“An invisible guidance, that shows itself only in a doubtful form, accompanies us to our death, to that real result, and, to this extent, the purpose of life. At the hour of death, all the mysterious forces (although really rooted in ourselves) which determine man’s eternal fate, crowd together and come into action. The result of their conflict is the path now to be followed by him; thus his palingenesis is prepared together with all the weal and woe that are included therein and are ever afterwards irrevocably determined. To this is due the extremely serious, important, solemn, and fearful character of the hour of death. It is a crisis in the strongest sense of the word - a day of judgement.”
- Arthur Schopenhauer, “Transcendent Speculation on the Apparent Deliberateness in the Fate of the Individual” from Parerga and Paralipomena (1851); translated by E. F. J. Payne
You know what was the thing that actually transcended?
It was Lexa and Clarke's love.
Their love transcended time and space over and over again.
Their love is eternal.
Lexa and Clarke are soulmates.
In their lifetime they were and always will be "it" for each other,no matter the planet the time the dimension the people they meet, they will always and only love each other.
Clarke loved Lexa so much so fiercely that even after 141 years and after every planet she's been to,after every person she's met, she still loved Lexa like they were still on earth all those years ago.
And Lexa..well Lexa loved Clarke from the very first moment she saw her. From that moment on Clarke had her heart, completely and wholly. Lexa loved Clarke so much that even after 141 years,no matter the planet the people the time the dimension, she kept her promise to always be with her and she was, through it all,and thanks to her Clarke got her "maybe someday",even if a little different than what she probably imagined..and who's to say that they will never meet again? Their souls will always find each other.
So yeah, the real thing that transcended it all is Lexa and Clarke's love.
