Admiral Yi Sun-sin
a late submission for day 4 of @historical-hetalia-week. Special thanks to @alfredtalia for letting me use her North Korea OC for this piece!
Admiral Yi Sun-sin was one of the greatest admirals history has ever known. Best known for his victories against the Japanese during the Imjin War (1592–1598), he led the heavily outnumbered Korean navy against the Japanese invaders time after time only to achieve stunning victories despite monstrous odds.
He was also the one who resurrected and improved the famous Turtle Ships:
These ships made it impossible for the Japanese to make use of their preferred naval tactic at the time - boarding.
However, even more impressive than the ships themselves was the way they were employed by Yi, a man who had never formally studied naval tactics or been in a naval battle prior to the war. And yet despite his lack of experience, Yi won every single one of the 23 naval battles he fought against the Japanese.
During one of those battles, the Battle of Myeongnyang, Yi came out victorious despite having only 13 ships to the Japanese's over 300.
He died much like Nelson (a man he is often compared to though many would argue he clearly outshines) wounded mortally by an enemy bullet in the heat of the war's most decisive engagement, the Battle of Noryang.
Yi is largely credited with putting an end to the Japanese invasion. The war didn't develop well for Korea on land, but the Japanese constantly found themselves unable to maintain a supply line thanks to Yi's brilliant leadership and innovative tactics.

The official website and twitter account for the upcoming Hetalia: World★Stars anime series has confirmed more casting information over the last couple of weeks.
Announced returns in the fourth round of casting include:
Kokoro Tanaka as Latvia
Takahiro Mizushima as Finland
Keikou Sakai as Sweden
Keiichiro Asai as Australia
Announced returns in the fifth round of casting include:
Daisuke Namikawa as Romano
Katsuyuki Konishi as Canada
Go Inoue as Bulgaria
Atsushi Kousaka as Greece and Estonia
Yuki Kaida as the Narrator
It should be noted that all the voice actors from the fifth round of casting were already confirmed to return to the series in other roles.
As previously announced, the World☆Stars anime is slated to debut in Spring 2021, with the manga resuming serialization on the Shonen Jump+ website at some point earlier in the year. A new manga project by Himaruya, Prime Minister Club, also debuted in Jump SQ on January 4, 2021.
