… but if you insist on investing roughly half of your cap into just four of your guys, they can’t all be forwards! as evidence suggests, yes, you will be rewarded! …with (checks notes) an impressive “lol we haven’t been shut out!” streak, and not much else. so i think if you are dead set on a core 4 then it should consist of two forwards a defenceman and a goaltender. i think. I think!
i shan’t say anything else, but i guess that’s my answer: i’d change the formula!

i think marc andre fleury is a good answer? i know there was that almost deal that shanny ended up nullifying (THANK GOD) ((APPARENTLY MATTHEW KNIES WAS PART OF THE RETURN?)) (((HORRIFIC TO IMAGINE))) but like, if i could make it happen now, i would, in a heartbeat. future hall of famer + amazing mentor for woller + they’d make a steady tandem + one more dilf + he has the personality to thrive in this group. recipe for success !!

i'll say what i said to all my friends when the topic of Will They Won't They inevitably entered our chat: if i could choose just one guy to keep, any guy, i'd keep mitch. no brainer.
matter of fact, i think they also want to keep mitch. elite young player, of course they do! it's just that with this team, everything is dictated by the circumstances - instead of throwing punches, they tend to just roll with them.
the circumstances now demand the changes they asked for a year ago, and mitch just happens to be one of the easier pieces to move. long story short. long, dreadful, backed yourself into a corner and now there is nowhere for you to go story short.
i hope i'm wrong though! i often am :)
