alessandra's head tilted to the side as she continued to analyze the male in front of her. his words sparked something within her, something that had always simmered just below the surface of her skin. among the things that bothered her, the sneers of the sacred twenty-eight simply because her family didn't come from the same place as theirs, but was no less pure.
Tumblr media
slowly, she began to nod. "when you decide to take this new world," she began. "you will find me right behind you."
another might've accepted the grandeur ⸻ the splendor that came with the title of salazar slytherin's heir. the young dragon, however, sneered at the long lines of serpents, his dearly loathed ancestors. a bloodline grown thin & weak many generations ago.
Tumblr media
❝ one where the sacred twenty-eight families can no longer do as they please. ❞ but he would. once they see gaunt ride the winged mountain —– once they chose between kneeling & death by nagini's molten flames.

Despite his outward appearance, Demetria could tell her friend was deeply bothered. She knew him better than she sometimes knew herself, and she could feel the emotions that warred within him, all the hurt and anger that threatened to overtake him. She couldn't blame him. She had been so utterly furious too, when learning that the babe had gone missing. She had clenched her fists and stomped through the castle alongside the other help, not even noticing how things had shaken in their place up until she'd left the room to join the search. His strong words and appearance had Demetria's lips quirking up at the sides faintly. As much as she did adore her soft prince, she equally enjoyed it when he became a force to be reckoned with. "What?" She spluttered, instinctively taking a step back as her eyes widened in alarm. Of course she needed a bath, she hadn't been sitting in a cell of luxury, but he needn't point it out! Huffing as her face reddened, she crossed her arms over her chest petulantly. "How kind of you." She sneered halfheartedly, choosing to ignore how simple words had her heart skipping a beat. 'I couldn't deny you any longer'. If only they had been said in different circumstances, if only he would no longer deny her the feel of his hands on her, of his lips brushing against hers-- "Fine then, as long as no one hauls me back here, I'll go take a quick bath and then we'll leave."
Tumblr media
Dmitri's gaze met Demetria's with a calm demeanor, but behind his stoic facade, a whirlwind of concern raged. "Right now." he confirmed, his voice steady and controlled, betraying none of the worry that churned within him. Only his eyes followed her as she stepped at his side, trying his damn hardest to control the rise and fall of his chest, unwilling to give out the effect her presence had on him. He was yet to be convinced of her innocence, he was still trying to keep her at arms length, but at the same time it was becoming more and more difficult to ignore the jabs at his gut looking at her. He didn't like to think about it, but he realized a long time ago he was completely and madly in love with her. Dmitri's snort echoed faintly in the confines of the cell, a sharp sound cutting through the tension. "I'd like to see anyone try and stop me," he declared with a defiant edge, his gaze meeting Demetria's with a flicker of determination. "I won't rest until I have the answers I seek, no matter who stands in my way." His words hung in the air, heavy with the weight of his resolve. With a nod to Demetria, Dmitri stepped forward, his determination a palpable force driving him forward, regardless of the obstacles that lay ahead. Dmitri's stern expression softened slightly as a hint of amusement danced in his eyes. "And let's not forget that you could use a bath as well," he quipped, a playful, barely visible smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. "I couldn't deny you any longer."

"Well isn't that great for you." Her words are spoken teasingly rather than irritated as she knew most would get in the face of such bragging, but she found it rather funny. Charming, even. "Oh? And do you have any good-natured pranks planned for tonight?"
Tumblr media
"Well, better late than never, I always say, and that's coming from someone who was always constantly late to classes at Hogwarts but maintained all of my Professor's respect because I always got high marks in my lessons," Nicholas bragged.
Nicholas smiled as he walked through the hall with Esmeralda on his arm. "Trust me, being a headache is the last thing I would want to be; I grew out of my mischievous ways once I left Hogwarts, well, sort of; I do like a good prank from time to time, but it good nature mind you"

