Duniya Na Maane 1959 Starring: Pradeep Kumar, Mala Sinha Rating: ⭐️ I sat though this disaster and nothing about it worked. It literally had nothing going for it, not story, direction, acting nor music. I'm surprised I even finished it, took me all of 4 days to get through it. The acting is below average, mala sinha who was a great actress has no scope and has no chemistry with Pradeep kumar the hero. The songs are all quite boring, none are memorable. Skip this

Nagin 1954 Starring: Vyjayanthimala, Pradeep Kumar, Jeevan Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I credit this movie as the movie that made vyjayanthimala a superstar. She became a star after bahar but she had little scope in that film. Nagin is a vyjayanthimala show. She looks stunning as the village belle and dances like a dream. Pradeep kumar plays his part good as well. Another plus to the movie is the music. Every single song is amazing, most of them sung by lata mangeshkar and pictured on vyjayanthimala. If you watch it and you don't like the film I can guarantee that you will love the songs. Direction is good. Cinematography is good. There are lots of snakes for snake lovers. Jeevan makes a nice villain. Watch it for the songs, watch it for the dances, watch it if you are a vyjayanthimala fan like I am.

Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam 1962 Starring: Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman, Guru Dutt, Rehman Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the finest classics of Indian cinema directed by Abrar Alvi. This movie I would rate as one of the greatest Indian movies of all time. The direction is brilliant by Alvi, the cinematography is outstanding. The soundtrack is a little average but a movie like this does not call for a great soundtrack. Out of the songs in the soundtrack, the ones sung by Geeta Dutt are especially heart wrenching. "Na jao saiyan", "chale also" and "piya aise jiyo" are beautiful sung and visualized. The movie brings together together two of the greatest female actresses of all time, kumari and rehman. The female leads outshine the male leads by miles. Dutt plays his character well and I would rang this as one of his finest performances while rehman is also good in his role but nothing spectacular. Waheeda rehman is wonderful as the naive girl and gives an award worthy performance. She should have won the filmfare for best supporting actress instead of Nirupa Roy for Chhaya. Unfortunately waheeda and meena do not have any scenes together and that plays to the advantage of waheeda because had they been in the same scene meena would have eaten her up. Now, let's get to what makes this movie one of the greatest films of all time, Meena kumari. This is without a doubt her finest performance on screen, in fact it's arguable the greatest performance by anyone in Hindi cinema. She is simply brilliant and you can't take your eyes off her when she is on the screen. Her eyes speak volumes when she has no words. You can see her pain jut from her eyes. She is the greatest actress Indian cinema ever produced and no other actress has come close to her performance in this film. This movie is worth watching just to see the master at her bey best.
