In His Arms

It's been a week since the last time Kaito saw the detective and much to his surprise, he didn't mind at all. He doesn't have the usual urge he gets back when they started dating to bother Shinichi with every chances he gets. We all could say he matured (a little) and knows not to stick himself too much around his Metantei, specially now that his been busy with cases here and there.
Now that he thinks about it, it's always him who goes to Shinichi and now that he, too, has been busy with his magic shows, he completely forgot to go and pay the detective a visit. They've been dating for three years now but they still haven't move in together. It was a mutual agreement so he really doesn't have anything to complain. And the fact that he still does sneaks into his house sometimes doesn't really feel like living away from him.
Kaito smirk as he finally decided to go visit his lover when suddenly, he hears a message notification from his phone.
Moving his gaze away from the deck of cards his been shuffling, he looks at his phone on the table and saw a familiar name on the screen.
"Speak of an adorable devil~"
Kaito grabs his phone to read the message but was immediately alerted after doing so.
'Can you come over please?'

Kaito is currently standing in front of the Kudo Manor trying to call Shinichi's phone but to no avail, he wouldn't answer. He did tried texting back and knowing that he still reads them shows that his fine in a way that's not life threatening. Still, Kaito is still worried.
"Did something happened?"
Not wasting another second, he went inside and straight to Shinichi's room to find a trail of the detective's clothes leading from the staircase to the hallway of his room.
Anyone will think that something is going on in that room right now, but Kaito knows his Metantei too well. He's more worried for the real reason why he may or may not be naked inside his room and asking him to come over.
Being extra careful, he finally knock on the door and softly called out his lover's name.
"Shinichi? I'm here now so can I come in? Or do you need more time before you want me inside?" Kaito said being careful with his words. This is really out of character for him knowing how he usually behaves but he really change after falling for Shinichi. Or we can say that he's only like this towards the detective.
After a few seconds went by, Kaito hears the door slowly creaked opened to reveal his lover standing before him.
Kaito's eyes soften when he sees the familiar appearance of his lover before him. Wrap in his white blanket, Shinichi is standing with a tousled hair, eyes slightly red from crying and those eyes that's calling for him.
Before another set of tears leave those azure eyes from the overwhelming feeling of seeing his lover for the first time in awhile, Kaito quickly move and carried him in his arms.
"Shh, I'm here now. I'm here so let's make you all better alright?" Kaito softly whispered while he sat down on Shinichi's bed with the detective still in his arms holding onto his shirt.
With his head nuzzling comfortably on his chest as he feels the familiar warmth of his magician lover, Shinichi finally settled down.
Kaito should've seen it coming when he hasn't seen his lover for a whole week. This is not the first time it happened after all. His lover having a mental breakdown and being at his most vulnerable moment. Kaito being the one and only exception to seeing him like this.
When he first saw this vulnerable side of his Metantei, he panicked to the point of wanting to call someone for help but as he finally know what Shinichi really wants, he stopped panicking whenever it happened.
Kaito rubbed his Lover's back and placed a soft kiss on his forehead, smiling softly when he sees the sleepy eyes of the detective slowly closing.
It's new for everyone who got used to Shinichi's personality who doesn't seem to fear anything but it's not always like that. As someone who doesn't seem to have any weakness in the eyes of the people around him is how vulnerable he could be behind close doors. Not wanting anyone to see him like this, someone who can actually get mentally tired and drain from dealing with everything and worrying about everyone before himself.
But after Kaito came into his life, he found his Home. A place where he could drop his mask and heal himself in his warmth arms that never fails to melt the cold misery he's trap in.
Before he finally goes to a peaceful slumber, he looked at Kaito and smiles softly.
"Thank you for always coming to the rescue."
Kaito returned the smile and leaned forward to give Shinichi a quick peck on the lips before replying back.
"Anything to make you feel better. And I know I'll get a reward tomorrow like last time so-"
"Yeah, yeah, we'll go to that sweet shop you've been "dying" to go." Shinichi said after a chuckled then nuzzle his head once more on Kaito's chest, letting sleep completely consume him.
"Seriously though, thanks for always being here..."
It came as a small mumble but Kaito clearly heard it which didn't fail to melt his heart seeing his Metantei's sleeping figure in his arms.
Adjusting his position, he finally laid Shinichi down on the bed and unwrapping the blanket to reveal him in only Kaito's button up shirt that's a little to big for his figure.
Kaito,grinned from ear to ear, joined his lover and laid down pulling him in his arms once more, letting sleep take him as well.
"You're amazing in every way but being vulnerable from time to time just proves that you're also a fragile gem and it's alright."

Love Return (Afterstory of Precious Gift)

Kaito have thought that he will be able to obtained the jewel before the year ends the moment he inherited the 'family business' and finally avenged his father who was the first magician under the moonlight, Kaitou Kid. But, who would've thought that two years has went by and he's still on the search for the jewel named 'Pandora'? Moreover, his supposed to be relationship with Aoko ended long ago when the guilt he tried so hard to hide in his heart slowly swallowed him whole.
The moment Aoko confessed her feelings for him, Kaito was overyjoyed, happy that finally, the girl he has been secretly loving has love him back however... the feeling of guilt prevented him from accepting her feelings and the possible danger he might put her in, which is why he lied. A lied that made her shed tears and run away, leaving him in tears as well without the girl he had love knowing. But you know what he didn't regret? Kaito didn't regret opening his heart once more, to someone who unexpectedly made their way into his broken heart and healing it.
"Edogawa Conan, Tantei sa. (a detective.)"
A love that secretly planted itself in his heart the moment he met a hinder in his heist, a hinder that soon brought thrill, joy, and a helping hand the longer he encounters the tiny detective... who wasn't just any mere child after discovering the surprising truth.
Kaito was both amused and curious upon discovering the supposed to be 7 years old kid was actually a 17 years old high school detective. Kudo Shinichi, a high school detective of the East attending Teitan High. Without knowing, he started to became attached to the detective, sharing bittersweet memories, life threatening ones, and soon, he finally understood the unknown feeling he has towards the tiny detective.
Standing atop a skyscraper with the stolen jewel in hand, Kid looked down and sees the detective in his skateboard, hurrying to go back home with the gift in hand. Kid smiled upon seeing this as he looked up at the bright full moon. To think he, a phantom thief, will do such a dangerous thing and risked his life in order to obtained a drug that will helped a detective. Has the world gone mad? No, only his love towards his Metantei has caused him to do such a thing. Shinichi was the reason after all, the reason why he still has the willpower to continue his mission in search for a jewel that doesn't seem to exist and...
"The reason why this magician learned to love once again, without the fear of losing someone."

A few weeks flew by and finally, Kaito's birthday came. Usually, he would enjoy the attention he's getting from everyone where he receives all sort of birthday presents and greetings however this year, he doesn't feel like celebrating it. The feeling of emptiness seems to continue existing in his chest, which he doesn't know when and why it existed. Maybe when his precious Metantei stopped appearing when he holds a heist? He doesn't know but what he knows is that, he wishes to see his detective once more, because during tonight's heist-
"It'll be the last."
"I see you finally found the jewel that you seek."
Hearing this, Kaito turned around to see Akako sitting down on one of the table with her arm crossed and leg resting atop the other with a smile on her face. It's a good thing that class is over and it's only the two of them still present in the room. No matter how many times he tries to convince her, she stills undoubtedly thinks he's Kaitou Kid, which she's right but still won't dare reveal himself. Kaito will only reveal himself to one person, and that person is currently nowhere to be seen causing the magician to frowned and turned away.
Ignoring her words, he grabbed his bag and another one filled with presents he got from the class and was about to leave when Akako spoke once more, causing him to stopped on his tracks when he hears a familiar word.
"Then I presume you wouldn't want to know what The Demon of Light is up to?"
"Metantei?"
"... I'm just a normal University student, Akako. Whatever the Great Detective of the East does isn't my business."
Lies. Kaito has been itching to know how Shinichi has been for the passed few weeks of not seeing him. Did he finally made an antidote? Did he succeeded in returning back to his body? Will he... will he see him again? A lot of questions has been running in his mind that he sometimes has a hard time falling asleep at night. Who wouldn't when the person that you love dearly keeps on invading your mind? While distracted, Akako placed a hand on his shoulder which the magician only noticed when she spoke one last time before leaving him be with his thoughts and the surprising words she left.
"The Demon of Light that you hold dearly will appear tonight. This information is the only present I will be giving you, Kuroba-kun."