Something deep within Esme knew that the only place she would be safe was the Lower City. For how mighty and great those in the Upper claimed to be, she knew they were just as grimy and terrible as those they claimed dwelled in the Underworld. And she also knew that no one was allowed to cross that bridge without permission, and knew that those men behind her would be forced to concede to the line unless they wanted a full-blown war on their hands for the sake of catching her. But what about her? She couldn't think about that as she continued to push herself, faster and harder now towards the dark figure she was in front of her.
Her breath came out in a woosh of relief as she was pulled over the line and behind the body of what she now saw was a male. Her body trembled from the cold and her fear, but she couldn't help but peak over his shoulder towards the men who, sure enough, had halted. She watched them shift on their feet, eyes glancing between each other before one of the men spoke. "She belongs with us." Esme gave a quiet whimper from her place, and then one in the middle spoke up next. "We just want to return her home, her family is worried about her. We can take her off your hands." The words were spoken smoothly, and friendly even as he spread his hands out. "Please, no." Esme whimpered to the man whose back she clung to. "Please."
Tumblr media
Despite it being one city, the bridge in the middle separated the upper city from the lower city. Nobody crossed the bridge unless they absolutely needed too and even then, they hesitated. The Lower City, or the Underworld as those who lived in the Upper City called it was completely different than it's northern counterpart, the Underworld contained the worst of the worst and at the top of the violent hierarchy was the King of the Underworld. A man who many believed to be nothing more than a myth.
Milo was standing on the bridge, right in front of the divide that separated the two cities, staring out at the dark, calm waters below. The same waters that just hours prior had been disturbed by a man that he had thrown over for crossing him. His mind wandered to what the next day would bring him when he was pulled from his thoughts by the sound of screaming. He looked over to see a girl running towards the bridge, normally people were running away from it. It took him a moment to realize why she was running but he saw several figures chasing the girl and he realized that she was trying to escape them.
Milo didn't move from his place though, he watched and waited. It wasn't until she was closer to him that he reached out to pull her across the faded white line that separated the two cities. His cold eyes didn't even look at the girl in his arms as he stared at the men who were standing on the other side of the line. "Hello, gentlemen. Lovely night for a stroll." he tells them as moved Esme behind his body. "Do we have a problem here?"

Many nights Demetria had laid in bed and pondered what she had ever done to deserve Dmitri, what she continued to do to deserve his friendship and loyalty when she had nothing else but her own loyalty to give. Sometimes she liked to imagine what her life would have been like if she were born as somebody, if she were a princess or a lady and would have been allowed to marry him like her heart so desired. But thinking about that was a dangerous thing, and it only served to hurt her more. A tiny voice in the back of her mind whispered she was finally where she belonged - there was obviously something wrong with her, something different. Everybody now finally had a reason to be rid of her from his life. But her prince, her sweet prince still fought for her, and she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. She was forced out of her self-pity by the loud clang of the cell door swinging open, and Demetria was visibly startled at the sound, looking at Dmitri incredulously. "Right now?" She asked, but pushed herself up to her feet nonetheless and brushed herself off. She hadn't made the suggestion to get herself out of the cell, she knew she probably deserved to be in there, but had suggested it out of a genuine desire to help. "Won't you get in trouble for this?" She wearily inquired as she stepped to his side.
Tumblr media
Dmitri stood there, his heart heavy with concern for Demetria, the only woman alive to make him feel something sincere. Seeing her in such distress pierced him deeply. Despite the gravity of the situation, he couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude for her unwavering loyalty, even in the face of her own struggles. His eyes softened as he listened to Demetria's words, her pain evident in every syllable. He couldn't deny the truth in her statement; he had always fought for her, just as she had fought for him. From the moment they had crossed paths, their bond had been forged in the fires of adversity, each one standing as the other's unwavering champion. "It's true," Dmitri admitted, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips despite the gravity of the situation. "I have fought for you, and I will continue to do so." As Demetria stopped mid-sentence, Dmitri's heart clenched with anticipation, his mind racing with the unspoken words. But as her voice faltered, a chilling realization crept over him, sending a shiver down his spine. The thought of his son being harmed, of him teetering on the edge of life and death, ignited a fierce fire within Dmitri's soul. Anger, raw and unyielding, surged through him like a tidal wave, threatening to consume everything in its path. His grip tightened involuntarily, his knuckles whitening as he fought to contain the tempest raging inside him. Every fiber of his being yearned to lash out, to seek retribution against those who dared to threaten his child. As the weight of his son's precarious situation bore down on Dmitri, his mind raced with a singular, desperate determination. Without another moment's hesitation, he swung the cell door open, the metallic clang reverberating through the stale air of the dungeon. "Let's go." Dmitri's voice rang out, urgency lacing every syllable.

