is anyone up thinking about . here by the lake what a vision you are in the light of the emerald star i've come for you my love through a window in the dark don't you know you're my everything? if i lost you i think i would die was everything you said just a lie?you never loved me i came all the way through time and space to take you away and out of this place with the moonlight in your eyes you're the brightest star in all of the sky i'll cry and i'll cry if your light ever dies oh what a jewel are you and oh what a fool am i for squandering my love on an emerald in the sky way out here in the void is the loneliest place to die when everything you loved is a lie you never loved me i came all the way through time and space to take you away and out of this place you're an emerald in the sky you light up the night by blinkin' your eyes i'll cry and i'll cry if your light ever dies
and then like. an insane instrumental that feels like spiraling into the grief of realizing you never had the love you thought you did . anyon-

Why pay for therapy when I can just watch every episode of Alive from Whispering Pines over and over again?🥰

Listening to “Way Out There” makes me want to stick my head under water and scream until I pass out. (affectionately)

I think it’s great that The Night We Met became the song that Lord Huron has become known for…but in my opinion it’s not even their saddest song. That title goes to Emerald Star.
TNWM is about losing something that used to be beautiful. Someone who loved you too much. It’s full of memory. There is a sad conclusion, but a conclusion nonetheless.
While Emerald Star is loving someone so intensely, so deeply that it literally kills you, only to learn that person never loved you at all. You wasted a lifetime trying to make a person happy, all for nothing. There is no bittersweet goodbye or conclusion. Only a black void of regret.

I’ve been thinking about seasons a lot and have come to this conclusion!
Tumblr media
Lonesome Dreams is for springtime. New beginnings, saying goodbye to certain memories, and walking out of it all with people that matter. Not allowing loss to consume you, but still acknowledging it.
Tumblr media
Long Lost is for summertime. Explorin! Cowboys! Summer love! Independence! But also, dealing with regret and old relationships. And of course, choking on nostalgia strong enough to drown in. Typical summer activities :)
Tumblr media
Strange Trails is for fall. Singing about hunting ghosts, running from something equivalent to the end of the world, and then finding the one you love in nature and trees and flowers. Only to have to let each other ago again…which then brings us to the second half of the album, or the beginning of winter. The loneliness and longing that feels like it can’t be satiated.
Tumblr media
And then, Vide Noir completes our seasons with more winter. Not necessarily the weather of it, but the feeling of it. Being lost and having to claw your way back to spring, only to still feel that emptiness you were trying so hard to escape. Spending the whole season searching for something that didn’t want to be found.
I hurt my own feelings writing this :,)
