I think more people need to stop arguing over whether something in dragon ball is or isn't canon. the anime and manga are two separate canons linked by a similar plotline. if it's in the anime, it's canon to the anime universe. if it's in the manga, it's canon to the manga universe. i understand the tendency to find the "purest form" of the story but in doing so you can miss out on some excellent and entertaining additions by someone else applying their interpretation of the characters and their world to the show. not all anime original stuff is good, but most of the bad anime additions are like the slow drawn out fights and not stuff like otherworld tournament or the driver's license episode.

Saw this DBS clip and a lot of the comments were people saying that Piccolo has no right to judge Vegeta, that everyone is forgetting that Piccolo was also a villain once, too. I was going to respond in the comments, but then I realized I don't want to deal with the argumentative dude bro fans of Dragon Ball, so I'm just gonna vent my opinions here... Okay, rant incoming because I'm stuck at home sick and feeling some cabin fever. Honestly, I don't blame Piccolo for having his doubts. He was there almost every time Vegeta did something with possibly world-ending consequences. Vegeta being the one to threaten the planet in the Saiyan Saga. Vegeta letting Cell go to his perfect form. Vegeta going Majin. All for selfish reasons. Yeah, at the end of the Buu Saga he came around, but... it's hard to ignore the years and years of Veggie's A-hole behavior lol. Also, Piccolo DOES have the right to judge. He started off as a villain, but he never really followed through with the evil things he intended to do. He destroyed the island during the 23rd World Tournament AFTER everyone already evacuated. He saved that rando kid and his mom from a falling sign. He caused Goku a lot of damage in the tournament, but not nearly as much damage (physically and psychologically tbh) as Goku caused him, and the way he raised/trained Gohan was to the extent of how he grew up. I would also argue that he was showing signs of being softer long before he ever even fused with Kami or Nail just because he was caring for Gohan (and how could you not, Gohan is the purest cutest thing). Also, Chi-Chi is definitely projecting here, but that's a rant for another day.

As someone who is aroallo I find it interesting (in a negative way) that everytime a non-canonically aspec character says something that either implies or states they aren't interested in romance, a relationship, or so on people default to headcanoning them as aroace, never aroallo, or just aro, or some other aromantic identity that isn't asexual.

Like... they didn't mention sex at all? They didn't say they weren't interested in that? It's fine to headcanon them as asexual but so many of these people are saying that whatever they said means they're canonically aroace which.. no it doesn't... once again they only mentioned romance how does that make them asexual? Why are you literally equating aromantism to asexuality? Why are you saying those things can't be separate? Those things can be separate, do they know that? Do they remember aroallo people exist?

Not to be personal on main, but it really is a weird experience being single your whole life. It's like. You watch your friends and siblings go through boyfriends and girlfriends every year of high school and after and still its like sitting at a table waiting for a meal but the waiter keeps skipping over you

Another underrated scene I want to point out.

But in case no one remembers, this is when Tien is attempting to reseal King Piccolo in a container during the confrontation. The moment the containement is revealed, one of his offsprings/servants, Drum, almost immediately disappears from sight.

And soon after, right before KP starts to get sucked in, Drum shields him in the Nick of time and gets captured instead. Have KP not destroyed the container, Drum would have fully been sealed within.

Now I kind of doubt KP did this cause he cared about one of his children (given he one time blamed Cymbal and Tambourine for being worthless over being killed by a human being) and more so did it to not lose a soldier.

But I was incredibly impressed. Even just few minutes after having been born, Drum was willing to risk his life to protect his king. His father. Which is stangely wholesome for an evil being supporting a heartless tyrant.

It makes me wonder if Piccolo Jr. subconsciously recalled back to that memory the moment he rushed over to protect Gohan from Napa’s blast.
