Every batkid has their patented “fuck, Bruce was right” face. Their expression twists for just a second, God forbid Bruce sees, but it does hurt their ego. In fact, it hurts their ego so deeply that they think about this moment all day. And maybe the day after, but they won't admit it under threat of death. I like to think that Damian is a conditional vegetarian. This is in large part due to the vigilante lifestyle.

If Damian's just chilling at home, he's going to be a vegetarian, but if he's in the middle of a mission, or recuperating from a wound and Leslie recommends him to eat meat, then he's gonna eat meat.

Does Damian want to do good in the world? Yes. Is he also extremely practical? Also yes.

I also think that's why the comics kind of shuffle around about him being a vegetarian in some series and eats meat in others.
