“You look tired,” she pouts lightly, her hands cupping his cheeks feeling the prickly feel of his stubble digging into her soft skin.
Eyes closed, Jason leans into her touch, “Hmm, I am.”
Hair untamed and unruly, in all his youthful glory. In the mornings, he is at his best, untouched by the horrors that plague his nocturnal occupation.
The warm, yellow hues of the sun embrace him whole and for a moment, lost innocence returns.
“I need to shave,” he mumbles.
“Need any help?”
Taking her by the hand, wordlessly he leads her to the bathroom.
She smiles.
Situating herself on the counter, she pulls his standing figure close between her legs, “You’ve got to stay really still, okay? I don’t wanna accidentally cut you.”
A teasing smile creeps up his lips, “Yes, ma’am.”
Pushing his shoulder lightly, she laughs, “I’m being serious, Jay, I don’t want to hurt you.”
How could you ever?
Raising his hands up in mock surrender, he shrugs, “Do your worst, doll.”
Resting his hands on her thighs, his eyes follow her ministrations. Doused in delicacy.
Battered and bruised, he has been burned ragged by the world. She handles him with the utmost care.
He finds himself touched by her sentiment.
This world is not for me, I am not meant for it. You have embraced me. I want to drown within the depths of your love. It is only kindness I have ever known. I do not wish to know any other.
