There he was. Standing as tall as possible by that ridiculous stone seat. About time someone put an end to this, and that someone would be Kai. This had gone on for long enough already. Today would be the day that he finally retrieves what he loves the most.
“….. Aichi…”
Spoken in the most serious tone he had ever used with the blue haired boy, or anyone for that matter. Despite that, he only one thing in mind; his friend… best friend… other half.
“I assume you know why I’m here, so I don’t need to say it…
It’s time.”
With that, his deck had been slipped out of his pocket. Holding it as tight as possible. He could do this… he knew he could. He had the support of another standing beside him, and this madness couldn’t be allowed to go on. Everyone had suffered enough. Especially Aichi. They deserved to be happy again. Together. Kai would be absolutely sure he made up for all the time the younger boy had missed since being trapped in this place.
“I’m not leaving this place without you! You’re coming home. Where you belong. Back to everyone who cares about you.”
He’d tagged along for moral support; for the sake of seeking answers to unsolved questions. To ensure this entire fiasco would finally reach it’s conclusion.
Lingering close to Kai’s form, he’d been hesitant to depart, even when that deck be produced. The brunet had endured such a lengthy trial, wracking his brains about how to resolve it all without finding himself faced with that repeated cycle of which he and his partner had become the latest victims of.
Grasping the sleeve of the older, azure optics wandered from his duplicate to the saviour; there was no doubt in his mind– it had to end here. Hadn’t it? Kai would find a means by which to break the cycle, to shatter the coils of the chain which held their predecessors hostage.
Not that he’d yet learned the truth. Somewhere deep inside of him, to be faced with Legion finally, his stomach turned over.
“Kai-kun… are you sure it’ll be alright? Just the two of us?”
He’d refrained from letting his own know they were venturing to the palace; not daring to put him through the panic that others like him had. For all the disappearances, Legion alone stood within the structure, his knights all to support him.
But still… something felt wrong. So very wrong.
“I’ll stay with you no matter what happens. We’ll get out of here together”.
So long had he been awaiting what would be the final nail in the coffin for this cycle; where memories of the previous ended and this would begin. Kai was always the end-goal; the signal that the next wave was to begin anew.
And how generous of him to escort the new vessel; to spread like a disease between rotting bodies.
“I’ve been waiting for you”. Words directed towards the brunet, but applicable to both. The hint of a smirk might have tugged at the corner of his lips, contained in the mean time. Void had no feelings to exert - human sensations were but a distraction.
Within him; a myriad of such feelings might race from the core’s seeing his partner in the first time since their arrival within the next plane. Something which might be quashed quickly for hte sake of retaining that stoic composure.
From the pocket of the grand coat, the Link Joker deck fashioned after his own would be produced, following Kai’s unsheathed sword, and presented in opposition. “You are aware this is where it all ends, are you not?
You shall remain here once you’ve been consumed by the force which pushed you over the edge once previously, which ignited this chain of events. And the boy beside you, you’re aware of his fate...
Plan your escapes, but neither of you will leave”.

"Hm... He attended with a partner, and when I Locked it, his rationale crumbled completely. He acted a berserker and tackled me to the floor, swinging that sword of his around.
For a moment, I really believed he would destroy this body".
Not that it had ever instilled fear, or anything of the sort; there was still the trump card in the other side of the coin; the Aichi that had taken in Tasuku, the one destined to follow in this one's wake.
He observed Gaillard's features carefully, intrigued to know what sort of reaction he might exert once the confession would be delivered.
"He is. I'd say, as a threat, he's on par with Kai-kun. Which is why I need to deal with them both. By himself, Kai-kun has never trumped the one standing in my place, but if he were to forge an alliance with that boy... then things might not work out in the same way".
Gaillard listened quietly, patiently. There wasn’t a greater need for an in-depth explanation; after all, everything—from images to recollections—could be shared between him and Aichi easily. Their memories intertwined through their existential bond, and intermingled indefinitely.
”Attacked you..?”
Of course, it must’ve occurred while he had been trapped in limbo. But to think he hadn’t been there to protect His Majesty from potential harm…
A bitter regret welled up in his imaginary heart.
"Is he this strong? A child…?”