The moment Akako said those words, the hole in his chest disappeared in an instant by the thought of seeing his Metantei once again. He should be focusing on the heist that will start in about a minute but his mind keeps on wandering to the detective. How will the heist go now that the Great Detective is back to his body? Will it be the same as before or will the appearance of the famous detective who hadn't shown himself in the face of the media prevent him from getting the jewel? Either way, the thrill and adrenaline he's currently feeling still remains.
With a wide grinned on his face, the countdown begins.
"San. Ni. Ichi!!!"
Once the clock hits 9 o'clock, the Museum was suddenly covered with smoke with the Task Force already expecting it where they came prepared as they wore a smoke mask, not knowing the filter has been removed giving the smoke an entryway knocking every Task Force unconscious. As much as Kid wants to enjoy his final heist, it's finally the jewel he's been looking for so there's no time to have fun. As well as the reason that both the Organization has already heard of the jewel being possibly Pandora and his dear Metantei presence in the building.
After making sure everyone is asleep, he turned around to go and grabbed the jewel but was stopped by hearing a gunshot being fired to his direction. Knowing that Nakamori-keibu and his Task Force wouldn't dare fire a gun at him, he knew who the person responsible for this as he raised both hands up above his head. Thankfully, the bullet missed him but still left a hole on his white cape.
"To think you'll make things easier by knocking the annoying police for us. Now, step away from the jewel, Kaitou Kid."
Kid didn't move an inch after hearing Snake's instruction. Does he really think he'll surrender the jewel that quickly by firing a gun at him? He's willing to leave this place half dead if he has to so no threat will make him-
"Or do you prefer to see your favorite detective drop dead to the ground?"
Kid's mind went blank the moment he heard a muffled whimper from behind him, causing the phantom thief to quickly turned around and quickly let out a groaned when a bullet grazes his shoulder. Right in front of his eyes is a kid that's around Conan's age, head covered with burlap sack preventing him from getting a better look of the kid. So his Metantei failed to make an antidote? Is the reason why he stopped appearing whenever he holds a heist was because he was held hostage by the Organization?
This thought infuriated the Phantom Thief causing the men in black to laughed seeing how they finally have something that is a weakness against the magician. No mask can ever covered the anger Kid is feeling and before he could make any rash decisions, he heard his voice.
"What do you think are you doing acting all defenseless like that? Kid."
The wrath Kid was feeling disappeared into thin air and was replaced with the familiar feeling of excitement he always seem to feel whenever he's together with him. Turning around while holding his injured shoulder, his eyes met the ocean blue eyes he always adores and returning the sly smile on the detective face with a grinned. He successfully got his body back huh?
Snake and the rest was taken aback with the sudden appearance of the detective of the East but wasn't that fazed as they all pointed their guns at the two, having the feeling that they are the ones in control of the situation without knowing the Museum being surrounded by the police. The moment he heard a go signal in the earpiece Shinichi is wearing, he pulled Kid behind him upon hearing a loud bang behind the men in black, succeeding with distracting them as he kicked the smoke mask on the floor aiming it towards Snake's face. After Snake let out a loud groaned and letting go of the gun, the police quickly stormed in and surrounded the rest of Snake's men with the kid safely recovered and in Takagi's hands.
Shinichi let out a sighed of relief as he turned his gazed to Kid who's still stunned with everything that is happening before his eyes with mouth slightly parted. The detective only smiled at him while suggesting that they should talk elsewhere. Before Kid could protest and tried reaching for the jewel, his Metantei quickly pulled him away from the crowd and lead him up to the rooftop of the building.
Kid couldn't do anything and followed the detective as they climb up the flight of stairs. While staring at Shinichi's back, Kid couldn't control his emotions as he pulled the detective in his arms from behind, not giving him the chance to swung the open door to the rooftop as they stopped on their track. He could just steal the jewel again some other time but right now, he doesn't have any plan on letting go his Metantei who might disappear if he takes his eyes off him for a second.
When has it come to this? To think that he couldn't bear to no longer see Shinichi after constantly waiting for only a few weeks. Just the thought of waiting for him once more makes his heart ache. When did he became this vulnerable when it comes to the detective? Has he always love him this much? He doesn't know and he doesn't care anymore as long as he's with the detective that he holds dearly.
Shinichi wasn't any different from the magician embracing him from behind. The loud thumping on his chest when he thought he was already too late upon hearing a gunshot, the fast beating of his heart when finally seeing Kid for the first time in awhile, and... the feeling of passion and affection the phantom thief is currently showing him. He didn't made the wrong decision after all. Loving this idiot yet gentle magician was all worth it, and...
He's finally giving him his gift.
Shinichi placed a hand on Kid's arm asking him to be let go for a second which the the phantom thief reluctantly did, stepping a few steps away from him, he started talking.
"Remember what you said during that night? That, you might consider offering yourself instead as a present? Well, what will the famous Phantom Thief do if I steal that idea of yours, offering this Great Detective to you as a gift for this special occasion?"
With a wide grinned on Shinichi's face yet still not being able to hide the flustered expression he has, he slowly took out something from his pocket and placed it on the magician's hand. Kid couldn't helped but let his mask dissolved as it finally shows the expression and emotion that tells how overjoyed and delighted he is with hearing the detective's words. Uncovering his hand, a simple small red box revealed itself on his palm, snickering with how the detective is copying the way he handed him his gift except for the kneeling part.
"Happy Birthday, Kid."
"I don't think that whatever is inside this box can be compared to how much I want you to be mine."
"Oh believe me, you will be elated to see what's inside the box."
With a look of doubt on his face, he still opened the box and was greatly surprised to see the exact same jewel he saw earlier placed neatly inside, with a note attached to the lid part causing Kid's heart to flutter and tear up from this surprised present.
Pandora.
(I, too, no longer what to see my dear magician suffering. )
As the tears finally stream down his face, the door swung open as the strong night breeze comes in and the bright moonlight shining behind his Metantei who's smiling brightly at him. Kid couldn't helped but smiled back despite the tears in his eyes as he finally removed the monocle and the top hat off, indicating that Kaitou Kid's time has finally ended.
"You kept your words huh? Metantei."
"Didn't I told you? I will capture you before this year ends. Now, accept your fate Kuroba Kaito-kun."
He even already knows who he was? He is truly the great detective and will always be his Metantei. Kaito wiped his tears off and finally embraced Shinichi once more as he drops his monocle and top hat to the ground, saying one last thing that made Shinichi broke into a smile before returning back the kiss of passion the magician has given him.
"Well then, please take care of me from now on, Shinichi."
"I'm your problem now and you're mine."

Precious Gift

It's already been 2 years since Shinichi has turned into Edogawa Conan, with the operation of bringing the Black Organization down having no sign of being complete. During those 2 years, he ended things with Ran. Shinichi knew that if he continued to make her wait for him, it will only hurt her even more because he, himself, doesn't know if he will get the chance to return back to his original body. It was heartbreaking since he needed to let go the love of his life and moved on but he knew that Ran had a harder time than him.
It was painful at first, seeing the girl that you had loved since childhood with another man but after some time, he began to accept it and has finally completely moved on. Shinichi is happy for her now that she has finally opened her heart once again to the guy she's currently going out with and because their relationship as childhood friends still remain without any awkwardness between them.
Though with the topic of love, he doesn't know if he will ever find his own. With him in the body of a child, it will be a challenge to find romance with the same age as his before he turned into Conan. But, what Shinichi didn't know is that there is someone out there who knew about his identity and has been secretly loving him since.

It's currently May 4th, his birthday, when another heist has been announced on the news regarding a very familiar phantom thief appearing tonight, ready to steal yet another grand jewel. Conan's main focus upon turning into a child was to find something that will lead him to the Black Organization, being that as Gin and Vodka but there hasn't been any update with their movement. That's why Conan is stuck and has been thinking of a way to track down the big boss of the said Organization. However despite that as his main goal, he always find himself distracted whenever Kaitou Kid announced a heist. Everything just seems to disappear. The problem he has regarding his body, the Organization, just, everything seems to evaporate into thin air as his focus has been directed towards the magician.
Conan found it interesting with how much a Phantom Thief like him can make him this thrilled to captured him. Despite thieves being not his area of expertise, this thief, however, was an exception. He only realized it not so long ago but whenever the magician makes an appearance, whether it is inside a heist or when he's in a difficult situation and there to help, he soon discovered the feeling of falling in love again. The difference, this time, is that compared to the love he felt for Ran, these feelings he harbors for Kid was much more stronger and deeper. Maybe it was because compare to his past relationship with Ran, Conan has more interaction with the Phantom Thief and that he knew his identity as the High School Detective, Kudo Shinichi.
While the task force and Nakamori-keibu are currently busy with their new plan to capture Kid (which Conan knows will failed like the previous attempts), Conan is already making his way up to the rooftop. He knew that it has been a meeting place for him and Kid during every end of a heist which is why he will be taking a look around, trying to find whether Kid prepared an advanced escape plan or not.
Conan swung the door open and was surprised to see the Phantom Thief already standing before him. Why is he here already? There is still a few minutes or so before the heist start. Is he planning something else?
This thoughts made Conan wonder if the time of his arrival was wrong and he made a mistake decoding the advance note he has received. But before he could dive deep into this questions, Kid suddenly spoke which snap the detective off his thoughts.
"A pleasant evening to you, Metantei. My apology for suddenly appearing before you but I need to give you something before this heist starts. The one speaking right now isn't Kaitou Kid but the person behind him, behind his mask. I did this with my own personal intention so I hope that this will not tarnish Kid's reputation."
As he said those words, Kid crouch down in front of Conan and pulled out a small blue box from his pocket. This, of course, took Conan aback with the sudden gestures but before he could assumed what we all thought it was, Kid chuckled upon seeing the detective's flustered expression.
"This is not what you think it is. This is simply a gift, a gratitude for helping out a Phantom Thief like me in need of help. Happy Birthday, Kudo Shinichi-kun."
Kid grabbed Conan's hand and placed the small box onto his palm. This somehow made Conan feel a spark inside of him. Due to turning into a child by a drug, he hasn't been able to celebrate such occasion with his close friends and the usual hangout they always did was now replaced by a simple greeting through the phone. He doesn't fancy celebrating it and making a big deal out of it but it gets lonely sometimes. Knowing that only a couple of people knew his identity and not getting a chance to celebrate it since it might blew his cover up. But right now, with only him and the Phantom Thief before him, there is nothing he needed to hide from him.
Trying not to smile, Conan put the box into his pocket and looked at Kid in the eyes.
"You know that capturing you is a much better present than whatever is inside this box right?"
"Oh, I guarantee you that it is much more better and a suited present for you, Metantei. However, maybe next year I can offer myself to you as a birthday present~?"
"B-Baro(idiot), before this year ends you will already be captured by me-"
Before he could continue what he was saying, Kid suddenly placed a soft kiss onto his forehead which caught him by surprised. With a wide grinned on the Phantom Thief's face and a flustered pissed expression on the Detective's, Kid stood up and said one last thing.
"I do hope that you will capture me soon, My Dear Metantei."
Right then and there, a puff of smoke erupted around the Phantom Thief, disappearing as the lights in the building went off indicating that the heist has now officially started. Conan only sighed and smile as he gets ready to go down and capture Kid but something made him stop and grab the box inside his pocket.
"A much better and suited present than capturing him..."
Conan doesn't want to admit it but if Kid did decided to offer himself as a gift even if it was a joke, he will give him an honest answer that will surely make the Phantom Thief realized the feelings the detective harbors for him.
Just when he was about to open the box, he notices a white dot and dash on the lower edges, each with different pattern. Slowly, he realizes that it was a Morse Code. For some reason, this made Conan nervous as to what the message says but still decided to decipher it.

At first Conan thought he read it wrong and decided to decipher it again and again, even searching on the web the actual Morse Code pattern in order to confirm what he had read and... they were right. With shaking hands, he slowly opened the box and there, he was shocked to see what's inside.
A red and white capsule which is too familiar for Conan to forget was shown with a small note attached to the lid part of the box.

With slightly teary eyes, trembling lips and the fast beating of his heart, Conan closed his eyes and softly whispered,
"Ahh, It should be a crime for making a detective like me, fall deeply in love with you, Kid."
Kid knew. They were in the same boat after all but the only difference is that he's hiding his alter ego while Conan is hiding himself from the others. He knew how much Conan has been wanting to go back to his original body and how much he has been suffering to hide himself from everyone he loves in order to keep them safe. He knows that and did something risky that might even endanger his life, just to retrieved the drug that will help Conan make an antidote.
Listening to the words Conan said through the listening device he had put on the detective while running away from the task force with the jewel in hand, he smiled and whispered his answer to his beloved Metantei's question.
"You better catch me then, Metantei."
"Happy Birthday and I will be waiting for your return, my one and only Kudo Shinichi."

Different World

"You're really pretty! Ne, What's your name??" The boy asked curiously.
"You can't talk huh? Hmmm... OH! How about I teach you how? I'll still be staying here for about 3 days after all!!" He excitedly said while holding the hands of a azure eyed boy in front of him, who seems to be also excited to learn new things from him.
Ever since that day, a messy haired boy will always sneak out at night with a book in hand and visit the cow licked haired boy behind the large rocks by the seashore. It was never easy to teach him how to speak but despite it being difficult, he wanted to hear his new friend's voice before he leaves.
Unfortunately, this newly found bond between them has to end after 3 days passed by. The boy wanted to stay for a little more but his parents were already packing up, leaving him no choice but to follow. One last time, he went to the same spot to say his final goodbye.
"W-will I see you.. again?" The azure eyed boy asked, speaking for the first time in a broken sentence which made the other boy smile and tear up in joy.
Pulling the boy into a hug, he answered back cheerfully.
"Of course!! I'll come back for you once I'm old enough. Then I'll show you around the world, Shin-chan!"

