I know absolutely nothing about FNAF please explain everything

Alright, so it all started in the 70s.

William Afton set up a company with his bestie Henry Emily called Fazbear Entertainment. They advertised birthday animatronics. Their first restaraunt was called Fredbear's family diner, but we'll get back to that later.

Somewhere along his adventure in robotics, Afton decided he was going to expirement with immortality via robotic preservation. He created his own side business that I can't remember the name of at the moment. Something with his name in it. He created the Funtime animatronics: Circus Baby, Ballora, Funtime Foxy, and Funtime Freddy/Bonnie.

The animatronics of Circus Baby's Pizza World were designed special. Their inner anatomy was a complex composition of wires that could easily be emptied out of the metal shell with a device called the Scooper. He designed these animatronics to capture children. Their ai tracked the amount of people within a room at all times in order to engulf children into their bodies. He wanted to see if the kids' souls would be absorbed into the robots, therefore granting immortality.

Of course, his daughter Elizabeth didnt know that. She was infatuated with Circus Baby. The animatronic's design was modeled after her, after all. But she was confused why her dad wouldnt let her go near it. Of course, she went near it anyway and got chomped. Seeing his daughter died to his creation, Afton realized the seriousness of the situation and shut down Circus Baby's Pizza World. He decided to stop his trials with immortality. It wasn't worth his children.

However, he still had to make money off of the things. The Funtime animatronics were retired to the underground, only let out to be rented out to parties. That complex will lead to the fifth game, Sister Location. But that's not on the timeline yet.

The first game in chronological order is the forth game in the series.

Seeing his daughter get destroyed by his animatronics meant that Afton was scared to death his remaining children would meet the same fate. Even though the remaining animatronics were not inherently designed to capture children, he was still nervous. His youngest, Evan, was in love with the characters of Fredbear's Diner and the Fazbear characters of one of the other establishments. Afton needed to counteract the obsession.

So, like any sane parent, Afton created nightmarish versions of the Fazbear crew to roam the halls of the Afton home. His sons, Michael and Evan, endured five nights of these characters apparently trying to kill them. Evan was terrified. Michael was too, but he was a shitty preteen. Seeing his brother scared meant opportunity. He dressed up as Foxy and scared him around their home, only enhancing Evan's fears. Afton didnt get onto him because he knew it helped the cause.

For some reason Afton decided he was going to have Evan's birthday at the Fredbear Diner. Michael and his friends decided they were gonna play a little prank on Evan. Saying that the kid wanted a little kiss, they brought Evan up to Fredbear and fully shoved his head inside.

The animatronics of Fredbear's Family Diner were unique. They were springlock suits. Using a complex system of springs, the suits could function as lethal fursuits and be animatronics when not being worn. But these suits were very dangerous. If the springs got too taught or wet, they would collapse in on themselves and go back into animatronic mode, crushing whoever was inside. Evan cried inside of Fredbear's mouth. The springs got too wet. The suit collapsed. Evan's head was crushed.

Evan was promptly rushed to the hospital, where he spent five more days in a coma. He dreamed of Fredbear haunting him, just like the animatronics that had been roaming his home. In the end, he got one final vision. His well loved Fredbear plush told him they were still his friends as he died. Then his father, Afton, assured him he was going to put his son back together.

Evan died. The Fredbear suit had gained a host. The bite of 83.

Afton went back to his expirementation with immortality. Now, instead of trying to preserve himself, he saught to bring back his son and daughter through the power of remnants (fnaf lingo for souls).

Afton started frantically killing kids and shoving their bodies into animatronic suits. I believe Chica's soul he manipulated while in the Springbonnie suit, telling her that her cat who'd been run over wasn't dead. No, he was in the backrooms with him. He killed her, obviously. The Chica animatronic gained a host. She's the only soul I actually know about, but only a few animatronics were successfully possessed. Foxy, Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Fredbear, Balloon Boy, Mangle, and the Puppet.

And onto the Puppet's story.

Henry Emily started growing suspicious of his partner's behavior. He banned him from Fazbear entertainment. Afton swore revenge. Henry got nervous. He built a special animatronic to protect his daughter, Charlie. The Puppet/Marionette was designed specifically to make sure she was safe. But boys will be boys. Some bullies trapped the Puppet in its box and shoved Charlie outside. Afton, disguised as a security guard, killed her.