His words had her hesitating, not necessarily out of shock but because of the warmth that flooded through her. She'd done a very good job at not labeling whatever it was they were doing in a lame attempt to keep it from getting any messier than it needed to be. She knew she was intoxicated by him, knew that she couldn't do without touching him if he was within sight of her, and knew that she never felt so at peace than when she was in his arms.
"You're impossible to stop, too." She admitted quietly, forcing her hands to pause. "Is that what you would want to be?" She inquired hesitantly, her lips brushing his as she peered up at him. "My full-time boyfriend?" Even saying the words brought a slight smile upon her lips that she was unable to stop.

Cole always insisted that he was professional, it was something that he took pride in. That he would never let the lines cross between business and personal, and yet there was something about Mariana that was different. He had been pulled in by her and before he knew it one night he was taking off her clothes, and since then he never wanted to be without her. That when the doors to her place or hotel room closed, they were alone and could enjoy it.
"You're impossible to stop." He whispered against her lips, getting lost in her as his hands wrapped around her waist. "Oh yeah? What will it be as this time? Full time boyfriend?" He asked, licking his lips as he felt her hands beginning to wander, God he couldn't say no. The way she looked at him.

Darcy was barely thinking as she hurried to his car without even checking to see if he was following her, all she could focus on was her excitement and determination to prove to him that she was in fact telling the truth. "Yes, I am!" She insisted while climbing into his car. "I wouldn't lie about something like this." She added with a pout.

Alex didn't have time to respond when Darcy was suddenly out of her seat, grabbing her stuff, and rushing for the restaurant entrance. Pulling two hundred dollar bills from his wallet, he gave the receipt to the cashier and the money, told them to keep the change, and followed after Darcy. "Whoa, slow down, give me a chance to catch up," Alex said as he walked to his car, opened the passenger door for her, and then got in himself and made for the beach. "You're serious about this, aren't you?

"I know he won't." Sansa replied quietly, hugging her arms around herself. It wasn't herself she was scared for anymore, not when it felt as if she'd seen and felt it all while in her golden cage. She feared for Robb, she feared for her new sister-in-law, and she feared for Arya, whom they didn't even know where she'd fled to or if she were even alive. "But the Lannister's have no fear, have no morals. They have no honor." That was what scared her. She'd seen without a doubt the extent these Lions would go to, and she feared what they would do to her brother.
Tumblr media
"Your brother will not allow any harm to come to you." Talisa's arm twitched at her side, as if about to reach for Sansa's hand, but she thought better of it. She had been declared The Queen of the North, and now here they were in King's Landing, doing exactly as Robb had declared he would: save his sisters and remove the bastard King Joffrey from the throne. But it was all still so new to Talisa, so foreign. She had hardly been in Westeros more than a few months before this war began, and the customs, the tensions, were all so strange to her. Worse: it seemed one of Robb's sisters was missing, the youngest, and here was the other, Sansa, her family now now, her sister-in-law, but Talisa was entirely unsure how to speak to her. "It'll all be over soon," she assured her. "You will be back home, safe in your own bed, soon enough."

She could agree that their purposes seemed to align - for the most part. She wanted peace, she wanted everyone to be equal and for justice to be served with fire and blood upon the Lannisters. And while she did strive for the Iron Throne, it was hers by right. It was her family's by right and the Baratheon pig had stolen it from her, had wanted her killed for his fear of her. "That all sounds well and good," she began carefully. "however I intend to rule all of the seven kingdoms." Her head cocked to the side, her brows pulling together in confusion. "You would aid me in acquiring the throne, yet still refuse to bend the knee? Why?"
Tumblr media
"Peace," Robb replied simply. "All I have ever wanted, all I have fought for is peace. To free these lands from the tyranny of the Lannisters. If the stories are to be believed, you want the same. And you want the Iron Throne. I have no interest in sitting upon it. All I want is for the North to be free. So let us both get what we desire. My army will help you take King's Landing, and you will give up all rights to the North and allow me to rule my people as an independent kingdom."

