Ableton Loop 2017
Ableton have recently released details about this years annual Loop event. The 3 days of discussions workshops and performances reinforces their place as arguably the most forward thinking and community spirited of “the big three” DAW providers.
Obviously set across the culture of their home Berlin, this years program sees/hears talks from amongst others Goldie, William Basinski and Mandy Parnell. The Wire will be in residence and there looks to be an exciting and diverse set of live performances and workshops to check out.
This is coming to be an important fixture on the international music and technology calendar. Tickets apparently need registration so a fingers and hope you get one situation it seems...

Slices Mix 006 - Al Kassian
So here we arrive at the 6th instalment of our monthly Slices series. And for this fine July day we have an hour selection from the very brilliant Al Kassian.
Co-founder of the Planet Sundae record label which we profiled here on the blog a few months back. As well as a run of his own great productions he’s also one half of the Opal Sunn duo.
Suffice to say we’re excited to have him step up for our mid-summer mix.

The Ghost - Mobile Record Store
Last summer DJ duo Josh Tweek and James Creed set up Berlin’s first mobile record store in a vintage Mercedes bus. Both with a long background in digging and playing underground electronic music the carefully curated collection is well worth booking a visit to.
I first had a leaf through last summer at one of their event spots at Funkhaus and hope to catch up with them again this year.

Perimeter Kid on DDR
The very wonderful Onya Devaney is three months in to her Perimeter Kid residency on Dublin Digital Radio.

Lustgarten - 07th April
Our friends over at Lustgarten have been steadily building an integral Berlin night over the past few years. As well as playing their own stunning live sets they’ve been busy putting on artists including Legowelt, Hunee, Jamie 3:26 and Interstellar Funk amongst many others.
For their next instalment on 7th April the line up looks to be stronger than ever with sets from Suzanne Kraft, Orpheu The Wizard and De Ambassade.
