What's The Best Sized Guitar For a Child? If your kid’s or grandkids have expressed an interest in playing the guitar and wondering where to start, there’s a few things you have to consider. What’s the best size guitar ? What age can they actually start ? When choosing a guitar for a young beginner there are a few things to consider. The size of the guitar as well as the child’s physical size are all worth considering. There are also a few traps you need to watch out for as their is a lot of information on the web and it can all get a bit confusing.I’m also going to show you the exact instruments I’ve used for my own kid’s and the 100s of students I’ve taught. Some of them being as young as 4yrs old! These particular guitars are amazing value and available and shipped to your door anywhere in the world. A Guitar Built For Young Beginners A guitar that is difficult to play will only put the student off, so a well made instrument that doesn’t cost a fortune is a great start. If your child has difficulty pushing the strings down they will never develop the fine motor skills and cognitive benefits of learning to play. So for that reason I believe a nylon string guitar also called a classical guitar is great way to begin. Not All Classical Guitars Are The Same! The Fastest Way To Tune Your Guitar | You Gotta Know This!

Tuning Your Guitar - What You Need To Know In this video, I'm going to show you the fastest way to tune your guitar. If you understand the two simple concepts I'm about to share with you, you'll be able to tune your guitar perfectly. There's nothing worse than trying to learn or play a guitar out of tune. Many beginners struggle with tuning the guitar. Without the help of an electronic tuner. It's possible to tune your guitar by ear, but that skill takes some time to develop. piano players don't have to tune up every time they sit down to play. So we want this to be simple and as fast as possible. So what is an electronic tuner all electronic guitar tuners are able to detect the sound or pitch of the strings via a very tiny built in microphone, the tuner is able to guide you and help you to decide which way to twist or turn the machine heads either up or down. Guitar tune has come in four different formats that can be built into the guitar. You can get clip on tuners, and they also come in phone apps. In this demonstration, I'm going to be using a free online guitar tuner which utilises the microphone that's built into the computer. However, they all work in the same way. LED lights and arrows and needles indicate which notes are which and guide you so you won't get lost. If you want to be able to tune your guitar quickly, there are two very important things you need to understand. The first is learning the names of the strings, and the second is learning the musical alphabet. Let's start with the string names. If you can remember this little phrase, you will soon be able to memorise the names of the strings. Eddie ate dynamite. Good bye, Eddie. The first letter in each word is the same name of the string. Let's start with the biggest string or the string closest to your chin as you're looking down at the guitar. This is the a six string the a fifth string, the fourth D string, the G third string, the B second string and a first string. The guitar has to eight strings on the top and the bottom. The musical alphabet. The musical alphabet travels from A to G stops and starts again at the letter I again doesn't go hihi J etc. However, there are these in between nodes highlighted in green. Notice how there are two letter names inside the circle. This is still an individual note, but it has two names to identify it. This one, for example is called a sharp or B flat. A little confusing to think that one note can have two names. But that's just one of the odd things about written music. The sharp symbol which looks like a hash sign means raise the note. And the flat symbol with a little b means lower than node. If you look at the diagram, you'll notice that there is no green node between B and C and no green node between a C and a F. That again is just one of the things you have to remember about the musical alphabet. B goes straight to C and E goes straight to F. There's just nothing in between those notes. So what happens when you get to the note G sharp or a flat? Well, you just start again at i and continue. This distance is just called an octave. A guitar string is only so long, so there are only so many octaves you can travel. You might be wondering, what does this have to do with tuning your guitar? Well, if you can follow the musical alphabet, you'll be able to follow the electronic guitar tuner and you'll know when to tighten or loosen the string. Let me demonstrate. To tune the guitar, you need to rotate the machine heads. When you move a peg anti clockwise it tightens the string and raises the pitch. To lower the pitch. You turn the machine head clockwise. This loosens the string this is what the sixth a string sounds like in tune. The needle can wobble and move around a bit. But the green light tells me it's in tune. The look what has happens when I moved the peg anti clockwise to tighten the string. The note goes up, look what it says f. Now if you look at the musical alphabet, what comes after E, you got it F. If I keep going, we'll go to F sharp and eventually J. If I keep going up, I could break the string. So we need to know where we are. Now let's go back to the note A and look what happens when I loosen the string and turn the peg clockwise. The note goes down to the note below a D sharp or a flat. Remember the double NINE for one night. And if I keep going down D are you getting to see this now, D comes before a in the musical alphabet. You should check your guitar tuning every day as you will find it will slip out but usually just a little bit. Just remember your string names so you know what your target note is. And look at the musical alphabet diagram. See you know what notes are below and above that target note. That way you can't get lost. .
