“I want to talk about what happened without mentioning how much it hurt. There has to be a way. To care for the wounds without reopening them. To name the pain without inviting it back into me.”

🍒
🍒  :    HOW MUCH DOES MY MUSE VALUE COMPANIONSHIP?  DO THEY CONSTANTLY KEEP PEOPLE AROUND THEM,  OR DO THEY PREFER TO BE ALONE OFTEN?  DO THEY HAVE OR DESIRE TO HAVE MANY FRIENDS?  DO THEY SEE EVERY MEETING AS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A NEW FRIEND?
-------------
(( I have bad habit of subconsciously sticking to a Type of character I love- Narancia is no exception. Just like Nozomi he’s a very needy boy about friendship and socializing. I feel Narancia takes it to the extreme in a sense though. Before the gang he quite literally had No One, his mother Mela was the only person in his life who gave a shit; some part of his eagerness to be useful so people want him around and making sure people stay around- I think in part it came in reaction to the loss after her death. Narancia was just 10, a very tender age to be left alone with a father who then let his true colors show without his wife to counterbalance them.
Everything after the day she died was him trying anything to fill that void where she’d been. His father giving him no support was the very start. In his heart I don’t think he ever processed all his grief; part of him is mourning her subconsciously and consciously. He expresses it by overexerting himself for others, by being naive to think if he just tries hard enough others will recognize him as his mother did. That he’ll be a ‘good boy’ if he’s useful, trash to be thrown away if he’s not, as his father implied by abandoning him
All this got him was betrayal and almost dead living on the streets. No one ever sat him down that we know of and tried helping him process this incident of loss either. So rather than learn something positive on how to better himself from something horrible, he buried the desperation and pain beneath overcompensating anger and mood swings. He remained mentally a child in large part (no surprise why Aerosmith looks like a toy)
So to avoid getting off track yeah I think Narancia craves attention on one hand because he virtually never felt loved, and on the other if he doesn’t Serve something he’s left with how empty and meaningless life is utterly alone; he goes back to how he was when his eye got infected, and he’ll claw tooth and nail to never revert to that again
Its like 3:24 am as I write this so I’m not sure I’m making total sense- this ties into what I mean at the core))

———-
(( Oh Summer absolutely, he’s got a temper, he likes roamin around when the sun’s out, his outer side tends to look like the life of a party- I get big summer vibes off that. Away from the fun associations though that’d obvious, I think he embodies summer best because its a season that for most people passes before they realize. Its common to think and say you can blink in June and suddenly its the end of August. Its fun, romantic, muggy, turbulent, and exciting- above all else its ephemeral. That fits Narancia’s life, his whirlpool of emotions, and his abrupt end very well. And of course when summers end usually you can’t wait for the next one-  for people he cares for I think that’s what being around him, meeting and parting (in life or death), feels like. They wanna see him again))

“ you lost, bud? you're lookin' confused. ”
“Hey!”
Without a moment to spare he stabbed a finger on the man’s chest. In a stride he gnashed his teeth; his glare was that of a bristled beast. His voice however was hoodlum from start to finish. The same tone that emptied wallets and shouted after bare-knuckled brawls throughout Naples.
“You callin me stupid? I have a map. I ain’t just some tourist, remember that!”

“I ain’t spillin’ nothin! You’re the one going double ‘an shit.”
His words were a spit shooting slur as he scowled. Wait, why were there three Fugos now? He blinked hard and saw spots. Five Fugos formed a wall. All flickered hazy as a mirage; all but the center, the one eyeing him hardest.
“Fuck why are there a bunch’a you?!”

In my opinion, Fugo is one of the most underrated characters in Vento Aureo. I love him so much! ♥️
