Sunspell: how do you think they would handle a major disagreement or fight with each other?

Okay so my first thought was uhhh this scene,, from She-Ra Princess of Power:

I mostly think that it would be something that they are able to work their way out of, at most they'd argue, get whatever is on their minds out and then they're able to sort it out when the both realise what the others perspective is like.

I think any of their conflict would mostly be centered around Marvin feeling like he has to fix everything by himself all the time and that causing him to get very tunnel vision about how that might make others feel, like he doesn't really realise that could potentially make it seem like he doesn't view Sunday as capable of helping him (he obviously does, but he doesn't realise it can come off that way)

From Sunday's perspective they just want Marvin to be safe and it is genuinely frustrating and hard to watch him continuously throw himself into danger. Plus he kinda puts a lot of effort into making sure he stays put together so sometimes they probably feel like Marvin doesn't take that seriously.

Marvin does take them seriously like, they think Sunday is such an incredible person, but it's exactly why they don't want to drag Sunday into their shit because he doesn't want to damage that at all.

They make me ill!!!!

Personally I can see Marvin being a gift giver; finding things to gift Sunday, or just straight up leaving anything and everything for Sunday to find around their house. Sunday, to me, seems like a words of affirmation guy. They definitely like leaving sweet notes for Marvin, and they can always tell when he needs to hear something positive!!

But, I can also see both of them enjoying physical touch! Those mfs hug constantly when they’re alone, I bet.

I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

I think Sunday is very much an Acts of Service person as well. They show love by being there and doing things for Marvin even if that's really small stuff like going out of their way to tell Marvin something in person.

Idk if there's a correct term for it but Marvin just absolutely loves to talk to Sunday as well, like he shares everything with Sunday, every little thing that's on his mind Sunday knows about because he just likes to talk to them. It makes him very easy to get gifts for because Sunday will already know what he's thinking before he's even said anything.

Also yes they're so physical affection but exclusively with each other. It's also built on years of them being comfortable with each other.

I feel like Sunday started being more physically affectionate first tho, they just seem like they would

These dummies would *so* be mutually pining and not confessing, but if they were to confess, how do you think it would go?

Would it be Sunday or Marvin who admits it first? Would it be something sweet, y’know like they confess and then go on a cute date, or would it be more of an ‘one of them is dying and thinks they won’t get another chance to say they love them’ kinda scenario? :)

THEY ARE SO MUTUAL PINING ITS INSANE.

Both of them are genuinely worried that it'll harm their friendship and they've known each other for so long that they can't imagine life without them so it's a very real worry for the both of them.

As much as I wanna feed into the fluff I am SUCH a sucker for "confessions during a life threatening situation" trope-

The way I see it playing out is that Marvin has gotten himself into trouble without calling for backup (something something, he feels like he has to carry the burden alone because he already is worried that he's done enough harm as is) And Sunday obviously knowing Marvin, knows something is up and goes out to find and help him.

To me I see it as Sunday finding Marvin, having won whatever confrontation he was in, but badly hurt, and they're helping him back to safety- and he just lets it slip as they're telling him to never do that again that he loves Marvin. Like in a:

"I love you too much to see you do this kind of shit without asking for any help, you could've gotten yourself killed"

Like he's definitely more focused on getting Marvin help right now, but Marvin definitely notices and even though they're probably bleeding out and it's the only thing they can think about (they only bring it up when they're not actively bleeding out).

WHAT KIND OF DATES DO YOU THINK THEY GO ON? Do you think they get to do the typical coffee shop/movie theater dates, or do you think because they're micro celebrities and also magicians they get creative? (<- very normal about them I promise)

OOOOOOOOO YES ABSOLUTELY

Marvin just screams to be the type to love small coffee shops and I think Sunday is the same, they both read to me as being really introverted so I think they would find ways to go on dates when no one else would be around (there is just something a bit more special about it when no one else is around !!) they'd go to late night viewings, picnic dates under moonlight.

I also view them as being friends for so long that they were already super close before they got together, so they do just kinda show up at each others homes to enjoy each others company. They could make a date out of doing laundry together because they just enjoy the company.

I do think they definitely could make creative dates out of the magic side of things (MAGIC SPARING HEHEHEHEH) them helping each other study spells and being able to help the other (maybe one of them was too focused on trying one type of magic they didn't realize they were more naturally gifted in another until the other pointed it out to them)

AND DON'T WORRY. I'M ALSO SO SO NORMAL ABOUT THEM EHEHEH

So the way I see it is it being similar to Raine and Eda, or Luz and Amity in The Owl House- like yes they could do the spell by themselves but its much stronger when they perform it together

I'M SPRINTING AS FAST AS I CAN 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Jackie - His main hobby is definitely exercising and parkour. He loves to have the routine and the freedom which comes alongside it. He'll leap from building to building on his morning run and climb things just to see where they lead, then find a nice, secluded spot where he can do his main exercises. It definitely helps quiet his mind and help him know his limits rather than placing everything on his own shoulders! This also translates to hiking! He'd have stopped after losing his leg, but I like to imagine he has been slowly going on the odd hike either with his prosthetic, or his wheelchair on accessible paths! Marvin is far less fond of this hobby because it means Jackie drags him out of bed at the crack of dawn with a rucksack and a 10 mile plan into the blazing sun and a barrage of insects. Jackie also loves games. Video games, card games, board games etc. I imagine he has an entire cabinet of different games and has all of the instructions of physical games memorised. Not to mention that he would adore whatever Dungeons and Dragons campaign Marvin is running, and would dedicate an entire shelf for all of his books. <3