Kaito smiled after remembering such a nostalgic memory while looking at the sun setting by the horizon right before him. 18 years went by and he didn't get a chance to visit his old friend. When his father passed away, he was too preoccupied with his time as a student and a Phantom Thief but now? With the jewel in hand he finally returned back to the same place where he always meets the boy.
"I wonder if you're still here.."
Kaito left him here with various of books ranging from Dictionary, documentaries and also some detective books he got as a present. He was worried that it might turned out to be useless in the end since he only managed to teach him for 3 days. Not to mentioned, only for about 3 hours since his parents might found out about his disappearance.
"W-will I see you.. again?"
When he heard his voice for the first time, he felt something tingling on his chest which he didn't know why due to how young he was but now that he's older, Kaito knows that he have fallen for the boy who possessed the sea in his eyes. With a few failed attempts, he got him to write his name on the sand which he found out was-
"Shinichi..."
Sitting down on the sand with the jewel still in hand, he wanted to destroy it the day he found it however he couldn't. He tried everything from throwing it on the ground, burning it and even biting didn't do anything. What to do with this jewel... Before he could think of another way to destroy it, he caught something moving out of the corner of his eyes.
Glancing to his right, he was shocked yet overjoyed to see a very familiar figure hiding behind a rock, peeking and observing his every move.
Blue scales on the corner of his eyes that highlights his azure slit iris eyes, pointed ears, pearl like skin and a long beautiful blue tail with such a long thin fins on its side like a cloth that highlights his whole being. Yes, the boy he met that summer night was no other than a merman he happened to stumble upon while playing by the seashore.
At a very young age, he already developed a fear towards fish however when he saw him for the first time that night, all he could think about was how beautiful and breathtaking Shinichi was.
Smiling widely, he stood up then slowly approaching him, being cautious as to not scare him off. Finally, after a few more steps Kaito is now face to face with the boy he met 18 years ago.
"Do you still remember me? I'm Kaito!" Kaito said excitedly while still looking at the merman in front of him, who seems to be still observing him.
It took about a few minutes before the said man speaks up which excites the magician even more.
"Kai..to? Oh, that noisy brat who keeps bothering me when I was young." Shinichi said bluntly which caused Kaito to nearly fell into the water. Who knew the precious sweet boy he met 15 years ago had turned out to be this stoic? He couldn't even read his expression but... for a moment there, when he glanced to his direction earlier, he could've sworn he saw a longing gaze behind those beautiful ocean blue eyes of his.
Getting lost in his thoughts, He didn't noticed that the jewel he was holding was suddenly in the hands of the merman, fascinated with the jewel.
"Oi Oi be careful with that, it's important to me."
"Interesting, it has another red stone inside. Did you made this?" Shinichi asked curiously, looking at a stunned Kaito in front of him. How.. did he know there was another jewel inside? One can only distinguished it's existence upon directly shining it to the bright light of a full moon so how..
"Does it have something to do with being a merman??"
Should he asked Akako about this? No no, Shinichi's existence should remain a secret however..
Sighing in defeat, Kaito only patted the merman's head smiling at him which Shinichi didn't mind and nuzzled his head closer to the warmth contact of the human's hand. He didn't want to admit it nor say anything about it but.. he missed Kaito. Every single day for the passed 15 years, he would always wait for him by the rocks in the evening, hoping that one day he will see the boy that caught his attention. The only thing that kept him entertained was the things Kaito left, which he really enjoyed especially the one with the detective in it called 'Sherlock Holmes'.
Those books really helped him a lot from speaking the human language to understanding the outside world, which he would love to explore and be a part of... with Kaito.
"Do you have the other series of this book?" Shinichi asked excitedly, grabbing the tattered book that has been re-read for so many times which made Kaito smiled widely. So it did helped him in the end huh? Then he should've bought the whole set instead if the merman was gonna love the book this much.
Time went by and after a few agreement with Shinichi, Kaito will be returning back with a surprise and the promised book the merman wanted to read.

"... Uhh, what is that?"
Early in the morning, while reading by the seashore waiting for Kaito to arrived, Shinichi was startled when he sees the magician from a distance pushing some sort of object with wheels under it covered with a black cloth over the top. At first, he thought it was the books he has been asking which both surprised and excite him to the possible large number of new books he will be reading. However, Kaito handed him a separate bag with a few books in it, making him even more curious with the large object presented in front of him.
Kaito only grinned as a reply and removed half the cloth covering what seems to be a huge tank filled with water inside.
"Tada~! This is my surprised. Are you excited~?"
Shinichi tilted his head to the side wondering why Kaito is excited with an empty tank but then, it clicked. The merman's eyes widen and tried his best not to break into a smile but still couldn't as he covered his mouth. Is this for real? Will he really be going out there in the human world with Kaito?
But what if he didn't like what he sees? What if he made the wrong choice and what his friends said about the humans were right? Despite the number of doubts he has in his mind, there is only one thing that he's certain which immediately eliminates the questions he has.
"I trust Kaito."
"We're gonna leave right away so no passerby will see you. Though, it'll be a bumpy ride."
Kaito starts rolling up his sleeves however just before he could asked Shinichi for permission to carry him in his arms, a realization hit him hard like a curve ball. Does Shinichi even want to come along? Wasn't he being too full of himself for not even asking the merman and just assuming that he wanted to be with him?
A frowned made it's way to the magician's face causing Shinichi to frowned as well. Did he do something to upset the human before him? Just before he could open his mouth to asked, he suddenly heard a sound of barking coming from a pier a few distance away from them. Both of them panic as they saw a dog pulling it's owner to their direction that they didn't know what to do.
Acting quickly, Shinichi tags on Kaito's pants and whisper shout,
"What are you waiting for? Carry me in the tank before they see us!"
Kaito didn't have any choice and quickly does what he was asked to and gently carried the merman in his arms with the half covered tank covering them up from the perspective of the passerby. After placing Shinichi inside, he quickly covered half of the exposed tank as the owner of the dog only stared at him in confusion before continuing on their way after the dog sniffed around the covered tank and left.
Kaito let out a sighed of relief and looked at the top of the tank, seeing Shinichi peeking his head out of the little cutout he made off the sheet while holding onto the edge part of the glass container he's in.
Shinichi copied Kaito once he sees the disappearing silhouette of the human from a distance then narrowed his eyes at the magician in front of him, causing Kaito to jolt up a little.
"Geez, if only you carried me right away earlier, we wouldn't panic like this."
"Eh? Uhh, yeah.. sorry about that."
Kaito looked relieved when he heard those words coming out of Shinichi's mouth which pleases the merman as well. There was no need to be hesitate about huh?
After Kaito started explaining everything to Shinichi with how he will be brought back to the magician's place, they finally left the ocean with Shinichi on the back of a van Kaito rented with the seats already folded, giving space for the tank where the merman is in.

"... You sure you're human?"
"Hmm? Of course I am! Why did you think I wasn't?" Kaito asked, confused with the merman's question.
Shinichi only narrowed his eyes then looks around the house (or mansion due to how large it is) he's currently in. A huge cylinder tank is what he sees in the middle of the wide Living Room where it passes all the way to the ceiling where it ends up in the second floor in Kaito's bedroom. A large indoor pool at the other side of the house and a small high tank at the kitchen where he can be in whenever they eat at the kitchen. Shinichi looked back at the magician after pointing them all out while still in the large tank they use to transport him from the ocean to land.
Despite him being a merman himself, he couldn't possibly think of any logical way to install all of this in one day- no, overnight where it was only decided last night. Kaito only snickered then smile after patting Shinichi's head. Even if he's a magician, he doesn't have that ability to install all of it overnight.
"It's been here since the moment I bought this house. I asked a close friend of mine to design the house and had the tanks install so that if I ever had to brought you home with me, everything's ready."
When he graduated College and made a name for himself as the great magician of Japan, with the money that he made he invested half of it in this house where he will be living with Shinichi. Even if there was a chance that he will no longer see the merman when he comes back to find him in that beach, he was still determined and didn't lose hope. Well, it wasn't all in vain after all since right now, he's looking directly at Shinichi whom he fell in love with the moment he saw him for the first time.
Shinichi blushes and looked away, embarrassed that Kaito was that sure they will meet one day and went ahead and install all of these.. for him. Slowly, Shinichi smiled at Kaito and wrapped his arms around the indigo eyes neck, whispering something under his breath before kissing the magician who was stunned but nevertheless, kissed the merman back.
"This will be our home then? Kaito."
" Yeah, our one and only Home, Shinichi."

"For a merman like you, you sure drink coffee way more than you breathe water."
"You introduced me to the devil's juice so not my fault."
"That's alcohol not coffee, Shinichi."
Kaito only snickered as he watched his merman lover leaning forward from the tank he's in and using the waterproof laptop resting on the table in front of them.
Years went by and they're still living together peacefully. Well, rather than peaceful they actually found a way for Shinichi to still explore the outside world without being found out about his identity. After Kaito found out that Shinichi was really passionate about solving crimes and helping the humans like the detective book he has been obsessing with (until now), an acquaintance of his was involved in some sort of murder where he was being accused of.
Kaito was well aware and has the intelligence to solve this on his own but he wanted Shinichi to give it a try by giving him a detailed information of the crime, the suspect's information and many more and the result? It was better than he expected, far more better than any detective he has ever known. That's why Kaito decided to registered Shinichi as a ghost detective. Someone who can solve a case without the presence of the detective and was only given enough information for Shinichi to worked with.
An uncontrollable smile made its way to Kaito's face the longer he watched Shinichi. Who knew years went by and he's still with him? It still felt like it was only yesterday when he brought his lover over from the ocean by using a tank, where they were almost caught by a dog. Is this what it feels like to spend the rest of your life with the man that you love? Where time seems to go fast the longer you stay with your Lover? Well, actually-
He looked down to Pandora dangling around his neck, made into a pendant where he wears it everyday. For some magical reason, 50 years went by and he still looks the same as when he was 25 years old where he saw Shinichi again. When he found out that merman actually have a long lifespan of hundreds of years, he already accepted the fact that he will be separated from Shinichi from natural death. When Shinichi also found out the human lifespan is only approximately a hundred years old, he was devastated but then, he told Kaito that the jewel he possessed has the power to make him live longer.
Kaito didn't questioned how Shinichi found out but still kept it in mind and eventually made it into a pendant he could wear at all times. Of course, with his close friends and acquaintance growing old while he stays young, he needed to make a plan for both him and Shinichi. The excused that 'Kaito' already retired and living at some faraway land where he's just a lookalike cousin of 'Kaito' and the detective name 'Kudo Shinichi' has been inherited from one person to another has been working so for now, there's nothing they have any problem with. Only making the most of it and loving one another every single day of their life.

