Those who protest against Israel's genocide are punished for antisemitism.
But for some strange reason, authorities have never cracked down on antisemitism any other time. Any other time, antisemitism is considered free speech.
It's almost as if they know damn well that protesting against Israel is not antisemitism.

‼️‼️
If you're having trouble keeping up with what's going on in Palestine because of US news coverage of university protests, here are some articles you can read and a video you can watch:
youtube
While CNN & all the other mainstream media try to paint the university protests as "pro terrorism" (which they're not, they're literally anti-war protests.) Palestinians are being slaughtered by the minute.
Please don't stop speaking about Palestine.

really don't like the way nintendo does difficulty nowdays. where 90% of the game is pretty easy with no way to increase the difficulty, and then there's like an hour of super-hard stuff bolted onto the end for the people who got to the end
they've been doing this for mainline mario for like two decades & it works fine there bc moving around as mario is generally fun in itself and those games aren't really about challenge anyway? but it seems like their default for everything now. hearing about how they handled the difficulty was the main reason i didn't touch the new pikmin or mario RPG remake
the mario RPG remake actually has both an easy and normal mode, and both are easier than the original (aside from a boss rush tacked on at the very end), but no hard mode. and holy shit watching footage of that game the combat just looks so boring because you can bulldoze almost everything with basic attacks. like, turn-based RPGs are a genre that has to have some amount of difficulty cause making meaningful tactical decisions is where the fun is in turn-based combat. you can't carry a whole game with just timed hits. those are just spice
holy shit just put hard modes in your games. please. i don't want to have to slog through 30 hours of mindlessly easy gameplay to get to some actual meat. let the little kids the game is for have their normal & easy modes while i get to challenge myself. everyone wins. maybe some of those kids would even enjoy a hard mode too

i've been thinking about redoing the alchemy rules for iron halberd. i already retooled them a while back to remove the null result (where you just waste your ingredients & don't get a potion) and you just get side effects if you fuck up instead. but i wanna take that further
during play i've realized i don't think it's actually super satisfying to fuck up making potions in the first place. i don't think the possibility of failure needs to be a part of this system, for the same reason i don't really like having to succeed on a roll to cast spells - it's one of those things that should probably just work
so instead you just get the potion any time you spend the ingredients to make one. this is a straight-up buff, but i think it's good for the game. really encourages players to actually bother with potion-making even if they don't have an alchemist in the party.
if you do have an alchemist, though, you get to make potions without having to be in your potion lab, and being in your lab gets you more and stronger potions instead.

it just feels more interesting to me than your alchemy bonus being a static "less likely to fuck up your potion-brewing roll" number. lately i've been questioning more and more why "roll to see if you fail" is the default task resolution & i want to extend that to some of the subsystems in this game
i'm pretty sure these rules also have a random roll to see whether you successfully harvest monster parts, but i forget to even use those 100% of the time anyway. i don't think i need an extra failure point, where you need to roll high to find ingredients then also roll high to make those into a potion. so the harvesting is probably gonna be an auto-success too

This problem is nothing new, but this specific example with these numbers puts it into a fucking brutal perspective.
To put these numbers a different way: A Taco Bell burrito that used to cost ~7 minutes and 20 seconds of minimum wage work now costs ~30 minutes and 30 seconds of minimum wage work.
You used to be able to work at Taco Bell anywhere in the country and make enough money in one hour to buy at least 8 burritos (maybe 9 if you're a manager or something) and feed, like, 3-4 people a decently-filling meal. But now, the same amount of work at the same job will get you one meal for one person. And this change has happened over a mere 15 years.
Remember this whenever you see rich people demonize younger generations for our financial situations, when they call us irresponsible for not investing a ton of money in savings accounts.
