I'd love for you all to interact/follow this blog!
Essentially I'll probably leave this blog open and I will either use it for cannon max or aged max.
( the other blog will be developing my canon divergent max mayfeild inspired by the theory mentioned in this post. Further info will be posted on said blog.)
When Max is introduced you think she’s gonna be a stereotypical tomboy, but she has way more depth
Like instead of being the stereotypical guy’s girl who says shit like, “I only hang out with guys cause girls are too much drama,” she walks right up to Eleven, so excited to introduce herself and become friends with this girl she’s heard so much about
And even though Mike’s feelings for Eleven are what’s keeping him from letting her into the party, she recognizes that’s not Eleven’s fault and she doesn’t hold it against her (she’s more emotionally mature at 13 than I am now, tbh)
She uses words like “presumptuous” and “derivative”
You’d think after everything she’s been through with her family, she’d be emotionally closed off, but she’s so vulnerable and honest with Lucas while they talk on top of the bus
She straight up stabs her abusive step-brother with a syringe to stop him from beating up Steve (LIKE SHE PROBABLY SAVED STEVE’S LIFE, NBD), not only badass but such a smart move
And then she takes her babysitter’s bat with nails and tells Billy that his abuse towards her and her friends ends now. what a brave bamf.
She wears pants to the snow ball because it’s what she feels comfortable in and doesn’t give a fuck what anyone else thinks (and she still looks super cute and feminine)
anyways I’m tired of seeing post about how excited people are about how Mike and Eleven will eventually get along with Max. Let’s get some posts talking about how my boy Lucas was good to her from the start because he’s amazing like that.
Max folded her hands behind her back and grinned shaking her head, one over the other that was clutching something. And here she was thinking it'd be difficult to get steve to bend to her will, which she knew she could do eventually, being that max had her own kind of persuasion. Of course by appealing to his ego by threatening it he was quick to act. "Men." She muttered under her breath with an eye roll not even realizing she's said it out loud.
She furrowed her fiery red brows together and pursed her rose bud hued lips slightly shaking her head in denial now. "Oh no, your mistaken. You actually think I'd get those wastoids to race me? I mean they're great and all but it's rare they beat me in anything much less a foot race." Max explained, she'd meant she'd get one of the boys to deal with Steve when he seemed upset but he was ok now. Max may have got the smack-talk from her brother, but that's where she'd end any similarities for the time being.
Max slighly uncovered the item from behind her bag, revealing a pair of steves sunglasses she pocketed without him realizing. "Bring it, Hairrington." Max spoke through a slight giggle, take off down the side walk, easily dodging the people walking home from school, shoving anyone slightly who didn't move, her red head blowing in the wind behind her like a blazing trail of fire.
“ Catch me if you can! ” { from @powermadmax}
“I’m not catching anyone. I’ve had my amount of catching ‘things’ already by now. I’m not going to run behind you like an 11 year old who wants to impress a random girl. Besides, I’m not on babysitting duty today.”
Max couldn't blame the girl for not taking the same immensity of admiration of the stars, for they had a special meaning to max. Her dad knew all the names of the stars; he'd tell them to max when she was younger and point them out. Sometimes he'd even put the names into a song and sing her too sleep. It was all she had left of him now. But this was no time to dredge up the past as max had already assured herself
Max let out a long drawn out exhale.
"That's a great question. I guess everything. As long as it's not stupid." Max admitted. Max was a pretty carefree chick. She didn't expend so much effort unless she had to.
"If I think of something I'll let you know. I'm the mean time; it'd be helpful to know more about you nine." Max went on.

“Personally. I think they’re too articfical. I’d rather just star gaze.”
Max said pointedly her back falling back against the roof with a thud, a blanket of thick red hair now spread around her as blue eyes peered through the sky. Max swallowed hard and allowed her self to relax slightly; not fully, no she could never truly let her guard down. Especially considering she barely knew nine. But she couldn’t seem to get ahold of the others.
They all had families to spend their time with and max- well, max never like to be at home, especially on holidays. It was to weird, Neil and Susan forcing them suddenly to try and be a family then Neil going beserk because they weren’t that kind of family and it never worked out. And well she figured he just preferred to be angry and yelling. But also nine knew none of this, and max was glad. Because if max could put it out of her mind their was no way nine could bring it up.
“But I’m glad you like them.” Max added softly, turning her head toward the other.
The edges of her smile fell, brow creasing thoughtfully. It wasn’t as if Max was wrong; by definition, fireworks were artificial. But did that make them bad? They were beautiful, splashes of colour against a dark sky. Stars were pretty too, of course, but they were always there. Nine liked to - what did Max call it? - stargaze, but the stars were there every night, never changing. Fireworks were…exciting.
She followed the other girl’s lead and lay back against the roof, eyes lighting up again as another firework went off. “What do you like?” It would only be fair to do something that Max would enjoy after this, right?
"Your just grumpy because you know I'm too fast for you." Max stated proudly, even if she'd deflated a little at his dismissive attitude. Max was known to be incredibly fast, on her skateboard and off.
Max crossed her arms. "Maybe I should go get one of the guys..." max began her voice trailing off. Max wasn't one to console people or cheer people up. She was the kind of person to immediately answer with 'suck it up'z

"I wouldn't if you value all your fingers, wheeler."Max chided, raising an eyebrow at the taller boy. Today, The red heads patience matched her size. No it wasn't mikes fault- but yes he would still get some of the bite.

“They’re pretty.”
The statement was called over her shoulder, eyes still fixed on the sky above while her feet dangled carelessly over the edge of the roof. She probably shouldn’t be up there but how could she resist? They were big, and bright, and beautiful, lighting the sky with a million billion more stars each time they shot high into the night, erupting with a burst of sparks; red, blue, green, orange, purple, all the colours of the rainbow and more.