Blind Love (Part II)

It's already been 30 minutes since they arrived at a nearby Cafe but no one dares to break the silent that has build up between them. Shinichi wanted to be the first to speak, ask how he has been, whether he finally obtained the jewel he was looking for or still on the search, and if the bond they had is still there... He has a lot of things he wanted to ask but he couldn't. He doesn't know why but he wanted Kid to do the honor of leading the conversation, he was the one who invited him to talk after all.
Shinichi 'looked' down at his mug of coffee and took a sip, waiting for Kid to break the silent which he finally did.
"I see you finally return back to your body, Metantei. How... have you been? You disappeared for two years and I have no idea where you have gone to."
Kid spend the entire two years looking for Shinichi, trying to find if he has successfully returned back to his body or if he's still in the process of making an antidote. When he finally decided to visit Shinichi without any sort of disguised and only himself as Kuroba Kaito, he was excited and also nervous to show himself before the Metantei he adores... but upon sneaking in, a painful hole opened up in his chest once he found out Shinichi disappeared. He thought he was still in the care of his childhood friend but upon arriving, he was still nowhere in sight. It was like he disappeared into thin air...
He knew that it has something to do with the drug he got for the detective, where he's somewhere safe with creating an antidote to return him back to normal however, the pain of the possibility of not seeing Shinichi anymore still haunts him. When he was on the verge of giving up, Kid heard a couple of rumors from the detective's fan that they saw Shinichi at the airport in a 'weird get-up'. Of course he didn't waste any time and wanted to head to his place but for some reason, he couldn't and was forced to stand by for awhile.
Upon hearing that his friends will be coming over, Kid took this opportunity and headed as well but not too close that will make his Metantei notice him. The moment he sees Shinichi for the first time in 2 years, in a 'weird get-up' the rumors said, his heart sank. Is this... the caused of the antidote? The caused of the drug he risked his life getting and giving it to his Metantei, the consequence is losing his eyesight?
Despite not seeing anything, Shinichi felt the sudden change of mood surrounding the Phantom Thief in front of him. Knowing why it changed, he put a smile on his face while placing the coffee down and slowly, he removed his glasses catching the attention of the magician. What Kid saw made his heart flutter as his eyes were meet by a beautiful ocean blue eyes.
It was strange, despite going blind, the beautiful color of Shinichi's iris still remain. Maybe because it was caused by a side effect of a drug? He didn't know however knowing that the eyes he always adored still remain the same as before made him smiled.
"I'll arrest you right here on the spot if you even dare thought of blaming yourself. I was the one who took the risk and took it so it was bound to happened. Though I really didn't expect to lose my eyesight."
Taking another sip from his coffee, Kid only shook his head and snickered. His Metantei is really something else. He knew that it wasn't his fault but just the thought of the detective not being able to see him, as his real self with no mask on still made him down. However, he can still do something for him that will make them both happy.
"Well, it's a bummer that you wouldn't get to see what the Phantom Thief you've been trying to catch really look like however, I could 'show' you this instead."
Gently and carefully, Kaito grab ahold of both Shinichi's hand and places them on his face. Grinning from ear to ear as Shinichi slowly started to feel the magician's face. The soft and flawless cheeks down to his perfectly shaped chin, his pointed nose and soft lips and carefully, his eyelids where he feels the long eye lashes of the thief. Even though he couldn't quite visualize what he looked like, he still felt happy to be able to touch his face with no disguises on. Just him in his persona which strangely made something flutter in his chest.
Satisfied, Shinichi retrieved his hands but was surprised when Kid grabbed ahold of his hand and said something that he wished he found out first with thorough investigation but nevertheless, accepted it knowing it'll be a challenge for him to find it on his own.
"Kuroba Kaito is the name. I hope that I can still get to see you even if you're no longer the Kid Killer, Shinichi."
"Likewise, I wouldn't want your crimes to increase after all so keeping you around will greatly benefit the both of us."

It's already been three months since they started living together per Kaito's request with helping him around the manor. Spending two years away from home, he really needed the help re-memorizing the rooms which he's slowly getting a hang of. Also, he didn't want to take more of Haibara and Professor Agasa's time by taking care of him, they were already a big help for being there for two years during their time in Los Angeles.
Right now, Shinichi and Kaito are currently at the Library with a braille book in hand, as he might've assumed, the magician is currently shuffling a deck of card right beside him. While listening to the cards shuffling and Kaito casually whistling, it slowly died down gaining his attention. Kaito glanced to his side and when he finally sees that he had gain the detective's attention, he started speaking while he continues shuffling the cards.
"You sure you don't regret what you did the other day? Who knew the day will come where you will let her go."
"Baro (idiot), if you were on my position, you would have done the same to the girl you hold dearly."
Yesterday, Shinichi had a private conversation with Ran at the Living Room with Kaito accidently hearing their conversation upon passing by the area. Shinichi broke up with Ran with the reason of not wanting her to be stuck with a disabled person like him. He didn't want to be a hinder when she's now pursuing of becoming a great lawyer like her mother. She needed someone by her side helping her out and he's not the right person for that. It took awhile before Ran finally accepted it, knowing that she cannot changed Shinichi's mind anymore and left.
Kaito left Shinichi with his thoughts for awhile since he needed it, without knowing that Shinichi knew of his presence. There was actually another reason why he needed to break things with Ran, the burning passion he holds dearly for the passed years of being with her slowly died down. It took him awhile to realized it but, there was a certain someone who had replaced the flame of love burning in his chest. Someone unexpected and, he didn't dislike it.
Honestly speaking? The first time he suddenly realized something was wrong, Shinichi has started to feel strange around Kaito. No, it's not that he doesn't trust him, moreover he was surprised that the magician has easily earned his trust with no efforts needed. Is this another mystery to be solve towards the magician he now treats as a close friend? And a month flew by and finally, he got the answer and has solved the mystery in his heart.
Shinichi fell in love with Kaito.
"Hmm, not really. Since I don't have someone I like at the moment. Well, not a 'she' if I gotta be honest with you."
Upon hearing Kaito's words and the sudden stopped of the shuffling sound, Shinichi froze to his spot and turn his head to the direction of where he heard his voice. What.. did he mean by that? Does that mean he indeed has someone he holds dearly but not a she? Then-
Shinichi flinched when he felt a hand on his that is resting on the floor in between him and Kaito. The contact made him flustered causing him to move his head away from the magician's direction, feeling his heart beating fast with the possible theory he has in his head being true. Shinichi didn't want to, he shouldn't but unfortunately, he wanted it to be true.
The detective couldn't see it but the serious expression on Kaito's face and the eyes filled with love and passion that is staring at the ocean blue eyes of his is an inevitable evidence that he, too, has long fallen in love with the blind detective in front of him. At first, Kaito thought he was only growing closer with the detective he respects and trust but the longer he spend his time living under the same roof as him? The feeling of friendship he mistaken was a love in disguise that has finally uncovered itself the more he thought of Shinichi.
Just as Kaito was about to open his mouth and finally convey the feelings he harbors for the detective, they were both startled by the door of the Library opening.
"Are you two here? I brought some curry. We made too much-"
The scene in front of the tiny scientist was both confusing and weirded out after seeing a magician laying down on the floor on his side holding a braille book in hand and a detective sitting crossed legged beside him with an upside down normal book pretending to read it by dragging his fingers to the smooth and not dotted book in hand. What nonsense has she witnessed now between these two idiots?
Not wanting to get involved in whatever situation the two has, she slowly closed the door and placed the curry at the kitchen, leaving without a word.
After hearing the door closed, Shinichi let out a sighed of relief then started feeling around beside him for his braille book until he finally grab ahold of Kaito's head, getting flustered for the second time while retrieving his hand but he was stopped by the magician grabbing it. His now calmed heart suddenly began beating fast again when he felt a soft pair of lips pressed against the back of his hand.
Finally, he gave up and covered his face with his free hand, knowing and feeling the teasing gazed Kaito is giving him as he sighed. They're already aware of each other's feelings for one another so why do they have to endure and be in such an awkward situation?
Slowly, he uncovered his face and gently cup Kaito's face, slowly pressing his forehead against his despite knowing the still flustered expression on his face. Kaito was surprised by his affectionate gesture but didn't dare moved. With a smile on his face, he reached out his hand and places it behind the detective's head, staring back at his beautiful eyes that possessed the color of the ocean.
"Omae.. (You..) Can you at least let my heart calm down for a second?"
With a wide grinned on Kaito's face, Shinichi only chuckled to his words and finally, they conveyed the beautiful gem they called love with a passionate kiss.
"No. You already let this Phantom Thief into your life so you gotta have to deal with me for the rest of it~"

Blind Love

It was a given that there will be a side effect to the antidote he will be taking but it never once occur to him that he will lose a huge chunk of what helps him with being a detective. His sight.
Haibara already warned Shinichi that a possible side effect might damaged one of his senses but he didn't listen and nevertheless still took the risk, which he slightly started regretting when he one day woke up in complete darkness. Shinichi was scared, terrified that he might have to give up being a detective, never to solve a case again. But he still didn't give up.
For the last 2 years of being in Los Angeles where Shinichi, along with Haibara and Professor Agasa are staying at his Parent's place, it was time for him to go back home, back to Japan.
"Are you sure you're ready to go back?"
Currently, all three of them are already in a plane to Japan where Haibara is seated beside him and Professor Agasa seating behind them. If Shinichi has to be honest with himself, he was rather worried about what will Ran and the others think if they found out that he has became blind. He disappeared for 2 years and now he will be returning back with sun glasses on and a cane in hand? They will surely asked what happened to him and no mere excuses like being in an accident will be enough. It was time to tell them the truth and Shinichi is willing to give them this truth.
Turning his head to the direction of Haibara's voice, Shinichi smiled while he closes the Sherlock Holmes braille book he was reading.
"Yes. You know the reason why I refused to come along with my parents to live overseas was because I didn't want to leave Japan. That's the place where I belong and whether the people judge me there or not, I don't care."
Upon hearing this, Haibara only sighed then smile. Despite Shinichi losing his eyesight, he was still the same stubborn detective and precious friend she met. When the detective woke up after taking the antidote, the first thing he said made her heart break which till this day, she still cries every night for not making a better antidote that will decrease the risk of a side effect.
"I can't see."
It took a lot of asking but they managed to convinced Shinichi to flew to Los Angeles where his parents are, with a few scientist acquainted with his father who's willing to help in creating a drug that will nullify the side effect of the antidote he took. Unfortunately, they found out that if they decided to make Shinichi take the drug, there is a huge chance that it will also cancel the effect of the antidote which will result into APTX 4869 turning him back into a child again and this time, he might permanently remain as a child with his mind turning into one as well.
That's why with no hope for recovering Shinichi's eyesight, he decided to embraced it instead and immediately started his journey with adapting to this dark world he will be living in. However, there is just one thing he regretted not seeing before he lost the ability to see.
"Ahh, even if I catch him now, I'll still fail to 'see' what he really look like."

