Tourism Whistler has created a Media Room that largely differs from other media outlets. This media has provided other journalists with stock images and additional information about the company in order to help other journalists when writing about their company. The most useful tool on this website would be the search tool because there is no guessing on where to find the needed information. It is a real time saver.

In order to successfully market a company or product, it is important to first develop a buyer persona so that you best appeal to your intended customer. For Target, the intended customer is a young woman who is typically white and makes an average of $65,000 a year. The best way to communicate a message to a younger audience is through social media.

Due to the increase in availability in media production equipment, more people are able to create their own shows. This has extended to included podcasts as well. One of my favorite podcasts is called “Whorible Decisions”. Based on the world play in the title, it is clear that the podcast features adult content. I enjoy this podcast because I think sexual education is important, but is not always provided through a more traditional education. There are new episodes every week that are roughly an hour long each. I enjoy that they take the podcast route because I think it gives more anonymity to the guests that they bring on. Although names are stated, I do not feel the urge to try to find these people online and I do not have a sense of what they look like. Because of this the guests are likely to feel more comfortable telling their personal experiences on the sex topics that are being discussed that day. Air New Zealand is a brand that does an amazing job at conveying a message without directly trying to sell you something. They have created several safety videos on Youtube that have received millions of views. In this video they not only address the regular safety precautions that are shown before a flight takes off, but they also speak about wildlife reservation. Their videos include diverse actions of all ages and races which will make all viewers feel included as well. Not only does it inform the public about what one must do if there is a plane emergency, but also highlights endangered wildlife.

With every developed brand there is almost always a team behind it. With the explosion of social media a brand has now expanded to not only mean a company, but influencers as well. One example of a very popular tie Tok influencer is @Adamrayokay. His popularity has increased exponentially in last few months. Despite his popularity and the constant demand for new content, he has maintained a spacious, but consistent schedule. He posts about once every week revery other week. This may seem insufficient, but every single one of his videos goes viral. With spaces in between every post, he allows each video to receive its shine before another one is posted. People make videos in response to his and also make reenactments. When it comes to social media, there are several people who become “one hit wonders” and then are not able to extend their success. Adam has been able to find the balancing between disappearing completely and posting to often that people get tired of him.

With the world moving everything online, there are a lot of websites that have an overwhelming amount of information. It is the host’s responsibility to make sure that the information is organized for the reader’s pleasure. Although I do not agree with the content found upon this website, the have been successful in organizing the large amount of information it contains. Goop.com 
The topics range from health and lifestyle to fashion, cooking, travel and sex. They have articles giving recommendations but also manage to have covert advertising that does not disrupt the reader’s eyes or worsen the site experience.

A perfect example pot unintentional advertising would be a video posted by Jeffree Star about a year ago. The video is titled “$8.00 Elf Primer VS. $52.00 Tatcha Primer”. In the video Star compares the affordable makeup primer to a very high end company. He states that they have the same results for a very different price. As a result, the primer is constantly sold out and there are several people searching for it. Jeffree Star is one of the most watched makeup you tubers, so he has a very wide and diverse audience. After the video was posted, the information spread to twitter where it gained more popularity.

Identify two brands that do a good job at delivering their messages on social media. Write about the platforms they use, and why they are effective.
Wendys and FashionNova are the first two brands that came to mind. Wendy’s is known for their Twitter account where they’re not afraid to call out their competition. Wendy’s was the first of its kind in taking a less formal approach when it comes to managing their social media account(s). They have called McDonald’s and other companies while promoting their own products. Because of the shock factor of many of their statements, more attention was drawn to the company.
Another brand that has done a great jobs with the use of social media is FashionNova. This startup was able to grow their business from scratch to 12 millions followers. They have now been able to infiltrate the market with the use of influencer marketing. It now seems like every instagram model is working with this company. There is an image of what a “NovaBabe” is and many girls aspire to be the living version of that image.