Marvin - He's a collector. A fancier of trinkets, if you will. Much like Jackie has a cabinet of games, he has a cabinet of crystals and precious minerals that he hoards like a dragon. He collects fantasy pieces to decorate their apartment and paints hidden flowers across their wooden furniture for Jackie to find. Marv also enjoys scrapbooking. He'll collect mementoes from his activities to place delicately within decorated pages alongside photos. He also presses flowers he gathers on the hikes Jackie drags him on and either frames them or decorates his scrapbooks with them. While not a fan of the bugs, he does secretly like to ramble about different flowers and mushrooms, and occasionally makes food out of the edible ones! Besides collecting, Marvin figure skates! While performing magic is his main profession, he also competes in competitions and has won a number of awards!

Henrik - If you set this man loose in a bookstore, you would never see him again. Well, you would – an hour later, at the checkout where he has a pile of books up to his chin. He loves books, non-fiction or fiction; it doesn't matter, he is an utter bookworm through and through. He's also a whizz at puzzles. Ask him for the answer to a crossword or sudoku and he'll answer quickly, or frown and scowl until he eventually figures out the answer. He gets very grumpy if Chase skips to the answer page and puts him out of his misery! Henrik has always opted for quieter activities than Jackie, but this is especially the case after he was kidnapped by Anti. Mobility is often strenuous for him, and added with his autistic sensory sensitivity, he is most happy huddled up next to Chase with a book. That being said, he can't resist the occasional drinking game (he is determined to beat Jameson and is a sore loser over the fact that a Brit beat a German).

Chase - He is the designated DIY dude. I think I've mentioned it before, but he can work anything out with a free afternoon and a can of soda. When he's not at work himself, he likes to make additions to the apartment to make it more accessible for Henrik. For example, he added railings in the bathroom, made extra storage for his books, and added hooks for appliances to be safely stored away to ensure he doesn't trip up. <3 He loves movies, music, and video games and loves to ramble about the production of them! Jackie is his gaming buddy, but he also buys games he can play with his kids. It brings him so much joy to be squashed on a sofa with his friends or children and just laugh, puzzle-solve, and share triumph together! He goes out of his way to learn about his children's favourite things, too, and while he often comes off as a dad trying to be cool, he earnestly loves when they share interests with him. As for music, I love to imagine that he loves rock and roll and plays guitar himself!

Jameson - Aside from his wonderful puppetry (which he creates himself, of course), he's an incredible tailor and actually designs all of Marvin's figure skating outfits, as well as Jackie's suit! He sort of embodies Edna as the pair's exclusive designer. Knitting, crochet, beading, sewing, cross-stitch, quilting. He is a stickler for detail and is in his element when handed scraps of fabric and a sewing kit. He is constantly seeking something to do with his hands, and he finds sewing the most cathartic, as well as making his family clothing. Of course, his hobbies include his love of vintage and antique. Most of his furniture is restored, polished, and re-upholstered from second hand stores. He designs his own clothes and takes great pride in his appearance as it helps him feel in control of himself. Another way he expresses himself is through his garden. He aims for it to be a safe haven for wildlife and his family alike. Bee ponds, hedgehog shelters, bird houses, and feeders are scattered all across his garden amongst vibrant flowers and grass. He grows fruit and vegetables in abundance and leaves bags of fresh food on his front fence for passers-by to take, and donates the rest to the food bank.

Shawn - While Jamie has an eye for crafting, Shawn has an eye for all things art. Due to his condition, moving from place to place is incredibly difficult, but with the others' help in making his home more accessible and giving him a reason to step outside, his inspiration flourished. He fills sketchbooks and canvases with paintings, sketches, and illustrations of whatever he may see in front of him. One of his favourite things to do is sit with Jamie in his garden and paint the flowers, but the subject usually becomes his boyfriend anyway. <3

So you might be saying: Lion why a guide on drawing black people? Well young blood it’s because a lot of people cant…seem…to draw…black people..Amazing I know. 

Racist (caricatures) portrayals of black people have been around forever, and to this day people can’t seem to draw black people like they are human. If your artwork resembles any of the above even remotely your artwork is racist and offensive. If you try to excuse that as a stylistic choice you’re not only a terrible artist, but racist too!!! Congrats.

Whitewashing is also a problem. A lot of people refuse to draw black features on canonly black characters. While this example isn’t colored, lightening the skin-tone of a character is also considered whitewashing. So lets start with features!

Now all black people have different noses thats a no-brainer, but black noses tend to have flatter bridges, and wider nostrils. Please stay from triangular anime noses and small button noses. Your drawings should not depict black people with abnormally large noses. (Especially if you do not draw other characters this way)

If you feel like the way you draw lips on black characters is offensive or resembles a caricature,it probably does and you should change it. ABSOLUTELY AVOID PLACING LIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE. 

Hair is so diverse! Please get used to drawing braids, locs,kinks and coils! If you can learn to draw ringlets and long waves you can learn how to draw black hairstyles.

Add clips! Learn how to draw baby-hairs and never be afraid to add color Pinterest and Google are free my dudes! Also try using square brushes for blocking in coils.
