Still hyperfocused on pokemon so what type the Doom Patrol gang would specialize in if they were gym leaders/elite 4/whatever
Larry: I feel like that, before the crash, he would be a flying type specialist and would now be a grass specialist. Three specific pokemon I could see him having are a Tropius carried over from his mono-flying type team, a lilligant specifically unovian, and an amoongus or other grass/poison type. This isn't part of his battles, just story flavor but I could also see him having a poison type service mon, something like a shroodle maybe?
Rita: Fairy. You can't tell me she wouldn't be a fairy specialist. She would also be one of those gym leaders that throw a fit when you beat her. She would have a Sylveon.
Jane: I kinda think she would be a psychic gym leader? I don't know about any specific pokemon for her but she does give off psychic vibes.
Cliff: gym leader that in game A, he's a rock type. In game B, he's a ground type. In both he's also a steel type elite four. I could see him having Klawf and Orthworm.
Laura: Dark. This is exclusively so she can have a Zarude.
Rama: poison but he's not like...a creepy poison type specialist. Like, before he's revealed to be the poison specialist everyone thinks he's the grass or fairy. Added flavor; when you lose against him, he heals your pokemon for you and gives you treats for your pokemon.
Vic: Steel or fighting. Maybe both?

I'm hyperfixated on pokemon rn so I had the thought of what a pokemon based on each of the Doom patrol members would be.
Larry: three stages. First stage would be a normal/flying type. Normal because he's just a normal guy while flying is kinda self explanatory, planes. To evolve, maybe he has to faint from being poisoned? Not faint while poisoned, poisoning has to cause him to faint. The second stage would be a poison/flying type. Poison because he's now radioactive while flying is him trying to hold on to who he used to be. Evolves with max friendship. The third stage is definitely a poison type, but I think grass or fairy fits for a secondary type. Grass because his plants and how they have helped him, fairy because he's finally moved on and is happy.
Rama: doesn't evolve. Psychic/poison type. Maybe a relative of the Alakazam line? The psychic type is often associated with intelligence. Rama's control of the elements could also be associated with psychic manipulation. Poison is because a lot of elements can poison a person (lead poisoning. Radiation poisoning. The gasses.)
Keeg: he's a rotom and no one can convince me otherwise.
Rita: two stages. First is a pure fairy type then evolves into a fairy dual type. I don't know what the secondary type would be. Probably just keep this one a simple level up evo.
Cliff: pure electric type that evolves into a steel/electric. Electric is considered a very fast type and car go nyoom. Steel because...robo. Probably has a signature move that's a priority move with recoil? Evolves when he faints from the recoil of said move.
Vic: pure normal type that evolved into a normal/steel type. Level up with the metal coat.

SKA pin: Quick History lesson because I had no idea what it was: definitely google more:
SKA is a music genre that originated in Jamaica. In the 70s a lot of Jamaicans immigrated to the UK. Punks and young Jamaican immigrants felt a sense of unity due to both being screwed over by the system. This led to 2 Tone SKA which mixed SKA with punk rock elements. While 2 Tone SKA is a genre, it was also a movement that focused on racial unity.
Rude Boy patch: In late 60s Jamaica RudeBoys were young “delinquents” who listened to rocksteady music. Term was used in England to refer to fans of SKA and 2 tone. Think the other insults used for punks that have been reclaimed.
Checker Print pin: Represents racial unity in the movement.
Target patch: Symbol for the Mod subculture. Google this one to.
Union Jack pin (on bag) and patch: He sure is British
Smiley face pin: I believe it’s just a generic smiley face but it could be a logo.

Assorted Doom Patrol Headcanons
Larry does eat, he just has to in his room. He says he doesn't so no one worries about him.
Rama is taught something new like every week.
Building off of my "Babydoll views Larry as a dad" headcanon, she treats Keeg like a brother. Rama, however, she is NOT happy about. (Why is he trying to take away her papa?)

He regularly visits Danny. Yes, Keeg has seen a drag show. Occasionally Larry brings Rama with him. Everytime he brings Rama that's a karaoke night, Rama convinces him to join him. Larry says he hates it but then Rama reminds him that he very rarely invites him on non-karaoke nights.

Doom Patrol headcanons Keeg edition
Keeg's suit in my wedding fic looks like Rama's usual suit. He then gets an outfit that looks like Larry's.
His age/development is...quite off for both a human and a negative energy spirit. Its because he's part human and part negative energy spirit but also because he was removed from the larvae early.
Every halloween, Keeg insists on having a costume. He doesn't go trick or treating, he just wants a costume.
Keeg can weirdly go through himself, like he can swing his hand through his arm. It makes the noise that happens when you put two microphones together. Everyone (understandably) hates this sound but Keeg loves it. Sometimes, he stims by making the noise.
Keeg likes pokemon. His favorite is Rotom.
