imagine: you are chilling in front you your house getting high. along comes an old family friend who you last saw when you were six, you are now in your 50s. after a brief convo where he is kind of a dick to you, he’s like damn you’ve changed :/. and your like yeah bestie it’s been five decades why the fuck are you here. he leaves. later that night a shit ton of people show up and trash your house. just throw and absolute rager. halfway through the family friend from earlier shows up. he announces in full earshot of everyone that he wants you to come with him to rob a bank. you of course say wtf??? one of the people who broke into your house calls you a pussy. another person shoves you a contract which declares if you get shot robbing the bank they will not pay for your funeral. you pass out. when you wake up you find the contract on your table and your house almost completely back to normal. you stare at the contract for a moment and decide, fuck it this is just as a good a midlife crisis than anything.

To me, songs are kind of like bookmarks. Have you ever listened to a song that you haven’t heard in a while, and all of a sudden, all the memories of that time period come back, and you remember what your life used to be like. They’re like milestones in your life.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

I know younger Stranger Things fans really struggle with the idea that the kids parents have no clue what they’re up to for hours and hours every day and find it unrealistic but honestly… it was like that. I grew up in a huge city and still managed to bike miles from home, climbed though an old abandoned house, and a load of other shit I shouldn’t have been up to. My parents worked long hours so we were left to our own devices. I had a key, which I lost lots of times.

And look, our parents were not crazy about this, but they came from a generation that had very little and they wanted us to have more and that meant working long fucking hours in jobs they hated. It’s just how it was.

Also, please stop calling us boomers for fuck sake. Our parents were boomers!

the real honest answer to "why didnt they just [insert solution that would end the story in five minutes]" is because that would end the story in five minutes and if we lived in a world where every story ended in five minutes what would be the point
