"You speak the truth." And yet, there is a coldness to the stranger's tone. Eerie, is it not? It rattles his chest, clawing at insides that have felt no such cold.

He has seen many a man cover his face. Whether out of necessity, a barrier against the harsh sands of Arabia or out of a desire for stealth—anonymity. Because of disease...but never has he seen a man hide it so well, as if a face were never formed.

He does not move to peer beneath the cloak. Who would deny another his privacy? This is an understanding between masked men.

Promo / Aesthetic

𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐋: my portrayal is based solely on the 2005 movie. historical facts may be borrowed at times, but this is not the King Baldwin of the history books. it is vital to recognize that Kingdom of Heaven is a heavily romanticized re-telling of historical events. the film was made with the intent to spread the message of peace in the Middle East. if you think the Baldwin of the movie is your crusading hero, prepare to suffer the fate of Reynald de Châtillon.

𝐒𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆: my default setting is 1174-1185 Jerusalem and surrounding areas. these are the years in which The Leper King ruled Jerusalem. i am very open to AU however, and may change the time period in which Baldwin lives. he may not be king of Jerusalem in these AUs, but his personality will remain the same.

I. absolutely no glorifying of war out of character. this includes the crusades and any other campaign during this period whether Muslim, Christian, Jewish it does not matter. the only comment i will accept on the situation in the Middle East currently is FREE PALESTINE, because it is the only correct response.

II. no racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, islamophobia, anti-semitism, or any other kind of religious discrimination will be tolerated. this includes Christianity. i am not here to counsel you on your religious trauma of any kind.

III. understand that anything said in character does not reflect my own beliefs. the writer and the character are completely separate.

IV. if Baldwin is a king, treat him like one. i will not tolerate any godmodding or anything of the sort.
