   The pencil flew across the pages of her diary as she jot down any and every passing thought, important details from the day. She’d never been particularly good at keeping up a diary as of late, most days she was just too forgetful. But every so often, things needed to be written down, things that didn’t deserve to disappear into oblivion.

   Hearing footsteps coming up the stairs of her house, Elena turned her eyes up towards her open door, waiting for whoever it was to pass. As they came into view she jumped slightly, a small gasp sending a chill down her spine. “What are you doing here?”