BASED ON: n.eon g.ods by ka.tee r.obert. My muse has just found out her mother has made an agreement to marry her to the ‘King’ of the city, who has a reputation for being cruel and killing all his previous wives. Now quite literally running from that fate and away from the men sent after her to capture and bring her back, she runs into you - the ‘king’ of the Underworld, aka the ruler of the other end of the city that many believed was a myth. MUTUALS: Feel free to request another muse.
Everything BURNED. Her bare feet ached and burned with each frantic step she took in running as fast as she possibly could from the men who were gaining on her from behind ( and had she seen men running through the side streets out of the corner of her eyes, or had that been her imagination? ) and her palms stung from having to catch herself on the rough pavement, only to be dragged on said pavement when one of the men had caught her ankle, but a swift kick she’d aimed blindly had assisted her in getting away. And her lungs burned with each freezing intake of air she brought in as she ran, which was somehow never enough.
She just had to make it to the lower city! The bridge was so, so close! And then, she saw a figure standing on the other side of the bridge! But was that her imagination as well? Giving her something to push forward towards? “help me!” Esme cried desperately as she ran towards them, sobbing as her whole body ached but that was the least of her problems if the men behind her caught her and dragged her back. “Please! Help me!”

The only visible sign of his surprise is the slight cocking of his head to the side and an arched brow. Looking at the male in front of him now, Azazel did notice that something felt different, but just hadn't been able to put his finger on what. "You must have really pissed him off, then." Az drawled mildly, hands shoved into the pockets of his pants.
"Yeah, you keep saying that." He didn't necessarily wish to be feared anymore, not in the way he had in the past.
His next words have Azazel straightening up and visibly tensing, his eyes narrowed. "I see some still enjoy talking about me." He responds with instead, jaw ticking. He didn't like that, didn't like that that he was being made to seem weak, no matter how true it secretly was. His brothers may enjoy staying in their gilded cages, but Azazel had stayed on Earth specifically in search of the feeling of connection that humans did, yet never allowed himself to actually find it. "Sounds like you know the feeling fairly well, then." He finally says offhandedly.
"One of your brothers tossed me into a variation of the rebirth cycle where when I die, I am reborn with knowledge of who I was before. It's made me cocky. I don't fear death. I don't fear pain. I don't fear you."
Michael smirked.
"And I've played with fire before. I basked in those purifying flames as they devoured my flesh. I do not fear you."
The musician moved closer.
"So it's true then. The feeling of being alone is getting to you. I know it well. It's...the only true pain I feel."
Michael's eyes held sorrow.
"To be without a connection with another being. To be without someone by your side is the ultimate pain."

"I'm sure you have." Wanda answered dryly, barely suppressing the urge to roll her eyes. With a sigh, she stepped forward and took the cloth from his hands. "At least let me help you." She insisted gently.
Tumblr media
"Yeah well, I've hard worse." He commented, and everyone knew it was true, sighing as he went to get himself a cloth to try and clean himself up. "No-one is as stubborn as Steve. I'm a close second."

