Kai Janik Art
I'm an art therapist from Germany. Many of my illustrations are mixed media because I might start them between therapy sessions, apply a few washes of watercolour on the weekend, and sketch and finish them digitally while commuting to the hospital. If I have enough energy and time (or if the subject matter becomes too pressing) I retreat to my studio to make video installations and mixed media portraits, do artistic research etc., with focus on emotions and identity.

I need some help with an artwork about Nienna!
I'm in the research stage and I don't want to reveal too much yet, except that it's not going to be a painting. So the help I need is this: Please, if you have ever had any thoughts about Nienna, like what she means to you, emotions you had related to her, experiences, sounds, textures, things... that made you think of her, can you please let me know?
The more detailed and personal the better (but please take care of yourself and only share what you want to share). You can comment here or send me a message or an anonymous ask which I won't share but it's an option to message me anonymously if you prefer that.
If you feel uncomfortable at any point about having shared something, just let me know and I will remove that information from the research. In any case, any of the things that have been shared will be anonymous in the artwork and cannot be traced back to you.

All my Tolkien related illustrations from 2023 - I see a lot of Annatar and of the house of Finarfin there. And I just realised I haven't even shared all of them yet.
It has been a hard year for me, among my three worst years I would say, and I'm so glad I made it through. I was so surprised when I kept adding another and another illustration to this overview - I hadn't expected to take something so many nice things with me from 2023.
Wishing everyone who has started the year 2024 a happy new year!
I'll also take this opportunity to raise my glass to "the professor" on his birthday today. I'm so glad about the inspiration that keeps coming and coming from his books and the people I'm meeting and friendships I have gained through his work - those are certainly among the best things I have in my life ✨
