Drawing this one made me so emotional. I just love how attentive Damen was in realizing Laurent was fighting with himself in that moment.
I had far too much free time on my hand this week, so I kept going.
I wanted to try a cleaner way of drawing a comic page this time. The more rougher "coloring" style worked great for the fight scenes, but I wasn't sure about it for emotional ones... even if it did, I really like to try things out and see what happens.

I made the mistake with this one to change the lighting half way through the painting which always messes with the values and colors, but oh well. Sometimes a painting doesn't go the way you want to and then you got to let it go. But I still like the overall comp and all that, so you get to see it, haha. Maybe I manage to be a bit clearer in terms of values with that extra painting that I have planned for this scene, because this scene is just too good to only get one.

i love how in the hello lover scene laurent is trying to be petty throwing damen’s words from when they were having sex back in his face and i’m just reading like my dude!!! my son!!! you literally remember everything he said, you’ve memorized every word both in akielon and veretian, you’ve probably replayed them in your head a hundred times not quite believing that damen would say such things about you or that he would feel this way,,,,,, SIT TF DOWN LAURENT YOU’RE NOT SUBTLE!!!!
