No matter how hard I try I’m still not over Scarlet heart, it’s come to the point where I’m rewatching it bc I didn’t get sad enough by just thinking about it. I still cry myself to sleep bc I was thinking about this shit thing of a drama. I gave literally never been more in love. Summary: Go watch Scarlet heart, you won’t regret it, except during the nights you cry yourself to sleep but that’s out of the point

My thoughts on Scarlet Heart ending

I have watched Episode 20 of Scarlet Heart Ryeo 3 times now, and here are my thoughts:

1) LEE JOON GI IS AMAZING His brilliant portrayal of Wang So was just outstanding. This is THE first time I’ve been that moved by a character’s acting, and I have watched a lot of dramas and movies. The way he moved and sounded – he immersed himself in the role. It felt raw and real. Add his amazing acting skills to the fact that his face is pure perfection.

2) BAEK AH IS A CINNAMON ROLL TOO PURE FOR THE PALACE He loved his brother from start to end, and him leaving was the best thing he could’ve done HAHA. It’s good for So, too. To be a powerful king, So had to have no weaknesses. With Soo gone, Baek Ah in the palace was a weakness (remember when Wook used Woo Hee’s Baekjae blood against Baek Ah to get to So).

3) THERE WAS REALLY NO WAY SO AND SOO COULD’VE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER IN THE GORYEO ERA Soo’s purpose for going back to Goryeo was to make sure that Gwangjong became King, just like Ji Mong’s purpose was to make Taejo the King and unite the three kingdoms of Baekje, Silla, and Goguryeo. After their purpose was done, they had to not meddle with history. However, things have a way of going back to their proper place. Soo’s place was not in the palace, but in the modern world. Even if, say, she were to become Queen, she would not have provided So with the same strength as Yeon Hwa could have. Her family WAS poweful, (remember when they tried to have her marry the King) but then they were apparently traitors. She had no powerful family backing her. She would be no help to So when the time came, especially since he had such radical plans for Goryeo. I know, it’s painful. I wanted nothing more than to see So happy with Soo and their daughter, but Wook was right. No one could have it all. To be a powerful King, he had to give up something he holds dear. He gave up his heart, and in return, he changed Goryeo for the better.

4) YEON HWA DIS BITCH GOT EVERYTHING SHE WANTED She married So. She became Queen. Her child was Crown Prince. She would be Queen Mother. fckin shit she is goalz. She made sure her ambitions became real, though I still hate her.

5) WOOK NEVER EVEN TRULY LOVED SOO Remember when he was dying and he had that flashback? Yep. He remembered his dead wife, not Soo. I’ve been thinking since after his wife died that he just liked Soo to fill the empty space in his heart after Myung Hee died.

I hope you find somebody who calls you beautiful like it’s your name and calls you just to tell you they love you and buys you flowers when you’re sad and always texts you back and has eyes for only you and treats you how you deserve to be treated