"Why didn't you told me sooner?... N-now, you wouldn't even-"
"Ran, I actually found a way to continue being a detective even without the help of my eyesight so don't worry alright? I'll be fine."
Shinichi assured her while he tries to cup her face, which Ran quickly took and placed it on her cheeks.
It's already been two days since he returned back to Japan and after mastering up the courage to asked Ran and the others to come visit him, he finally did. At first, they all thought Shinichi was messing around but knowing the detective, he wouldn't dare joke around when it comes to this kind of disability which is why all of them were heartbroken by the fact that Shinichi wouldn't have the ability to see anymore.
Heiji, who has been surprisingly quiet throughout the time that they have been there, finally spoke which caught the attention of everyone in the living room.
"Yer still plannin' to continue bein' a detective? I don't know if yer kiddin' or bein' a complete idiot but I don't think that's a good idea, Kudo."
"Heiji! Watch what yer sayin-"
"I won't stand by and watch him riskin' his life out there again! Did y'all really think somethin' like this won't happen again? No! That's why even if I have to be selfish, I won't allow a precious friend of mine go and put his life on the line again!"
Everyone in the room became quiet because Heiji was right. The possibility of something like this happening to their friend again is high but they all seem to forget something which Shinichi decided to remind them.
"I don't think you remember what being a detective is all about. Yes, there's a chance that this will not be the only thing that will happen to me. I might even loss an arm or leg."
"Shinichi!-"
"But a detective's job is to bring the truth out into the light, whether if they have to risk their life in order to do that or loss their eyesight."
Shinichi didn't became a detective to fool around and just solve a case here and there. He takes this very seriously and he wouldn't hesitate to bet his life on the line in order to find the truth. It's something very precious in his life after all. Being a detective.
Heiji quickly stood up causing everyone panic since they didn't know if a fight will broke between the two close friends, but what happened next was something they didn't expect at all.
Heiji pulled Shinichi into a tight hugged which surprised the azure eyed detective but nevertheless still returned the hug.
"Ahh, and here I thought I'll get ya to finally take an effin rest to bein' a detective and leave it to me instead. But I guess yer still as stubborn as ever. Yosh, just don't hesitate and ask me whenever ya need some help. Just... j-just... Aho! (idiot!) Don't forget what I look like alright?!!"
Everyone started laughing when Heiji suddenly began to cry like a child while still clinging on Shinichi, who's trying his best to push his crying friend off of him but to no avail, he just let him be until he calms down.
While this is all happening, a certain magician is currently listening to the conversation in the house through an earpiece, having mixed emotions with the discovery of his dear Metantei losing his eyesight.
"I finally got to see you once again after years went by however..."
"You wouldn't be able to see me anymore."

"S-satou-san calm down! It's not like it's the end of the world for me."
"But no matter how much I try to think about it, how can you possibly still continue on if you can't even see? Should I asked Megure-keibu to assign you another detective to guide you around a crime scene? I can recommend Takagi-kun."
Today, Shinichi went out for the first time since arriving to Japan and what better way to greet him with his very first case as a blind detective? After hearing the noises of the siren, he followed the direction of the sound and by doing so, Satou-san happened to see him which greatly surprised the female detective since she never heard any News of Shinichi losing his eyesight.
After explaining everything to Satou-san and how he can helped out and solved the case, Megure-keibu was forced to agree and accept his cooperation despite being also shocked with the detective's disability.
After a brief explanation of the state of the body from it's location to it's caused of death, Shinichi was guided to the center of the room which everyone started to wait and see what the detective has in store for them. Shinichi wore some type of earpiece and crouch down to place a cylinder device the size of a soda can on the ground. After doing so, a red laser scanned the whole room as well as the people inside of the crime scene.
[Professor Agasa Gadget Explanation]
"This is a newly invented gadget that will be assisting Shinichi throughout a case! 'Information Gatherer' is a type of gadget that scans the area and gives a detailed information of the surrounding from the furniture in the area, number of people presence, layout of the crime scene and many more! This also has a voice command which gathers information that the wearer is asking for like the substance on the floor, metal objects in the perimeter and so on and so forth. After gathering the information, it will be transmitted to the earpiece that is connected to the gadget!"
After Shinichi is satisfied with the information that he has gathered, he whispered something and walked straight ahead to the counter and grabbed an empty glass with ease which surprised everyone.
"Oh, I forgot to tell something! This does not only gather information but also serves as Shinichi's 'eyes' where he can asked the location of certain areas and will be directed to him. The earpiece sends a signal to the gadget which will know his exact location in the area!"
With the helped of the gadget, it only took about 2 hours for the culprit to be caught which impressed Megure-keibu and the rest. After showing that he's still capable of doing his job as a detective, he was given permission to continue on being a detective which greatly relief him. After leaving the Police Headquarter, he bid goodbye to the police officers and went on his way back home.
While walking on the braille sidewalk with a cane in hand, he could feel the stares and the whispers of the people around him.
"Oi oi isn't that the great detective, Kudo Shinichi?"
"Uso! (No way!) So the rumors were true about him going blind?"
"Poor thing. He was such a great detective and now he wouldn't be able to continue being one."
Shinichi was already expecting this kind of reaction from everyone but he still couldn't helped but be uncomfortable with the attention that he's getting. Letting out a sighed, he continued on his way but then he stopped walking when his cane hit something on the way.
"Is this a person?"
"Uhm, excuse me but could you please step aside? Or is this a post after all??"
He reached out his hand to feel the possible object or person in front of him but was taken aback when a hand suddenly grabbed ahold of his, startling him which made him nearly drop his cane. So it was a person after all. But why didn't they just stepped aside if they knew he was walking there?
About to asked the reason for these, the person spoke which made his eyes widen with the familiar voice of a male in front of him.
"Can I have a word with you? Metantei."

Our Little Angel

For the passed 4 years of being together with Kaito, Shinichi never knew that this is what true happiness feels like. Their story that started off as fated rivals which ended with them going out with one another, he couldn't asked for more since both of them were already satisfied with having each other... not until he saw how Kaito's attention being stolen by something else. It never once crossed Shinichi's mind but now that he has finally became aware of it, it has became a difficult situation that for the first time in a while, he didn't know what to do.
It was dumb to think that Kaito wouldn't want his own kids in the future. He thought he was all that Kaito needed but... now that it finally cross his mind, he wanted to have one as well... Kaito's child but,
"How can a man like me bear his offspring?.."
Shinichi felt stupid, even to the extent of researching about it on the internet if it's possible for a guy to became pregnant when he, himself, knows that it's impossible.. He just feels so hopeless right now that he wanted to do something that will make Kaito happy. Letting out a sighed, Shinichi closed his laptop then lied down on their bed. His Lover is currently out doing a magic show so he has all the bed for himself tonight...
Placing a hand onto his abdomen, he chuckled painfully while muttering under his breath.
"Who knew I'll wish I was a girl instead of being a guy..."

"Shinichi have you been feeling alright?? I heard from Takagi-keiji that you nearly let the culprit get away yesterday." Kaito asked. From his voice alone anyone can tell how worried the magician is for his lover. He knew that for the passed few days, Shinichi has been hiding something from him. He didn't know what and why but Kaito is sure that it's something that's been weighting down on his Metantei. He wanted Shinichi to open up on his own free will but he couldn't bear to see the misery hidden beneath those ocean blue eyes that he loves anymore.
Shinichi couldn't looked at his lover in the eyes. He knew that once he sees those pair of blue sky he adores, he will surely tell him everything. He didn't want to admit it but ever since that day, he's been distracted to the point of making such a mistake. He wanted to directly asked Kaito so that he can finally feel at ease however..
"I'm... scared."
What if Kaito didn't want to be with him anymore? Because he couldn't give him a child they can cherish and loved.. what if all this time, Kaito has been hiding what he truly feels towards him? Shinichi didn't want to hear those words coming out from his Lovers mouth so... he did the most ridiculous thing that even himself couldn't believed he'll ever do in his life.
Facing Kaito with such a blank expression that took Kaito aback, he blurted out the words he never knew he would ever say while staring directly at his lover's eyes.
"Kaito, Let's break up."

It has been a week ever since that day and honestly? Shinichi hasn't been alright. From constantly messing up in the middle of solving a case to nearly getting hit by a car while crossing the road. If it weren't for Hattori who was always there to accompany him, he would've been on a hospital bed by now. Shinichi knows that he brought this upon himself and he shouldn't even have the right to feel miserable when he was the one who broke Kaito's heart but... who knew it will be this hard to go back to his old life where his beloved magician isn't there anymore?
Letting out a sighed, he fixed his gaze to the open window in the library where he is currently at. It's already night time and around this time Kaito would be knocking on his door, saying that dinner is ready but he knows the voice his been longing to hear will never call him out. When they broke up that day, Kaito never spoked a word and just nodded. He didn't asked for an explanation nor even protest and just.. left. Deep down, he wanted Kaito to be angry and refused the break up but...
"I'm an idiot."
"You really are an idiot."
Quickly turning his head to where the voice came from, Shinichi saw Shiho with a coffee in hand looking at him as if he's the biggest fool there is and.. she was right.
Shinichi just gave her a small smile before returning his gaze back up to the sky filled with billions of stars... but what he really loves to look at every night is the bright full moon. Despite their time as Edogawa Conan and Kaitou Kid ended years ago, the moon is something that really means a lot to him and not only because it shines brighter at night but because it's a reminder on how he and Kaito had meet each other.
He soon felt Shiho sitting beside him, handing him the coffee she brewed which the detective gladly accepted. Out of everyone aware of their relationship, Shiho was the one who had witnessed it from the start. From the time the Phantom Thief had confessed his love for the detective to the current situation right now, where they are facing one of the obstacle that has come in between their lives. She couldn't really blamed Shinichi with his decision. It must've been very difficult for him since he was lost and didn't know what to do but what Shiho didn't like is that he made such a mistake that is breaking him and his lover apart right now.
Looking at the detective beside her, she opened her mouth to say something but suddenly, Shinichi started talking.
"I know I could have chosen a different way with dealing this guilt I'm feeling but Miyano I just- can't. I can't stopped thinking that Kaito would have been better off with someone else who could make him happier than being with me. He could have a normal life where he can look forward to seeing his children. I can't give him that bundle of joy.."
Every word that's coming out of his mouth was something he knew will make Kaito furious if his lover hears them. He knows but.. what if this is really for the best? In the first place, he should be going out with Ran and not with Kaito...
"Who am I kidding? Even if I turned down his confession and returned back to Ran, even if I deny it I knew for a fact that I have fallen in love with him. I can say and lie easily when it comes to different things but these feelings I harbor for him? It's something I will never lie about."
Shinichi never said that he didn't love Kaito anymore that night which made the detective realized something. If the reason why Kaito didn't asked for the reason is...
Before he could say anything to Shiho, they heard the soft knocked on the library door which made Shinichi and the scientist looked at each other, knowing exactly who is currently behind those doors right now. Shiho gave him a reassuring smile which Shinichi responded with a simple nod and smiled back. A week has already passed by, it's time for him to fix the mistakes he made.
Shiho did the honor of opening the door and there, Kaito stood still with a smile on his face while holding up a box of lemon pie which he handed to her.
"I came by to visit and to have a word with Shinichi. Do you mind if we?.."
"Yes, of course. I'll leave you two for awhile so take your time fixing things up alright?"
With that, Shiho left closing the door to give some room for the two lovers. Silent filled the room and every second that passes by, the more nervous Shinichi gets. He couldn't even looked at Kaito in the eyes. He knew that Kaito wasn't angry but he still couldn't helped but think that he had disappointed his Lover with his foolish decision.
The suffocating silent was broken when Kaito's footsteps were heard. Getting closer and closer to the detective which in a matter of second, he was pulled into a tight embraced catching him off guard.
"Ah, I missed you so much. I heard you haven't been taking care of yourself. Do you want to collapse while solving a case? Geez you're not a kid now so take better care of your health~"
Shinichi misses this so much. The endless of nagging he gets from Kaito whenever he skips breakfast and heading straight to the crime scene. The cuddles and kisses the magician will give him every opportunity he gets. The grinned he used to find annoying back then and the love he will always shower him with. How can anyone let go of such person?
Slowly, he returned the hugged which brought a smile on Kaito's face. He knew what's been bothering his Lover but he didn't thought it bothered him to the extent of breaking up with him in order to gain the happiness of having his bundle of joy. Kaito was at fault as well, he didn't mean to make it too obvious as to not ruined the surprised but it seems like he was too excited to keep it a secret after all.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking straight and went ahead and did such a foolish thing. I was just.."
"Hey now, it's alright! I knew that you really didn't mean to end our relationship like that, so don't apologize. I think between the two of us, I should be the one apologizing." Kaito said which confused the detective he's holding in his arms. What did he mean by that? He was the one who was getting depressed on his own so why is Kaito the one apologizing?
Kaito slowly pulled away and grabbed something inside of his pocket. Pulling out, Shinichi saw a small blue box with a pacifier patterned ribbon on it.
"Remember my cousin's funeral last month?" Kaito asked which Shinichi nodded. Kaito's cousin on his father side was killed in a hit-and-run while on his way back from work. While this is all happening, his wife who was pregnant back then was rushed to the hospital to give birth to their first baby however, she died soon after the baby was born. It was heart breaking to see their parents mourning over the death of their son and daughter-in-law that they immediately left after the ceremony. Why did Kaito suddenly brought this up-
Eyes widen, Shinichi covered his mouth upon realizing what his Lover's words meant and the gift he's currently giving to him.
Kaito only smiled at him when he sees Shinichi's expression. The reason why he has been constantly glancing at baby products and babies whenever they go out on a date was because soon, after the paperworks are all sorted out and done he will surprised Shinichi with a new member of their family.
Giving his Lover a peck on the lips, he holds both his hand and placed the small box on it which contains a pacifier with a nametag written on it.
"Ready to meet our son tomorrow?"

