San Francisco outranked by New York City as the top tech city in a recent study by Savills
Tumblr media
The city of San Francisco is known for its vibrant tech community and a hot spot for start-ups, but according to a recent study, the city may no longer be the “top dog” for the tech community.
A new study by the real estate firm Savills showed that New York City is the top tech city worldwide, a title that was previously given to San Francisco three years in a row.
Tumblr media
According to Savills’ website, “New York has emerged as the premier Tech City in this year’s index, overtaking San Francisco. Access to a deep talent pool and the city’s reputation as a global center of commerce makes New York the global leader.”
The City by the Bay got bumped down to number two on the list. In addition to New York’s deep talent pool and reputation, the Savills’s Index also states the several world-renowned universities, a business-focused culture and global links, and that the city stands out with its ability to attract world-class talent as a key determinator.
The six index categories that are taken into account include business environment, tech environment, city buzz and wellness, talent pool, real estate costs and mobility.
Tumblr media
Savills Tech Cities index measures 30 cities from around the world against 100 individual metrics to establish which cities are the most successful homes for tech and start-up companies.
