I don't even remember when I made this one.... uuum.... 2014? 2015? It was a while ago! Hahahaha.
I remember starting to draw/color on the wrong side of the paper and just went "Oh whatever the fog like effects look so nice" and there you go!
Isn't this guy so cool, though? Sure, he can be a creep but that's part of his overwhelming charm.

Everything you need to know about the game so far! 💜
When you finally quit your dead-end job and move back to your mother's house in the ever-peaceful town of Faybourne, you thought things could only get better.
Nothing could have prepared you for what awaited you behind that door. Nothing and no one could have warned you of the danger you would be in if you returned to your childhood home.
And yet, thrown into a different world and victim of a pact forged ages ago, you start thinking that maybe you were wrong. Maybe everything has to do with you.
There's no such thing as a coincidence, after all.
✦ THE STORY ✦
Lost in Limbo is a dark fantasy & romance visual novel taking place in the mysterious realm of Limbo. Take the role of River Winchester (full name and pronouns changeable), a human dealing with common-life problems, as you find yourself trapped in a foreign world of danger and deceit.
Try to survive and go back to your family with the help of the Seven Sovereigns, gods who rule over Limbo and have sworn to be your protectors...even if their intentions may be completely different.
Which of the Seven Sovereigns will be in charge of your life is up to fate, but whether you fall in love or in disgrace... is up to you.
✦ THE GAME ✦
✦ Lost in Limbo is rated +17 and will include mild horror, implicit and suggestive sexual scenes and discussions, sensitive topics such as toxic family relationships, anxiety, depression, depictions of alcohol / drug use, etc. Each route will have content warnings available for the player.
✦ The game and demo will be released on itchio and then steam. Other platforms (mobile/nintendo switch) are being considered and will depend on future kickstarter stretch goals.

✦ The game WILL NEVER depict gruesome scenes such as torture, sexual assault or any kind of overly cruel violence. The game has some fighting, a few deaths, and some unsettling descriptions, though!
✦ There will be different choice systems that will give shape to your playthrough:
Trust Points centered around your Love Interest; a low level of trust can translate into Bad Endings*.
Plot-driving choices that will shape the story and its possible endings.
Personality choices that will determine the nature of the MC's relationship with the LI, as well as how the MC reacts to certain events.
Flavor choices! These don't impact the game directly, but are there for the main objective of the game: having fun!
*In Lost in Limbo, there's not only one correct answer and one wrong answer. There's different ways of earning trust points without having to stick for the "one and only right answer", and mistakes can be redeemed...sometimes.
✦ Lost in Limbo treats consensual sex as a natural, integral and positive part of the game. Every Love Interest will approach it differently based on their experiences and their preferences; the player will have the choice whether to engage or not* without being penalized.
*Amon's route is strongly centered around the sexual tension between him and the MC, and how this attraction quickly develops into a physical relationship. Sexual scenes will be more frequent than in the rest of the routes and can be skipped, but happen nonetheless.
✦ This is a LGBT+ game.
✦ THE CAST ✦
The Seven Sovereigns: Because a family of gods can be a father and his six children...with all the problems that this entails.
✦ Lost in Limbo features seven Love interests and a wide cast of secondary characters yet to be revealed. Each Love Interest is in a different stage of their lives and has a past and personality that molds their relationship with the MC into different kinds of romance.
✦ The routes will be episodic, meaning that the game will update regularly with new chapters instead of the complete routes being released all at once.
As the older sibling, Amon had plenty of time to learn how to be a god living amongst mortals, and yet, that hasn't stopped him from indulging in mundane pleasures...greatly so.
A frantic-paced and intense romance in which a physical relationship blooms into love with a great deal of hardships to overcome.
Dedicated and brave, Praefectus Raeya takes her role as Limbo's protector extremely seriously, but the truth behind the realm's darkest times will soon put her loyalty to the test.
A woman bound by duty and a romance full of yearning and mutual pining. A route centered around trust, forgiveness and finding the strenght to fix what's broken.
Master of the Grand Houses, Gael is admired for his humble and altruistic persona, but a dangerous secret has kept him away from love his whole life.
A fake-marriage scenario turns into a forbidden romance for a man who has been denied affection since the day he was created.
Stripped of their name and shunned after commiting treason, the Sovereign now known as Lord Envy lives a life of solitude—if only he could get rid of his siblings.
An enemies-to-lovers romance, a betrayed heart that needs healing, and a god who constantly denies themselves from being happy.
Kind and caring, Ara is not only determined to make your time in Limbo a happy thing to remember, but also to make things go back to the way they were, no matter the cost.
A charming and playful romance and the tale of a girl who takes matters into her own hands—for better or worse.
As the youngest sibling, no one expects anything from Xal, not even himself. He is seen as a good-for-nothing and a poor excuse of a god, but you two are about to prove everyone wrong.
A first love romance about a young god who was born in the wrong side of the universe, and how someone can be the reason to try again where you once failed.
Creator of Limbo, Father Pride has to watch over the safety of his realm and the happiness of his family. However, the life of the God of Limbo can be solitary...and that solitude can lead to one's demise.
A convoluted love story about a god that can't let go, as much as he wants to. A lovers-to-enemies (to lovers again) route where the right decision is never the easiest to make.
Pride's route is the dramatic and sometimes hopeless tale of an all-mighty god brought to his knees. His good ending will be "harder" to obtain than the rest of the cast. It'll be the last route being written and produced because of its weight plot-wise.
✦ THE MC ✦
River Winchester (name and pronouns changeable) quit their job and had to move back to their childhood town to live with their mother and grandmother. Old family dynamics and the dread of an unknown future await them—as well as a cryptic nightmare they have been having since they were a kid.
A past buried under years of lies must come to light sooner or later, if you are able to put together the pieces of the puzzle and live to tell the tale.
✦ River is a strong, hard-working individual who isn't afraid to jump into action. In the game, you'll be able to play River as more bold or more timid, but the core of their personality will remain. River is funny, kind and a bit too stubborn—but you choose how to manage those traits.
✦ River also has some tastes and hobbies, as well as an undying love for food.
As the development progresses, we will tell you more about the personality-choice system!
✦The MC is written as an adult who is at least 21 years old. The player can headcanon their character as any age they desire, but every route is written so the MC is of an age similar to that of the love interest*.
*Except for Father Pride.