(6 years later)
"Conan-kun is your father awake yet? If he doesn't get up just give him a kick on the nut and it'll do!" Shinichi shouted from the kitchen who is currently preparing breakfast. After living with Kaito for the passed 10 years now, he managed to learn how to prepare a simple meal which still needs a lot of improving but Kaito doesn't mind the slightly burned miso soup (which he has no idea how in the world that happened) or the half cooked omelette.
"I will!" Conan replied from upstairs which made Shinichi chuckled.
After their 'breakup' 6 years ago, Shinichi and Kaito finally met their son at the Hospital. At first, Shinichi was a bit hesitate to hold Conan, afraid that he might dropped him but after holding him in his arms? Kaito was surprised to see Shinichi shedding tears that made him panicked but also teared up by the thought of the family they will be building. It was a touching moment that even the nurses in charge of taking care of Conan cried a little.
It took a lot of parenting books and their parents to helped around with their growing son but soon, they got the hang of it that 6 years passed by, Conan has grew up to be a healthy and intelligent boy. What surprised them the most is the terrifying resemblance of Kaito and their son, which make sense since his uncle and father actually shared the same eye color. The hair was the same shade as Shinichi which some people suspect that Shinichi himself gave birth to Conan. Of course it was nonsense talk and even if he wasn't the one who brought their son into this world, Conan is still his son that he will cherish and loved with his loving husband.
Placing the last plate on the table, Shinichi suddenly hears Kaito's painful 'manly shout' which he holds back a laugh once he hears the footsteps of his loving husband at the stairs. Soon, Kaito appeared by the entrance of the kitchen holding Conan by the back of his shirt collar, who is shooting his father a 'mom gave me permission' look.
"Oi oi, you should really stopped teaching our son to wake me up like thattt. What will you do if my precious gem doesn't work anymore?"
"Cut it off and get a new one?"
Kaito put down Conan and grinned at Shinichi widely. That looked is somewhat terrifyingly familiar that he quickly made a run around the table but it was already too late. Kaito quickly caught him from behind and started tickling the hell out of him as he laughed non-stop while slightly tearing up from all the laughter.
He laughed along with his detective lover while he looked at Conan trying to helped out his mother being tickle to death by tickling Kaito which made the magician grinned. Kaito quickly stopped and scoop their son in his arms and starts tickling him by blowing on his tiny tummy, earning him a laughed from Conan which was music to his ears.
Shinichi smiled at this moment as Kaito smiled back after pulling away from his son but still carrying Conan in his arms. Kaito and Shinichi covered Conan's eyes which confuses their son as they gave each other a pecked on the lips with Kaito's arms around Shinici's waist.
This moment was something they never knew they will ever experience but it was a precious moment Fate has given them which they will forever treasure and cherish. Their journey throughout their time as fated rivals, lovers, and now as a family? They are both thankful to experience this present and future they will be sharing with their precious son in the picture.

Kaito's Point of View
When I first met him, I didn't know if he will became a hinder with my mission as Kaitou Kid since a detective will only cause trouble in Kid's heist however... he became my light instead. The first time I saw that child, I was immediately fascinated. I wanted to know more as to why he seem so different compared to the detectives I know and soon, I discovered that the child who had showed himself before me was actually the famous high school detective, Kudo Shinichi. At that moment, I felt a connection between us. A Detective who shrunk down into a body of a child and a magician who has a secret identity as a Phantom Thief. Aren't we a perfect match? Our short time together as fated rivals was something that I didn't know could heal something inside of me, the feeling of loneliness I didn't knew exist and the foreign feeling of something.. warmth. The tension between us as Phantom Thief and Detective slowly died down as it was soon replaced with something else, something even the both of us didn't noticed until now.
"A pleasant evening to you, Metantei. I see you're assisting the task force tonight~?"
"Baro(idiot), don't pretend like you didn't know when you purposely sent me a copy of that note last night. Now hand over the jewel, it's not the one you're looking for right?"
With each time our path crossed with one another, I realized what these feelings I felt towards the detective. It was laughable at first but soon, I came to accept and embraced it. I love him, Kudo Shinichi.
I didn't want to be greedy so I hid the forbidden love that is starting to form the longer I spend some time with him, I shouldn't, I'm not allowed to but soon... I gave in. I didn't know it was possible for it grew deeper than before but.. it did. When we finally meet each other during Kid's last heist, I wasn't expecting to see Metantei back to his body. I indeed managed to obtained the drug that turned him into a child but I wasn't expecting to be meeting him this soon, and even during my last time as Kaitou Kid. I didn't once push these feelings towards Shinichi and I continued this even after Kaitou Kid's time has finally ended. I disappeared in the face of the media but not before saying one last thing to him.
"Glad to see you're doing well now that you're back to being Kudo Shinichi."
"It was all thanks to you, Kid. I see you finally found what you are looking for. As a detective I should be arresting you and putting you behind bars however.. as someone who grew fond of you, I will let this go, for now."
I didn't want to but when I heard those words, I couldn't helped but to hoped that Shinichi, too, has fallen for me. I didn't want to reveal everything that night so.. I left. It took a year for us to see each other once again and to think it was a coincident, it was as if fate wanted our path to crossed once more, as a second chance for us to get to know each other without hiding behind a mask. No Kaitou Kid, no Kid Killer, just ourselves and nothing more.
"Surprised!!! Didn't think we'll be attending the same university now did you, Shinichi~"
"You really have the guts to show yourself to me after disappearing for a whole year now huh? Kid."
"Woah! You already had a hunched that I'm Kaitou Kid even before I revealed myself? Well you are THE Kudo Shinichi after all~"
Soon, we actually started living together despite remaining as friends during our 2nd year in College in a small apartment near the University. It was a simple life where Shinichi will be sometimes out solving cases while I stay at home doing the housework and practicing some magic tricks for my magic shows. We also told each other our story, a story nobody will believed if they didn't witnessed it themselves and despite that, we had each other to lean on. It was a bond we build throughout our time as Kaitou Kid and Kid Killer, it was our precious bond that still remains till now.
"Shinichi wake up! We're already late for first perioddd"
"5 more minutes you annoying magician."
It was a life I always wanted to experience with him and to think that every single day I spend together with him will make me fall for him all over again. It was getting harder to hide these feelings I'm feeling towards him but I still wanted to hide it, if I was wrong and we started to drift apart we wouldn't be able to enjoy this life together anymore.
"Uwaa, you sure this is safe to eat? I think I'll- OUCH! ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I'M JUST KIDDINGGGG"
"Be grateful because I'm actually putting an effort into making these for you, Bakaito."
Years went by and after living together for 2 years, It was time. I told him everything, from the time it started to developed when we were still fated rivals to the present day where the feelings I harbor for him grew so deep that I can no longer hide it anymore. And you know what? Shinichi actually loves me back.
"Shinichi there's something I have been meaning to tell you, even before I revealed myself to you I have been carrying these back when you are still Edogawa Conan.. I-"
"Kaito I know.. because even before you knew those feelings existed, mine is already growing day by day. I was waiting for you to admit it all these time since I didn't want to rush you but I guess it took you nearly 3 years to finally mastered up the courage huh? Do you really think I will agree to lived under the same roof as you, a former Phantom Thief, if I didn't feel the same way as you do towards me? You're really an idiot."
But I'm your idiot, my Metantei. Another 2 years went by and we finally decided to lived back at his parent's house in Beika City, it was something Shinichi long have inherited from his parents but he wanted for us to wait until we graduated since it was too far away from the University. I have visited him countless of times without his knowledge back then, standing by the balcony every time I felt like seeing him. I knew that once Shinichi found out about this he will definitely knock me unconscious with those killer soccer balls of his, which I'm very thankful that he's not using them anymore when he return back to his body. It was a perfect life however they had to ruined it.
For the first time in awhile, I had accompanied Shinichi to one of the cases he's dealing with and to think it was a case the Black Organization prepared to trap us. Shinichi wouldn't admit it to me but I know that he is still part of the operation the FBI and CIA had worked together with in order to bring down the Black Organization, and this is the start of it. I know, that's why I came along no matter how many times he protest. Shinichi wanted to be the bait to draw them out, it was a risk he was willing to take in order to end this once and for all. And I'm willing to risk my life in order to protect him from this risk.
Everything happened so fast that the only thing I remembered was that we were close to being cornered. I felt scared, that this might be the end for the both of us but I'm more terrified that Shinichi is here, death's door is knocking and I wanted to be the only one to opened that door. I'm sorry Shinichi but this is where we have to say goodbye.
"Kai..to?"
"Shhh, everything's gonna be alright so stay put and please, stay safe."
"No, I'm warning you don't even think about leaving! Stay-"
"I can't, if I did both of us will die-"
"I don't care! We can think of a different plan to get away from this place so please... don't leave me."
"...I'm sorry Shinichi but I rather die alone than let you come with me."
"DO YOU REALLY THINK I'LL AGREE TO THIS!-"
"I love you, Shinichi."
"..I-I never once regretted falling in love with you, you were the only o-one that has shown me how good it felt like to l-live in this unfair world. T-thank you for loving someone like me, S-shinichi. I will never forget the love and w-warmth you have given m-me. From the bottom of my h-heart, I will forever even in the a-afterlife, love you. My one and only M-metantei."
Third Point of View
Everyone says that when someone is already in the brink of death, their life as they grow up until the very end flashes before their eyes. However, Kaito only saw his beloved Shinichi as he said his final words of goodbye and I love you, with its only witnessed being the moon shining brightly up at the sky, like how Shinichi had brighten up his whole world.
The sirens from both the police cars and the ambulance filled the place where everything happened, Kaito's eyes already begins to go heavy as he slowly feels the pain from the gunshots he have received going numb and soon, before his eyes, he saw his beloved from a distance running towards his direction. Ahh.. it was the first time Kaito saw those beautiful pair of blue eyes shedding tears, he wanted to reached out to him and wiped it off but it's already time.
With little strength left he has, he grinned widely at his Metantei while mouthing something to him before everything went black
"A-Arigat-tou, S-sayonara, S-Shinichi."
(Thank you and Goodbye, Shinichi.)
"Until we meet again, in the afterlife. my Beloved Detective."

