I know AI can be difficult to spot, but even as it gets better, if you want to know how you can tell the difference between true art drawn by hand and AI that was maybe rendered (a little) afterwards, look for symmetry.
Actual hand drawn art is symmetrical. Hair that blows off into the background on just one side? Probably AI. A necklace that stretches over one end of the characters body but not the other? Probably AI. Artists notice those details and will make them symmetrical, AI doesn't concern itself with those details.
The eyes are another one. AI eyes are usually a little cross-eyed or strange. If you stare at them, you'll notice mismatched pupils or more white on one side than the other.
I've been seeing more AI Lucien in the tags recently. I know no one in this fandom intends to support AI stolen from our artists (except for the people creating it and passing it off as their own), and I think just knowing the tells of AI makes us all better consumers of fan works. We should continue to support the artists who keep creating content because they love the same books as us, and whole-sale rejecting AI no matter how "realistic" you think it looks. It's stolen. I've seen AI generated images being passed around that were clearly fed @krem-does-stuff's art, which is a shame because she hand paints every piece she does and that takes time.
There is no skill, no talent, no love for the community in AI.

Happy spring, everyone!! 🌸💙
I posted the line art for this illustration ages ago and got really intimidated trying to learn to color in Procreate and I put it aside for months and months. And then a few more months after that. 😅 But it’s finally finished!!
The concept is based on my headcanon that Azriel returns from his travels and brings Elain flowers and foliage from the destinations he visits. He describes these places to her in great detail because he knows how much she loves hearing about them, and she's always entirely captivated and listens so attentively. 🥹 Usually, he brings small bouquets with a bunch of native plants and wildflowers from that area, but this time, I imagine he made a quick pass through the Spring Court and wanted to make sure he returned with the most beautiful rose he could find for his lovely flower girl.🌹
(If this sounds familiar, it’s because I mentioned this headcanon in both of my stories in different ways!)
I could definitely see Azriel seeking Elain’s company when she roams the beautiful, quiet places far from the city, like this meadow past the mountains of Velaris. I imagine that she was wandering around and was kneeling in the wild grasses while collecting wildflowers when he surprised her with a visit. 🥰
I also love the idea that Azriel will take her to all of these far-off places one day, just to explore and enjoy them! I also wonder if they might be sent to foreign lands together to use their powers for intelligence missions.
I’m dedicating this one to @ultadverb ❤️(who isn’t on Tumblr anymore). She was my very first fandom friend and is a wonderful person!! Ever since I started sharing my writing, she’s helped me by answering so many questions and she has always been so supportive and kind to me. 💗 She’s always lifted me up whenever I was lacking confidence in my writing and I’m so thankful to have her as a friend. 🥰
I also wanted to send a big thank you to @gracieart for taking the time to share her technique for Azriel’s scars with me, and to @krem-does-stuff for the recommendation to add flowers in the front!! 💗🫶🏻

Summary: In 1968, Eris Vanserra is leading a double life. In West Berlin, he is a promising new doctor who frequents queer clubs, fucking his way through his friend circle. In his parents’ village, though, he walks the thin line between success and failure under his father’s brutal repression. Eventually, he realizes there can be no way forward unless he takes matters into his own hands.

I will put warnings at the beginning of each chapter, too, but…you know, this fic is about killing Nazis. However, there will be no onscreen violence against Jewish people. For chapter 1, there are no warnings.
chapter one
The first vivid memory he has of his father is wreathed in flame. Beron’s face, hollowed by war and nearly obscured by plumes of billowing, acrid smoke, peers down into the heart of the bonfire.
He looks sick, Eris thinks. His small hand is nearly crushed in Beron’s bigger one, but he knows better than to pull away.
“People like us,” Beron begins, his voice grey and smoky too, “we have to hide who we are. What we’ve been.”
The flames are licking at the pile of fabric in front of them; their vicious fingers claw into the growing night.