The Puppet finally made its way outside. It was raining, so its body began to break down. It broke down on top of Charlie's body. The Puppet gained a host.

Fnaf 2 was the second in chronological order. The Puppet led an onslaught against security guards, looking to protect more children from being slaughtered. It manipulated the animatronics to be more aggressive toward adults, guards especially. Jeremy Fitzgerald walked in not knowing what was going on, looking for an easy night guard job at an animatronic pizza place. During his first week, the place closed down. People were noticing all the kids going missing. But they had one more party scheduled. During said party, an animatronic (popularly thought to be Mangle) took a bite out of Jeremy's skull. Hence the bite of 87.

The next game in chronological order is fnaf 5, otherwise known as Sister Location.

Michael Afton, that self loathing son of a bitch, was getting suspicious of his dad (who, coincidentally, had gone missing). He wanted to know what happened to his sister. He went to work in the underground location where the Funtime animatronics were kept. While down there, Elizabeth saw an opportunity to escape. See, she'd been rotting down there for 20 something years and was tired of it. She manipulated him into the scooping room. She merged her wires with that of the other Funtimes into a mass called Ennard. She gutted her brother and forced her way inside of him. They were free on the surface.

That is, until the body started to rot. Eventually they had to abandon the body because it was turning purple with how old it was. The animatronics escaped into the sewers.

Michael possessed his own body.

He realized what his dad had done and vowed to kill him. I honestly have no idea what was going on in fnaf 1, but fnaf 3 takes place in 2023.

Someone had the amazing idea to reboot the Fazbear franchise by taking advantage of the folklore surrounding it. They made it a horror attraction. Michael applied for a security job there because he thought his father might show his stupid face. He did, but not in the way he'd expected it.

Afton had been forced into a damp Springbonnie suit by the spirits of the children he'd killed. The suit seized on him. He bled out. Henry Emily found the body. He locked him up in a backroom, never to be seen again.

UNTIL THE GLORIOUS YEAR OF 2023. They found an animatronic in an old room. Apparently ignoring the bits of flesh hanging out of it, they shoved Afton, now known as Springtrap, into the horror attraction. Michael and Springtrap threw hands. Michael set the place on fire, setting the spirits of all but himself, Fredbear, the Funtimes, the Puppet, and Afton free.

Then the sixth game.

Fnaf Pizzaria Simulator was a ploy devised by Henry Emily. He assumed that rebooting the Fazbear franchise via independent business opportunities would attach the lost souls of the animatronics. He was right.

Scrapbaby (who'd been kicked out of Ennard for god knows why), Molten Freddy (new Ennard), Scraptrap (Springy boy but with brain poking out), L.E.F.T.Y (a capture device for the puppet), and Michael Afton all came to play. Henry Emily trapped them all inside, himself included, and set the place ablaze. He has a really cool speech if you wanna look it up.

Point is, all their spirits were freed. That just left two souls duking it out: Evan and Afton.

Evan was furious.

The kid trapped Afton inside a hell of his own making, Ultimate Custom Night. He left Afton to fight against all the evil he'd created, even sending in an entity called DD to add new twists and turns to extend the suffering. But eventually the kid got talked into eternal rest by a spirit who'd made its way into Afton's hell. Old Man Consequences told Evan to leave the demon to his demons and rest. Evan was freed. Afton was not.

On the outside world, Scott Cawthon made the fnaf games within the fnaf universe. Fazbear Entertainment, looking to save face, decided to make their own game making fun of the games. Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted. A VR game.

Due to budget cuts, the company stole some code from an old animatronic skeleton. Betcha can't guess who's it was. That's right- old man Afton. Part of Afton's consciousness was transported into the VR game in the form of Glitchtrap- the ugliest kotherfucker in the entire game franchise.

Glitchtrap made several attempts to possess beta testers and escape. One in particular, Jeremy, cut his own face off with a guillotine paper slixer to keep him from getting out.

But the effort was in vain. A beta tester named Vannessa was possessed by Glitchtrap. She was made to sew a patchwork bunny suit, using the disguise to murder children. Vanny was born. Vanessa was locked out of her own mind. Afton was back.