Many years later...
Looking in the busy streets of Tokyo, a cow licked haired guy in his 20's is currently making his way to a crime scene while on the phone with one of the police already at the scene. His azure eyes wandering the crowd while still talking over the phone as to not bumped onto someone, which he couldn't avoid when he suddenly collided onto someone's chest.
He quickly ended the call to apologized to the person he accidently bumped onto however he was surprised when he was locked into their embraced instead. He didn't know why but his heart started to raise and he could feel the hot tears forming on the edge of his eyes, it was a strange yet familiar feeling that he didn't know what to do.
Finally looking up, his azure eyes meet a pair of indigo ones which are also in the verge of tears. Right in front of him is a messy haired guy that seems to be around his age, a little taller than him but not that noticeable if they are far apart.
The guy in front of him finally pulled away and apologized for his strange behavior. He didn't know why but when the guy pulled away, he suddenly felt a familiar feeling of emptiness.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know what came to me. I just.. got the urged to locked you in my arms, like you might disappear if I let you go. I'm not making sense am I-"
"No, it's fine. It was indeed strange however.. I got these feeling that you might be someone who is.. dear to me? I don't know it sound strange as well."
The two guys where confused with this unexpected interaction but despite being strangers, the strong feeling that is screaming deep in their hearts and the urged to never let one another go, they didn't want to separate ways yet.
The messy haired guy grinned, which caught the azure eyed guy off guard with how familiar those grin is, pulled out a rose out of nowhere and the few words the guy said made the cow licked guy smiled.
"If it's alright with you, may I ask you out to have coffee sometimes? Metantei."
Clarification: The last part is another life where both of them are reincarnated in the same life they have (minus Kaito's life as a Phantom Thief) and Fate bringing them back together.

Don't, Please [...]

Kaito and Shinichi's love for one another is something forbidden in the eyes of others but for them? It was something that formed the longer they spend time with each other that soon grew so deep that they can never live without one another anymore. It was funny to think that they ended up loving each other in the most unexpected way possible between two rivals, Detective and Phantom Thief, however that is something that made it special. That's why everyone that has known the couple for a every long time was left heartbroken when they found out what had happened to them.

It's already been a week when cases keeps coming the detective's way that it's already impossible to get enough sleep, without the help of Hattori and his most trusted coffees he would be passing out by now. Even if Shinichi did get some time to rest he still wouldn't and would most preferably spend that time in his library to read until the sun goes down. Haibara has scolded him for it countless of times but to no avail, he wouldn't listen.
Finally, after a week of non-stop visits to a crime scene and solving them, he got some time for himself and is now currently locking himself up in the library, not surprising indeed.
With the pile of books on the ground next to the spot he's currently sitting down at, Shinichi is enjoying his time with a book in hand entitled, "The Sign of Four". Anyone can tell that despite the pages turning and his eyes wandering, he wasn't reading. They didn't want to address it since Shinichi wanted to return back to his normal life, acting as if nothing happened and trying his best to return to the way it was... before he had met Kaito.
The detective let out a sighed while closing the book and returning it back to it's shelf. It's not working. He's aware that no matter how many times he pretend that he's alright, everyone knows that he's not. Even right now nobody bothered him because they knew what today was, even Haibara who nags at him whenever he steps in the library didn't appeared.
Shinichi didn't noticed until now how painful it is, how tight his chest is, how heavy his heart is and how much he's bottling everything in. So that's why everyone wanted to leave him alone today...
To let it all out.
The pain that has been building up for a year.
He wanted to forget him, he wanted everything to be buried deep in his heart and the back of his memories for it to be forgotten however he couldn't.. if he did so the only thing that Kaito had left will be too painful for him to forget, their sweet memories together. Before he could even return back to his spot, flashes of memories with his beloved Phantom Thief appears before his eyes.

"...I love you too, you idiot.. ugh- Kaito.." With a broken voice, he whispered those words painfully, saying his name for the first time in awhile is too much for him to handle. It hit him hard, Shinichi will not see him anymore, he will not hear his voice, see his magic tricks, see those grinned that he used to find annoying and.. those eyes that always seem to find his.. Kaito's dead.
And as if a switch has been turned on deep in his heart, he let it all out. While the memories he treasured played itself before him, he let the pain out, the unbearable pain he has been keeping for himself for a whole year when Kaito disappeared from his life, without ever returning back. Breaking down onto the ground, Shinichi screamed the pain out, shouted the regrets he's bearing and cried for his beloved's name with so much longing.. he wanted him back so much that he's willing to give everything up to be with his magician again.
"KAITO!!!"
Haibara couldn't bear to listened to the painful cries of the detective anymore as she left, feeling helpless that she cannot do anything that will soothe the pain Shinichi is feeling. She knows that he needed this, he needed to let it all out before it destroys him completely. It was already shocking that he lived a 'normal' life for a solid year, pretending that everything is alright and in denial with the fact that Kaito is already... gone.
"Stay strong, Kudo-kun.."

"Shhh, everything's gonna be alright so stay put and please, stay safe."
"No, I'm warning you don't even think about leaving! Stay-"

Shelter
[Disclaimer: This Oneshot is inspired from the short film 'Shelter' by Porter Robinson. There are some parts where I changed it so don't expect it to be exactly the same as the short film~]

Kaito has been living his life in this world as far as he could remember. A world where he can control everything with the use of a tablet and a pen, drawing the type of world he desires but as good as it might sound like, the feeling of loneliness can never be replaced with the power to control this world he didn't want. He doesn't know if there is also someone like him, someone who can accompany him and build a world where it's only for the two of them. But no matter where he looks, there's nothing but only him and the world he created.
Watching the empty message on the tablet, the only thing he's certain is the day everything came into existence in this little world of his.
3255 Days.
It's been more than 8 years since his existence here came to life. Kaito doesn't have any memories of how he got here, only the tablet, a small room and the vast white canvas of an empty world, waiting for its creator to form a beautiful art with his hands. Kaito can draw anything that he desires however there was an exception, he couldn't draw another being like him. If he did, this world will only make out a shaped of it from a rock or a plant based from what the world he created is all about.
The first time he opened his eyes in the small room which provided a bed, bathtub, and other necessary things like his clothes and the tablet, nothing else was there except for him. It took him about 3 days to learn that the tablet he possessed controls the empty world around him, which he greatly regretted as a child when he drew a not so entertaining and disturbing world he once saw in his dreams.
Letting out a sighed, he sat up from his bed and let out a yawned while stretching his arms up in the air. His daily life begins with taking a bath, changing into some fresh clothes and then, the magic begins. After taking a bath and changing into a plain loose blue shirt and grey pants, he sat crossed leg on the blue sheet covered bed and grabbed the silver tablet and pen. After thinking for awhile, he starts drawing causing the world around him to changed.
From a plain white world, everything changed into a vast meadow with a field of different types of flowers, a river, a giant tree and finally, a cliff beside a high waterfall. The giant tree is placed by the end of the cliff with a blanket placed underneath it and a bunch of pillows.
Satisfied with his creation, Kaito stepped out of the small room and walk towards the tree with the tablet in hand and lied down on the blanket covered ground. Sleeping would only be a waste of time which is why he sat right up and grinned widely as he starts drawing something.
After its done, a group of white flying creature (dove) starts appearing around him where they're happy to see their master again. This is one of the few things he discovered upon having a strange dream in his sleep. He may not create another being like him but he could make the ones who are a bit different from him, animals from the book he found in the room he's confined in.
It's only been a few hours before he started getting sleepy with the doves resting on his shoulder and head, yawning as he finally lied down on the soft pillows surrounding him and then, right before he could close his eyes and let the tiredness take over him, he hears a voice.
"Kaito."
A gentle whisper of his name was what he heard causing him to sit up straight, looking around to find the source of the voice but despite circling around the tree and peeking down to the cliff, he didn't find anyone. Strange, was he hallucinating? Or was it caused by the world he created? No, for the passed 8 years of being here, it never once created any sound that will form words, moreover a name he only knew from the tablet he's holding.
"Ugh, just who said my name? I swear if I find them I'll- ACKK!!"
Suddenly, he was crashed by something heavy causing him to face plant to the grass with the heavy thing still atop of him, who surprisingly let out a groaned. Kaito shoot his eyes opened upon hearing this, with his heart beating abnormally fast to the possibility of what crashing him right now being what he thinks it is.
"Could it be?.."
Slowly, he lift his head up and turned his head to see a person who looks exactly like him, staring back while equally surprised as him. Azure eyes, dark cowlick hair, pale skin and a confused expression on his face. The bright sky above which cast a shadow from the tree hitting his face and the falling feathers of the dove above resting on a branch made the unknown person crashing Kaito seem... breathtaking.
"Another... me??"
"... Strange, I didn't drew a moving puppet who looks like me."
After the person said that, he stood up and dusted himself with the indigo eyed guy still excited and surprised to the appearance of what seems to be the same being as his. The azure eyed person started looking around and then looked down to the white tablet he's holding which, Kaito only saw causing him to look at the one he's holding as well. Is it possible that there is actually two creator in the vast world they're in? Due to it's seemingly infinite space and wideness, they failed to crossed path due to the great distance up until now? That-
"Who are you?"
With a threatening and curious gazed presence in those captivating azure eyes, the person back away while preparing to draw a weapon that can defend him from the unknown person before him. Kaito immediately started talking before anything bad happens to him, while carefully and cautiously approaching the azure eyed person.
"I'm Kaito and I've been here for 3255 days now. Is it safe to assumed that you're also like me, Mr...?"
"Shinichi. Just call me Shinichi. So there's actually another being like me here huh? Strange, I've been in this world with the same number of days as you but I never crossed path with you, nor this world you currently created."
Shinichi, too, has been in this world with no memories of how he ended up at this place. He was able to quickly adapt and it was fine until 5 years went by when he started to begin getting lonely. Shinichi felt like something was wrong, like he wasn't supposed to be alone here and that he needed a companion to be with him. That day, he started to do anything in his knowledge to find another one like him. From doing the same as Kaito by drawing a person which failed, to exploring this vast world they are in. And then, he finally found Kaito.
He doesn't know how and why but all that he knows before falling from the sky, and potentially killing Kaito from landing on him, was that after waking up from a strange dream, a name pop out of his head which he spoke unconsciously. Once the name came out of his mouth, his world began disappearing little by little and then, he found himself falling down to a pitch black void. Shinichi thought he was gonna die but before he could close his eyes and accept his fate, the dark world around him turned into a bright blue sky where he finally fell down onto the person he has been searching for.
Finally, with a smile on Shinichi's face with the thought of no longer being alone, Kaito let out a sighed of relief and chuckled while rubbing the back of his neck and offering his hand to him.
"Now that we found each other, I'll be in your care from now on, Shinichi~!"

