every retail job has a specific brand of asshole customer unique to that job and when I started working at a bank i became familiar with the customers who will start saying random numbers as you are counting cash back to them in the attempt to trip you up. they think theyre being cute and funny. it is ALWAYS older men.

Jean hangs up on him and he calls back immediately and a) doesnt accuse or chide b) pretends it was his mistake to gently shift the tone and c) maintains focus on his goal.
