This Life Of Mine

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, I came to live to the United States when I married my husband. We've lived in several states and just relocated to Iowa from Arkansas on January 9, 2022. Living with my husband, Oscar the cat, Walter and Lou the dogs, my life sometimes is nice and easygoing but then it turns into a roller coaster. Always fighting my weight and try to eat well, but love junk food, it's a never ending fight. Love ❤️to travel and see new places.

Back in Waterloo. Yesterday we had a good day. We had lunch at Eggscellent Cafe with Michael and met his new girlfriend. We liked her, she’s very nice.

Right after lunch we stopped by the bakery where Little Bit is working now with her sister Cynthia, we got a small cake to celebrate my birthday which was last Wednesday.

I got dropped off at Sophie’s bridal shower. Evidently the groom’s mom did not want to play the regular games so instead we did some painting party thing 🙄 I can’t say that I enjoyed it but I got over it, it was fun to see everyone.

In the evening we went back to Janice’s house and met everyone there, had some pizza and cake, the little man was having too much fun playing with the toys that belong to Janice’s granddaughters.

After all of them left, poor Michael called and said that a Domino’s pizza driver hit his car. His new car. That’s so unfortunate. I guess it could had been worse but dang his nice new car. I feel bad for him.

This morning we got a late start, we were exhausted from the last couple of days but definitely had a ride than Friday. Stop to eat by Cracker Barrel in O’Fallon MO right after St. Louis. It was overcast most of the way and it rained on and off the last hour.

Tomorrow I’m working until 3:30, I’m not looking forward to it. We’ve been having problems with the evening receptionist, she didn’t go last week, she was supposedly sick Monday through Wednesday and Thursday no one had heard from her , later she said she was at home so she didn’t even bother to let anyone know she wasn’t going. Not sure what’s going on there so I’m wondering if she’ll show up tomorrow. She usually calls in Mondays or Thursdays.

We drove yesterday to Arkansas. The weather from Waterloo to St. Louis was horrible. We hydroplaned all over the place, after St. Louis it got better though. I saw this morning that there were a bunch of tornadoes on the west of Iowa starting near DesMoines.

David went this morning to change the back tires of the car and come to find out he had to change all the tires ☹️ who knew!

Now visiting the grandbebe, he’ll go down for a nap at noon then we’ll meet Michael and his girlfriend to eat brunch and then I’ll go to Sophie’s bridal shower.

We went to Cedar Rapids last Sunday as David wanted to go to a stamp exhibition. We decided to exploit a bit and quickly. We’ll have to go back with a bit more time and go to some of the museums around.

Our friend Tonya came in last week and got an interview with one of the colleges in the area. They offered her the job today. I really hope she accepts as she has been wanting to move here for a while. Her little dog died yesterday, he had lots of health issues so I hope this will lift up her spirits.

When you start at 7:45 am and there’s already a fire unit in the building.

There was something going on with some guy, I still don’t know what. Then, someone who has been banned from the building came in. Then someone testing the alarms came in at the same time. Then another homeless guy came in asking some weird questions. Etc, etc. It’s been a busy morning. And it’s only 8:30.

My sisters always want to checkout the pictures and make sure that they look close to perfect. I actually like the pictures where you look just like you are. These pictures are what they call the bloopers and just share them today.
