at least a child.” Brandon said. “How is Asher adjusting to having Reid is his life?”

“Clearly.” Lindsey almost laughed, “it’s kind of awkward? It was just the two of us for so long so I get it - but I think he’s excited. Just doesn’t want me to see how much. How are you though? I feel like we haven’t talked in months.”

Reid smiled when he saw the pictures and looked at her. “Pajamas on Christmas Eve that’s cute.” He said with a nod. “Was that the last time he was in your bed?” He asked with a chuckle. “I’d like the three of us starting something. I hope Asher is okay with it.”

“Last time I had anyone in my bed.” Lindsey admitted, her cheeks going pink. “We’ll have to see?” She cleared her throat, “he is so used to it being just the two of us. I think he would like the idea of a impartial judge for the gingerbread decorating contest.”

“You’re talking about Reid right?” Brandon asked and looked at Lindsey. “How’s that going? How’d he take being a father? I mean, I know Bryce let it out of the bag that he had a kid and he wasn’t too happy about that but I don’t know who would be happy finding out that they had a child after sixteen years.”

“Yup. It’s still really new, we’re figuring it out together.” Her eyebrows shot up when Brandon said Bryce had said something to Reid. “Bryce what? And how the hell did he know? - God; I guess I really need to read Gossip Girl? How else do I keep up on this shit?”

Reid looked at Lindsey and laughed. “I’m sure whoever he dates he’ll know how to treat well. You are the one that raised him.” He said. “What do you think of spending Christmas together?” He asked her. “It can be the three of us together or the three of us and whatever friends Asher wants to invite over too. I don’t know if you guys have any traditions, but mine is just…hanging out with some guys and drinking at night.”

Lindsey smiled softly before dropping down on the cushion next to Reid. “Honestly? I wouldn’t mind that at all.” She reached across his lap and flipped through the photo album until she found Christmas 2009. “I have always bought new pajama’s for him to open on Christmas eve, and let him sleep in bed with me. He stopped asking when he turned 13 but I woke up that year with him in his usual spot,” she laughed. “Well, we could start something? The three of us?”

“Gossip Girl had nothing planned for Thanksgiving. The dinner was mine and Blair’s idea. It is her favorite holiday after all so we decided to take it back and throw a party for everyone.” Chuck said. “I hope you and your son had fun at the party, Lindsey.”

“She has something cooking, always does.” Lindsey pursed her lips with a shrug. “Is it? I learned early on that she really liked it but had no idea it was her favorite. It was lovely! Thank you for the invite. It beat any rushed thing that I had planned. I take you you guys go all out for Christmas too?”

“Let me take you out to lunch, as a thank you for making sure I’m not going crazy right now.” Blair said with a laugh.

“You don’t need to do that,” Lindsey began in protest. But she knew better than to start something with Blair, “I - okay. That would be really nice actually. Where or what sounds good to you?”

“Always outdoing herself. It’s nice to actually see the finished product in person. - So how do you know Blair and Chuck?”

“So what’s up?” Brandon asked as he sat down across from the person he agreed to meet up with for lunch. “Earlier today you sounded stressed. Is it just the holidays or something?” @ggstarterblog​

“The holiday’s are always stressful, but there is the addition of a whole ‘nother person this year. A person I have not seen or spoken to for about 16 years.” Lindsey rambled, “but I did it to myself didn’t I?”
