That’s what she was used to being, Eye candy or target. and this, this was either, of course she couldn’t totally tell if he was sexually attracted.
“Tanner-” she repeats, a small smirk pulling at the corner of her lips as his thumb runs across her knuckles. there it is. an attraction. “Oh, so you have that much pull with authorities?” she questions teasingly, “I’m keeping my eye on you mister. I’m telling you. One red flag. One.” she laughs. As much as she should, she wasn’t going to dwell on trusting him. It was relatively easy to get out of a shitty situation when you have a list of supernatural abilities. Of course she nver put them to good use. Petty theft, the occasional murder. She was selfish with her abilities, only ever doing what made her feel good at the end of the night.
“Eh-” she shrugged as she reached for another cigarette, “Leave him. He’s an only child. parents dead. abusive drunk who picks up a new woman every night. no one will miss him. Probably won’t even make the news.” she lights her cigarette and takes a drag, letting the smoke plume before her, “already wanting to get alone with me?” she nods with a laugh before forcefully locking her arm with his, “Lead the way, handsome. Get me some food, and a shower and I’ll answer whatever questions you got for me.”
“I’m trustworthy!” Tanner gave a grin and bounced on his feet. “You’ll trust me soon enough. I know you will! Lots of people like me. In fact, I don’t think I know anyone who doesn’t.” He gives a smile. “I’m not affiliated with police, but I do have connections to other people. I’m not giving that away now though, something like that should be earned. Besides if I gave away all my secrets then it would be less fun.”
Tanner looked down at the man’s body and gave it a thought over. Well, if the man didn't have a good life, then he supposed that the loss wouldn’t matter like she said. Not that he had any proof of this, but he felt as if he could trust Rose, which was weird seeing as he didn’t have anything to go on other than his stalking of her and that was enough for him. “I didn’t mean it like that unless you want me to.” He gave a laugh and waved his hand dismissively as he walked in front of her. “C’mon, I know just the place, but you have to promise not to tell anyone about it, alright?”
