While I’m ok with this, I think they shouldn’t have called it “Thor” because “Thor” is not a title. It’s the dudes name. Sure, give her Mjolnir and all of its powers, but really? Thor, the god, is still around and kicking.  It’s weird.

Remember last summer, when a bunch of sexist trolls freaked out after Marvel announced that the superhero Thor would be a woman in the rebooted comic book series? Yes, well, those trolls have absolutely not been vindicated, according to sales data on the first four new “Thor” books that began selling last November. Fusion broke down sales figures compiled by ComiChron, and it turns out that feminist Thor is selling significantly better than old school dude Thor.

So “The Green Ranger” posted the print on his facebook, and I have been reading the comments about it (Over 2000 of them) and people are having such a hard time accepting that there are two women kissing! Most are trying to justify it with “Well, in the Japanese version, the yellow ranger was a dude, so that makes this ok!” First off, fine. That’s true. The original Yellow Ranger was a dude in Japan. However, consider the fact that there’s a Death Star in the background (Awesome.) It’s shooting a RAINBOW colored laser beam (Again, Awesome.) Clearly this is an American printing. The artist labelled it “Girls Night Out” but to be fair, nobody knows that by viewing the print. Second, why the heck is -that- the reason the picture is acceptable? Two girls kissing is so obviously wrong. Let’s ignore the fact it’s fiction. Let’s ignore the fact it’s a picture of just pure absurdity to feature two Power Rangers and a Rainbow Death Star. People are really looking at a humorous piece of art thinking, “This is disgusting…unless it’s the Japanese version, than it’s ok!” I don’t know why it bothers me so much. I know arguing with people on the internet is futile and pointless. It just irritates me to no end how some of these people try to justify these things! Why can’t these people just enjoy some awesome art for what it is!? I have no idea how Jason David Frank feels about it personally, but he seemed amused when he saw it, signed it, and was a very cool guy throughout the entire convention. I’ve gained a lot of respect for him and his devotion to his fans. I was always a Red Ranger fan, but now maybe…just maybe the Green Ranger is alright in my book.

My only regret of buying this print and having it signed by Jason David Frank, is that I have to now give it to Jessica and can't keep it for myself. :(

The artist (David Beyer Jr.) was a really cool guy and seemed excited that we got the Green Ranger to sign it. I told him I probably got him some good publicity!

Jason David Frank (Green/White Ranger) was also really cool. Seemed to genuinely enjoy his fans and mingle with the crowd. He laughed, took a picture of this print and posted it on his facebook (Where it currently has nearly 2000 comments, 11,000 likes, and 1500 shares.)

Yesterday, my sister and brother-in-law went to Comicon, where they found this quirky piece of art and promptly bought a print. The artist (David Beyer) told them it was based on a true story.

After they bought it, they saw Jason David Frank (who played the green ranger) signing autographs, so they got it signed!
