Three Moons Tea: Eros
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Description:
Bathed in the moon's glow, Eros, the winged messenger of love, weaves through celestial realms, casting enchanting arrows upon hearts. Sipping starlit tea, I'm drawn into his influence, where every sip feels like a sweet elixir of affection. In the cosmic embrace, love becomes a timeless journey, guided by Eros beneath the watchful eye of the moon, the silent witness to countless love stories written in the silver ink of the night.
Ingredients:
A sensual blend of Chocolate Black Tea, Damiana, and Rose Petals.
Review:
In case you couldn't have guessed from my other posts here, I consider myself witchy. When I saw that Three Moons had a blend dedicated to Eros (an underappreciated God in my humble opinion), I was captivated and knew I had to try it.
The tea is familiar, it reminds me of Witching Hour, but no anise flavor and amped up chocolate! The roses and cacao nibs are th3 strongest notes- a perfect pairing for those in a romantic (or perhaps spicy) mood.

There is easy low hanging fruit here, especially about the US and salty tea. And I'm so SO tempted.
But also I'm super in to tea and I'm bored.
The perfect cup of tea is how you want to drink it, and if you do not LIKE tea then drinking it a different way, or a different kind of tea, vastly changes it.
A pinch of salt makes things less bitter, this trick also works with coffee. But other things that affect taste are tempriture, length of time it brews, where the tea was grown, the climate, the soil, and how big the leaves are. Some of the cheapest tea has little more than dust in the tea bag while more expensive teas you will notice have more structure to the leaves.
Tea brewed in colder tempeitures needs longer and creates a different taste. It may require more tea to get the specific flavour you want, and generally it is less bitter for it. Similar thing to spices where if you cook them, use them hot, toast them first, etc, you get a different set of flavours to using them cold.
Like wine, tea can have lots of flavour profiles and colours. Assam for example is very dark, malty, and strong, it can get quite bitter. Ceylon is much lighter. Darjeeling is good with lemon, but Assam is better with milk, in my humble opinion. Lapsang Sushong is very smokey. Earl Grey
Most people will drink a mix. English breakfast is usually a mix of Assam, Ceylon, and Kenyan. Earl Grey is flavoured with bergamot.
White, green, and black tea all come from the same plant, just different parts of it, treated differently. Black tea can take a higher tempriture, but boiling water on green and white tea will scorch the leaves and make it very bitter. Agitating the tea can also have this effect as it releases more tannin.
As a general rule there is a tea for everyone, and a way to drink it that you will enjoy, whether that's hot, cold, mixing it with spices, flavourings, fruit, milk, sugar, lemon, and yes, even a pinch of salt.
I would not, however, recommend tea that has been in the Boston harbour.

2022 Boat Captain | White2Tea | Raw Puerh
Tumblr media
Consuming this nice tea in its mini cake form! I always love getting mini tea cakes or dragon balls from W2T. Makes it so easy to bring to work, but, today I’m having it at home. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Boat Captain that made me think I would enjoy it. Aroma is smokey with notes of tobacco and spice. However, this tea tastes very young. The smoke flavor is strong and forward, with hints of bitter tobacco and spiced wood. But the bitterness is still off putting to me. If anything, I would love to see this tea aged maybe ten years down the line. These notes are already appealing to me, and with age to settle the bitterness, it could become a very lovely tea. If it’s still available in a few years, I’ll have to try it again and maybe even cake it.

SU Characters as Coffee/Tea
I can't recommend the game Slasher U by @slasheru enough! In celebration of it reaching its goal, I thought I'd make a list of some of the characters as different tea/coffee blends!
HEX
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hex would 100% be a fan Electric Unicorn by Bones coffee! Sugary and sweet, just like him.
Tate
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tate's favorite drink is black coffee with two shots of espresso. For him, I'm going with Death Wish's Dark Roast.
Juno
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't care that Kahlua isn't exactly a coffee or tea blend. This is Juno we're talking about.
Laila
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Laila is a decedent and fancy blooming tea- I recommend Violet Moon by California Tea House!
Sawyer
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sawyer is 'Ravens in the Library,' by Dryad Tea. This is a fancy loose leaf Earl Grey blend, something perfect for a long night of studying law.

I recently tried the Starbucks 'Tribute Blend' as a cold brew. Wow! Can't recommend it enough, honestly. It was very smooth and not that acidic. You could really TASTE the flavors in it. I paired it with some chocolate cold foam and cinnamon to really make it pop.
This year's blend has notes of black cherry and baking spices. Despite being a barista for almost two years, I still feel incredibly new to coffee tasting. But it wasn't hard to pick up the flavors on this blend!
It's a medium roast. I don't know how much longer it'll be released but I definitely recommend snagging some up if you can!

Dryad Tea: Oracle's Oath
Tumblr media
Description:
Enjoy this sweet and fruity blend of watermelon oolong and lime green tea, spiced with ginger for a hint of the danger that one must face for the oath.  The Oath of the Oracle, said to be a test of self, if one is lucky enough to take it.
Ingredients:
Oolong, green tea, papaya pieces, plum + safflower petals, ginger, lemon pieces, sweetlime pieces*, natural flavors (organic compliant).(*Sweetlime pieces: Glucose syrup, concentrated lemon juice, sugared apricot halves, modified starch, thickening agent E401, flavor.)
This is the first miss, sadly. This tea isn't bad- just not to my tastes. It has a very strong watermelon flavor to it which is great if you're a fan of watermelon. Myself personally? No.
This tea reads like fruit punch. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys very fruity teas and loves watermelon.

It's really good! My only note is that the licorice taste is a bit stronger than the rose one. However, the seller has a bunch of other teas with rose in them strongly as well!!
Three Moons Tea: Witching Hour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Description:
Live Deliciously. Witching Hour is a decadent blend of Chocolate black tea, smoky cinnamon, rose petals and Star Anise. Blended under the full Hunter’s Moon this tea is perfect for a Samhain night ritual. This tea tastes like a midnight ritual around a blazing wood fire. Tea comes in a 5 serving tin. According to folklore the witching hour or devil’s hour is when ghosts, witches, and demons are most active and supernatural events take place. The thin veneer between the living and the dead crumbles during this time of night and the presence of otherworldly beings are more felt by humans and animals.
Ingredients:
Chocolate black tea, smoky cinnamon, rose petals and Star Anise.
This is an utterly delectable chocolate/licorice tasting tea with a slight floral taste. Unlike 'The Witch of the Woods' (which I'll review later), there's no one overpowering note here.
Unlike other teas I've reviewed from this seller, this one doesn't sparkle. I don't think that takes away from the tea at all, though- especially when it tastes as delicious as it does.
