Clexa PoliSci Majors AU:
Most people spend their free periods at college studying in the library or you know, chilling; Lexa herself was spending it smoking in the field. She should have figured Clarke was not most people. She was protesting, Lexa squinted at Clarke’s banner, student tutoring fees now? She suspected this was why the pretty blonde was extra aggressive in their usual debates in Politics class earlier…
Clarke has a crazy schedule to say the least, her parents - okay her mother - wasn’t pleased at her taking a political science major but she managed to fit in all her pre-med requisites as compromise. Despite this she never misses a chance to tell Lexa that she’s bitter and apathetic and everything that’s wrong with politics (she doesn’t mention her thinking she has amazing hair).
Then when they are placed in an assignment together, they start seeing each other’s points of view. It’s not that Lexa wants to be a cynic, she tries to be realistic and objective, and upon Clarke’s probing, she reveals some of her passions to her: swimming and the water. Clarke learns that she can’t change everything, and to take it a little easy on the judgemental front; just because Lexa doesn’t protest shouting from the rooftops doesn’t mean she doesn’t care.
When a local company Mount Wether starts releasing their waste into the local water reserves, Clarke and Lexa are both outraged. They plan a campaign and stay up most of the night making banners and posters. Exhausted and covered in paint, they fall asleep at their desks. The next morning, Clarke begins to stress out so Lexa drives them to the local lake, and they walk in to it fully clothed…
“You have to remember why we’re doing this, Clarke, instead of getting swept up in the anger.”

When Lexa’s shoot in the studio with the hot up and coming photographer Clarke Griffin turns out well, they agree to collaborate again, this time in Europe. However in their down-time when they go adventuring Lexa starts to notice that Clarke herself is really camera-shy - she can’t imagine why, she’s gorgeous, who cares if she’s not a model.
So Lexa steals Clarke’s camera and tries to snap Clarke but to no avail. Until one night when Clarke (and Lexa for that matter) has one too many cocktails in the hotel lounge, they goof about taking silly selfies. Lexa sticks them up on her wall later.