A prologue of ~40k words (around two hours of gameplay)

Shandian GO TGCF goodies
Here's the second post about the goods I received from Shandian GO. The pins came all wrapped for the journey. I love the folded look of the Hualian moments. The pins and tiles were wrapped in bubblewrap just in case, too.
This order includes the glass display case for Xie Lian's figurine, shown here (https://www.shandian.ca/TGCF-x-QGL-Crown-Prince-Figure-Display-Box-p462169302). I have not put it together yet. It's bigger than I thought it would be and it has no instructions. I was a complete merchandise NUBE when I ordered this.😂 It was my first order on Shandian GO and my first plunge into buying merchandise. I don't regret it. It's stunning, and I don't blame Mel for the lack of instructions. She even tried to help me find some help online. But alas, the examples she found are PLASTIC. I'm waiting till I have a little more health to attempt to follow along with GLASS!

Fire season is over for me for so I can finally share these last orders from Shandian GO. Most of the goodies were hidden in my fire prep boxes. I adore the soldier Hua Cheng and Thousand Autumns shikishi I got in the freebies with the gorgeous Anniversary fold out shikishi board.
Nothing was damaged and the freebies made me smile! I will continue to trust Mel @shandian-go for more goods in the future. 💕

So the other night I randomly came across this clip on YouTube, which based on the comments, features Shirota Yuu in the musical Elisabeth. Elisabeth is a German musical about Empress Elisabeth (nicknamed "Sisi") of Austria that became popular in Japan once Takarazuka started performing it in the '90s; eventually a non-Takarazuka version was staged, and apparently Yuu was part of the 2015 Japanese revival (and also appeared in it in 2010). He plays Der Tod, a personification of Death who is obsessively interested in Elisabeth, and who is (for some reason) deliberately modeled to look like David Bowie. (A lot of comments on this video were people mistaking it for a Labyrinth musical actually). The Japanese productions actually made Der Tod more of a primary character, because the first Takarazuka production was a farewell show for Snow Troupe Top Star Maki Ichiro, and tradition states that the top star male role must be the leading role of the play.
Anyway, back to Yuu-kun...I also found out he has a Spotify and recently released a CD called a singer with covers of songs from musicals, including a different song from Elisabeth (sung with Ramin Karimloo) in Japanese, an Il Divo song in Spanish AND "The Greatest Show" and "A Million Dreams" from The Greatest Showman in English. He also appears on a Japanese CD released earlier this year as part of Disney's Ultimate Princess Celebration, singing a duet version of "A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes" with Mitsuki Takahata. And it looks like he released an album last year too.
Glad to see he's still out there!

Wonderful writing advice 👍
how do you write so many words daily 😭 i find it a struggle to write 1k a week
I think that, in my case, it was a matter of identifying what was preventing me from being able to write first. I had to answer that question very honestly. Fighting my way past excuses to uncover the real reasons I was struggling was very important.
Once I could identify things like struggling to focus, or being frustrated at the project (and the way that can sap motivation to work on it), or being anxious about the quality due to perfectionism, etc, etc...
I could start to address them and learn strategies for dealing with them. Everyone struggles with writing for different reasons and everyone, therefore, is going to need different solutions to overcoming that.
This is still really important if the issues are things like 'literally do not have much time" because owning that reason and accepting that it's not going anywhere will be how you figure out ways to manage the time you do have available for writing.
The important thing is to not lie to yourself. To not cling to excuses you know deep down are just excuses. And to not beat yourself up for things outside your control. Like...someone isn't a bad writer because they have 1 hour a day to write at the end of a tiring work day and manage to write 'only' 200 words in that hour.
That's actually a reasonable amount to write in that scenario. But people will beat themselves up for those kinds of things and further destroy their own motivation and confidence.
In my case, it really was a matter of struggling with perfectionism and allowing my frustration at my writing 'not being good enough' destroy my motivation to write. As well as just feeling overwhelmed with long projects and that feeling of being 'lost' in the process just getting me down. And I have a lot of strategies to help me deal with that now.
I have a detailed system of tracking my word count because it helps me stay focused if I can see my progress in a more concrete way. If I'm struggling more than usual, I use the pomodoro method (there are tons of online timers as well as youtube resources geared towards pomodoro as well).
And I have learned to trust the writing process and allow my rough drafts (or potato drafts as I call them) to suck. That's what revising is for.
If I really hit some kind of productivity block, I always stop and ask myself *why* - what's the problem? Because then I can address it in a truthful and useful way. And come up with a solution to help me work through it.
So, in short, it's kind of a process and I have a lot of methods that work to keep on track. But it really starts with figuring out why you're having a hard time (and if you *are* having a hard time. 1k a week isn't a terrible amount if you aren't working on a deadline!). Once you figure out what the struggle, is, you can try out a lot of solutions to find what works to help you be more productive. <3