Against her will, tears brimmed Demetria's eyes. Not completely for fear of what no doubt awaited her, but for the man in front of her. Aside from the woman who had found her as a babe left at the church and took her in, Dmitri was the only person she had. She, who was bitter and angry at the world and had absolutely nothing, had found a friend in her prince. And all she did, all she continued to do, was cause problems for him. No one had approved of their friendship, not really, but she could never really blame them for that. "You always fight for me." She murmured sadly, shaking her head at herself. Of course, the one time she could manage to finally do something for him in return, she ended up locked in a cell. Unable to look at him, she turned and settled herself on the dirty ground, pulling her knees up to her chest, and stared hard at the floor, rubbing angrily at her eyes. "No one else was there." She answered. Not that she had noticed, really. She'd been so consumed in finding his son that she hadn't paid any mind to her surroundings. "Whoever did it must have just left because he hadn't-" She stopped suddenly, afraid to cause him any distress. Because he hadn't fully drowned yet, she meant to say. He had come so very close to losing his son. "Maybe going back there will help." She offered quietly with a halfhearted shrug of her shoulders. She knew nothing about what was happening to her, knew nothing about what caused it or how to even control it, but if she hadn't been able to force it while sitting in the cell, maybe going to where she found the child would help?
Tumblr media
The very notion that she dared to place herself in a situation where she risked facing the gallows was enough to send Dmitri spiraling into a state of overwhelming anxiety and distress, consumed by the fear of what could befall her. Dmitri's frustration simmered beneath the surface as he tried to make sense of Demetria's cryptic admission. He struggled to contain his emotions, his hurt and confusion manifesting as a sharp edge to his words. His frustration threatened to boil over as he struggled to find a way to make her understand the consequences of her actions, even if she may have meant well all long. "I've been fighting tooth and nail to prove your innocence. I need something to work with, some shred of evidence that I can present to my family." He paced back and forth, his agitation palpable in the air. "I want to believe you, Demetria, I really do. But blind faith isn't going to cut it, not when your life is on the line." She cloaked her words in mystery, which he found irksome. "Maybe if we talk it through, something might come back to you. Did you see anything unusual in the woods? Maybe someone else was there with my son when you went to look?" He sighed, trying a different approach. He attempted to jog her memory, speculating that perhaps she glimpsed something amiss in the woods or encountered someone alongside his son.

She was left to wonder if the good intuition she'd always bore was a sign of something else. The ability to sense when an adult was coming or which path to take when they were children and sneaking out past their bedtimes, giggling away as they ran for the kitchens. Her intuition for sensing the motives of the other children who tried to befriend the young prince or even the adults who tried to shape him a certain way. She'd always just known, so what was so different now? The difference was that this time she'd been overtaken by whatever vision speared into her consciousness, transported to a time and place beyond her physical body, and the thought terrified her.
So if she'd seen a figure taking the baby to woods, why couldn't she have seen their face? "I don't-" she stumbled over her words, blinking rapidly. "I don't think I can." She finally admitted, staring fearfully at him. In her time alone in the cell, she'd tried and tried to force herself into another vision that would help them know who the culprit was, but was left with nothing. "I don't think that's how it works. I don't know how it works." She whispered, eyes downcast. She'd just indirectly admitted that it was far more than her gut that led her out into the woods, but it was the closest she could admit aloud to him what was happening to her. And if she did find out who it was, what then? There was a very likely chance they wouldn't believe her, and either way, they would surely hang her for witchcraft. She was now merely waiting while they dug her grave.
Tumblr media
His eyes drifted upward, meeting Demetria's weary gaze as she leaned against the iron bars of her cell. The sight of her, so fragile and defeated, struck him like a blow to the chest. It was as if all the strength drained from his body in an instant, leaving him feeling utterly powerless. Seeing her in such distress, unable to ease her suffering, tore at his soul, and he felt something deep within him fracture irreparably. Though her argument was compelling, he found himself lingering in a state of bewilderment, unable to reconcile her actions with the boundaries of her duties. She had articulated her desire to aid with sincerity, weaving a tapestry of reasoning that almost swayed his resolve. Yet, despite her earnest intentions, he couldn't shake the nagging question that danced at the edge of his consciousness: why venture beyond the castle walls in pursuit of his missing child? It wasn't her obligation, no matter how passionately she defended her choice. The conflict within him simmered, caught between acknowledging her good intentions and grappling with the perplexity of her actions. "Your gut." He repeated, a wry smile touching his lips as he couldn't help but find irony in the situation. Having spent his formative years surrounded by the wisdom and intuition of women, he knew all too well their inclination to heed that inner voice. It was ingrained in him, a lesson learned through countless interactions and observations. He understood the power of intuition, how it could guide one through uncertain times and lead to unexpected discoveries. He was certain that Demetria harbored no intentions of causing him harm. Yet, for the first time in what seemed like an eternity, despite the countless lessons and moments of sparring with his knights, he found himself experiencing a rare sense of vulnerability. "Can your gut find the person responsible for my son's disappearance?" It would be her only hope, and indirectly he was offering Demetria her way out.