There was something inside of him; a sensation of some description without words to put to it. Pity?
It was the best label he could come up with.
Despite everything, Gaillard remained loyal to his tainted liege, no matter what the dreadful things he'd endured under Aichi's terrible reign.
It almost made him feel sorry for the knight; if it was possible for such an entity to feel such things.
"He remains adamant to stand by his ability to overturn what has happened any number of times before. Though I've the suspicion he's more well-versed with my power than I initially believed. He's the spawn of another like me...
If I can recruit him, then I shall take up the opportunity. The way he attacked me before... he'd make a better ally than enemy".
"Anything for you, Milord.."
…That’s right. Aichi-sama, you’re still…
No, he couldn’t think of it that way. Aichi was Aichi no matter which form he took, no matter how much he changed in disposition, deep down he was still—!!
"—Understood. My mission has not changed then. That child that you speak of, the one that transcends time and space.. Do you wish to make him a Knight as well?"

The look on horror within Tasuku's eyes was sign enough that he'd hit a critical weak spot. The attachment to another was crucial, more so to someone robbed of others so important to him. And he could feel that frustration bubbling up inside the tiny frame.
"I am far from done.
Until this world crumbles and I can move onto the next, I am not finished.
I have spoken too much; it was easier to observe your kind when I articulated less, but I can get my claws under your skin this way. You especially.
How venomous you feel towards me, the fear you feel on behalf of those who could so easily fall as a result of their attachment to you.
Your co-dependence on one another is a flawed system. Why else would Kai-kun, isolated and quiet, be such a perfect fit to lead off the invasion, he introduced my kind to your worlds.
And if not for his interference, I would have remained sealed forever. But your 'bonds', as you like to refer to them, are what brings you down. They unleashed me. And they will be what holds you back.
You cannot stop me; you know it's impossible to erase what doesn't exist. Existence can be undone, nonexistence is another matter entirely. Attempt to reseal this body, if you can, but without the same precautions he set up, you can only end in failure.
That is... if you can even stomach to do through with it. If you're truly striving to rescue another, then will you seal him away in addition? Your emotion you identify as love is your kind's undoing".
Tasuku didn’t answer, he refused to. Not only to act in the sake of defiance toward’s Void’s spiteful accusations, but for his own sanity—He didn’t need anymore seeded doubts in his subconscious… especially not now when he had just recovered. Not after he had promised those he cared about…

That tightening in his chest that overtook him the last time when Jack was locked threatened to seize his rationale again. He couldn’t bare it, the happy faces who greeted him and had granted him a peaceful life… Chrono who was his only friend, the first one to have accepted the truth, so precious to him in a time where he wasn’t supposed to exist.. To have that taken away…….
He was barely able to contain his fury as he hung his head, passively turning the other cheek.
"…Are you done? I don’t care about what you have to say… I’ve already been able to act out of accordance to fate, and I’ll continue to do so! Even if I can’t defeat you, I can put away your existence so you may never interfere with human lives ever again!”

A coy smile; so he'd finally managed to transmit his voice to an intended target stationed on Earth. Even drag another soul into the Palace; growing stronger.

"I've seen and heard enough. You've no power than the last time we met.
Even if you were to lose your mind and act out, you cannot cure anyone, can you?
Your struggle across time and space is unending; there is no hope for salvation and yet you cling to that hope".
The miasma thick around Aichi's body, clouding various features across his body, the flash of markings akin to Reverse across his cheeks for all but a second. With that cold stare fixated on Tasuku, the smile transfigured into a smirk.
His feathers had been ruffled and his weaknesses identified. No wonder that he'd lost complete control when Jack had been Locked during the previous collision. And if to taunt him, Aichi raised a hand, two fingers extended vertically and a Lock manifested above them, tilting his head towards the seal.
"I know that you're tainted with the same darkness as the one that bore you. Isn't that right? You're a child of an alternative. Riddled with this like a disease, isn't he?
And you've set yourself up for a fall. Opening up to rope in another target, that child whom you've affection for. Last time, your partner was your greatest weakness, I believed, but there are others, isn't there?
There's no end to suffering; happiness of one is born from suffering of another. That's how you humans work. This one is doomed to suffer for eternity".
…What had begun as a mild headache, soon turned over into a vicious migraine, a storm of welling pain and agony if what have you. Forcing himself to move himself into a quiet and more secluded vicinity, Tasuku walking on trembling legs, the closest thing to finding a hiding spot at Buddy Police HQ was the men’s bathroom.. Desperately making his way in, collapsing against the nearest stall with a sharp grunt, in order to compose himself (or attempt to at least) he could only hold and grasp his pounding skull, breaking into a cold sweat.
Ahh.. my head…! It hurts… it hurts..! It’s… gonna split open..!
But it was done in vain, and as his eyes wrenched shut, he heard it… that voice…
