Working on a new project! This is basically an art installation where I鈥檓 hanging plastic bags filled with water, and some of them have one or a few small objects in them.聽I was hoping that the as the sun hit them, there would be little rainbows, but while that didn鈥檛 happen, it is still very pleasant to look at. The work of filling the bags up and tying them is a slow and a bit tedious, but as I hang more and more of them, I鈥檓 getting a lot of joy seeing it grow. The first intention was to make 140, but then I realized that it would be insanity, so I set up the new goal of 84 to flank the entire walkway. Right now I have 20, which took me hours to make and hang. Will I make it to 84?

I have been taking drawing and painting classes for a while, and always enjoyed it. This year I decided to register for a class, not really knowing what I鈥檇 learn in it because of the generic name鈥攁nd it turns out it鈥檚 all 3D stuff. So far we鈥檝e carved, polished and painted plaster to form an abstract sculpture. I have to say I didn鈥檛 love it. Carving plaster is messy, hard to control, and physically tiring. But then we started working with clay, and slip and molds. And as a result, here鈥檚 my first ceramic platter! It was a lot of work (especially because the first one broke and I had to toss it and start again from scratch) but it was a surprisingly great amount of fun as well! I created the platter and skull containers from scratch and now I want to do more and more and more. I may be irreversibly addicted to clay now.
Maybe one day I鈥檒l be as great at it as Iskandar Jalil聽or Lee Kang-hyo. Something to look forward to!