Everything changed the moment Kaito and Shinichi started staying together. The two separate tablet disappeared as well as the room Kaito always stay in when they opened their eyes the next morning. What they find is a much bigger room where the double bed they're sleeping on turned into a king sized bed, one single blue tablet with two pens, a much bigger bean bag and another wardrobe is placed beside Kaito's. It was a changed where the world itself has decided to let them be together, where Kaito and Shinichi can finally stay together in comfort.
During the first week of being together, it was strange with how well they suddenly got along. Like this is not the first time they have meet each other and that maybe, just maybe, they somehow knew each other just before their life began in this world. They weren't sure but just the thought that they finally have someone by their side is more than enough for them, their past doesn't really matter now at this point since they have each other.
Right now, it's already been a month since they met each other which, also, marks their 9 years of their existence here. While sitting down on a giant baby blue bean bag, with Kaito resting his back on it and Shinichi in between his legs with the tablet in hand, Kaito smiled with the warmth contact of Shinichi's body. Who knew he will became this attached to him to the point of feeling something strange and foreign in his chest?
Whenever he sees Shinichi smiling, his heart never fails to flutter. Even if he has a scowl expression on his face whenever he fools around him, the butterflies in his stomach never left knowing that Shinichi, too, enjoys his company, very much. Moving his gazed to the tablet, Kaito raises a brow when he sees Shinichi drawing something. Where is he gonna take him this time~? Little by little, the walls in the room they're in started disappearing as Kaito finally sees the breathtaking world Shinichi created.
A vast body of water can be seen with the beautiful sunset at the horizon, with clouds and the sunray reflecting onto the water like a mirror. He never saw something like this before, however... why does it feel like he has been to a place similar to this? But rather than a beautiful sunset there was-
"The moon."
Kaito muttered under his breath as he stare at the world eyes widen, he definitely has been to this place! But where? And with who?? Suddenly, he sees a flash of memories before his eyes causing him to let out a groaned, gaining the attention of the other male leaning on his chest.
"Are you alright?? Kaito-"
Shinichi's words where cut off when he sees the drawing he did on the tablet disappearing and being replaced with something else causing him to panicked a little and faced Kaito, who is also seeing it. The pain stopped but the changes happening around them didn't. Buildings started appearing in the previous white canvas world and just like that, Shinichi experience the same feeling of falling once more but this time, rather than a dark abyss everything is bright with a mixture of white and blue, with Kaito pulling him tightly in his arms protectively.
Little by little, they started seeing various memories of their past which both stunned them with all of this precious moments they regretted forgetting.
[Memories of the Past]
The very first time they met as the Magician Under the Moonlight, Kaitou Kid and the high school detective in the body of a child, Edogawa Conan a.k.a. the Kid Killer. A duel they didn't knew will be the start of something much more exciting, thrilling and of course... an unexpected passion of love for one another that will soon bloom the longer they meet.
A time in need where Shinichi's cover was almost blown, with Kaito disguising as him to saved him from being discovered by his childhood friend, Mouri Ran. Also the day where they started to feel something strange towards the other, something that makes the empty void in their heart slowly disappear as it was being replaced by the unknown feeling they didn't know they needed... which they soon discovered was called 'Love'.
Every single time they meet at a heist and the an unexpected case while stumbling upon each other, with each moment being the realization that they have let someone in their heart, someone they are willing to welcome with open arms.
The day Shinichi finally took down the Black Organization the same day Kaito found Pandora and taking down an Organization that is after it. Also the day where little by little, they started opening up their hearts to each other without any hesitation.
Finally, the memories they both treasured with all their heart during a trip to the salt lake in the Bolivia, where they waited for everyone to leave after enjoying the view of the sunset, not knowing the breathtaking view of what's to come right after with the bright full moon and billions of stars appearing that night. The day they also conveyed their feelings and ending the night with a kiss under the moonlight.
With every memories they recovered are tears that's streaming down on Kaito's face, with the detective tearing up while covering his mouth upon remembering everything. Their childhood, their parents, their close friends and.. the flame of love for one another.
Kaito tighten his hold on Shinichi when one last memory is shown, causing both of their hearts to ache knowing exactly what this memory is.
The accident.
It was any normal day for them where they're currently out on a date, celebrating their 3 years anniversary however just as they were crossing the road hand in hand, an unexpected car chase with the police officers and a fleeing murderer caught them by surprised. With no time to save themselves, Kaito pulled his lover in his arms and closed his eyes shut as the approaching blinding headlights of the car came hitting the both of them off the road.
The police successfully captured the criminal however... a bad taste was left in their mouth and memories after finding out the reason for their success operation. Kuroba Kaito, a well known magician throughout Japan and even overseas and his beloved lover, Kudo Shinichi, a well known detective with no unsolved case, laying down in their own pool of blood, severely injured in each other's arms, still hand in hand.
Both of them were left sitting down into the dark abyss, with tears in their eyes with the tablet their only source of light illuminating in front of them. After all this time, they have a wonderful past together where their beginning didn't start in this world they consider their home, how could they forget such an important part of their life? Most importantly, why are they not dead?
Suddenly, Shinichi heard a ping noise from the tablet. For the passed 9 years of waiting for such a noise to be heard, he couldn't believed he'll hear it now where they regained their memories. Shinichi doesn't know what to expect but still, he wanted to know it. With his trembling fingers, he pressed the message icon and there, a hologram message appears in front of them.
To Kudo Shinichi & Kuroba Kaito,
We don't know when you'll received this message but hopefully, you two did. It was a tough decision to make after the tragic accident that nearly ended both of your lives. We didn't know if it'll be a success or not but we did our best.
Everyone misses the both of you, we truly do. But since we got our own things to say, we wanted to cut this short.
Please don't worry about us and... be happy.
Right after reading it, multiple messages starts appearing before them with the names of the sender written on top.

Every people important in their lives has left them a message which was too overwhelming for them to read properly. To think they did something that really changed their lives, something that they now think was too good to be true with their memories back. Both of them knew who created this world they now treasure, someone who has been a huge part of their lives that will do the unimaginable just to give them the second chance and freedom that they needed.
"They really did too much for us."
With a trembling voice, Shinichi chuckled as he wipes the tears that has finally streamed down his face with Kaito snickering and loosening his hold around the detective. And just like that, the dark world changed as the familiar vast meadow and beautiful bright sky came into view. Just like the first time they have woke up into this beautiful world. Their shelter that was made by everyone.
Kaito stood up straight and quickly wiping his tears, finally facing his Lover with a bright smile on his face while offering his hand out.
"We got a lot of time in our hands now, Shinichi. Let's not waste another second being apart."
Shinichi smiled back while shaking his head as he remembers the first time they have meet in this world. His Lover didn't changed one bit despite not having their memories back then. Maybe that's why he fell in love with him once more? Grabbing ahold of it, Shinichi answered him back as he tackle the magician on the ground, laughing together as they got up and started chasing each other with the tablet in hand.
"It'll be a pain taking care of you again but, I don't mind. "
"Minna (Everyone), Arigatou. (Thank You)"

Quiet footsteps can be heard to the long dimly lit hallway of an underground laboratory, with a 21 years old scientist opening a top secret door with the use of a card that only has two copies of it belonging to the Professor she treats like his Grandfather. Upon entering, she walked closely to the cocoon shaped machine with wires and such attached to it. Haibara smiled as she sees Kuroba Kaito and Kudo Shinichi resting inside, with wires on their back and hands intertwined with one another as they faced each other laying down on their side.
The accident nearly ended their life but with some miracle, they survived however... they only escaped death by a string when they were left to rely on a life support system that will keep them alive, never to be woken up again. It was a heartbreaking news for everyone which is why Haibara, Professor Agasa and a few of their friends decided to create a world for them. It didn't take long for them to create one however, they needed to use a type of drug that will shrunk them down back to their young selves. The flaw in the machine is that it needed the user to start as a young age for the virtual simulation to worked and with a few discussions with everyone, they agreed to use APTX4869.
"To think you guys are finally the same age as me. I hope you two are doing alright in there, even though 9 years already went by since then, we still missed the both of you. Kudo-kun, Kuroba-kun."
This is the math of their age, hopefully it makes sense LOLOL. I reduced 10 Years of their aged when they took the drug.

During my time as Katou Kid I would not have expected that I will be interested into a detective like you, certinly you caught y attention for when we have first meet each other you were in the body of a child. I was fascinated by your intelligence for a child of your age however that is when my doubts started arising. A mere id like you cannot possibly possessed the knowledge and intelligence of someone who is an adult, as I investigated further I came to find out that you were not a mere kid after all.
Kudo Shinichi, a high school detective of Teitan High who is well known across Japan. After connecting the dots from yor disappearance and Edogawa Conan's appearance, it was no coincidence that the both of you are one person. I'm both amazed and surpised that nobody have discovered your identity but I figured you had your reasns for hiding it, especially explaining the part how you turned into a child. That is why I did not hesitate to give you a hand when your beloved childhood friend, Mouri Ran, had somehow douted your identity.
Since then, you were no child in my eyes but the detective who disappeared. You were a hinder in my heist at first but somehow you mde it exciting to the point that without your presence, the heist will not be that thrilling anymore. You were only someone who should be my fated rival and nothing more but unfortunately, you crawl your way up into this magician's heart. I did not know when and how but I'm certain about this feelings, stealing a target jewel was not my only goal anymore as Kaitou Kid but also stealing a detective's heart who have stolen mine without my nowledge.
Hiding my identity hs never been that easy especially when I'm face to face with someone who has solved every complcated cases that has made his way. We were boh trap to hide our alter ego for the safety of the people that is surrounding us, I understand how hard it has been to you since we are in the same boat. Perhaps that is one of the reason that brought us closer, just having a shrt conversation with you was enough to ease my mind and I'm thankful for that.
I want to apologize to you for disappearing without telling you anything in advance but I do have some great news for you. Kaitou Kid has now retired, Metantei. Let us meet as our persona from now on and get to know each other as our own selves, Shinichi.

To my dearest Kaitou Kid,
From the very beginning I did not like how a phantom thief like you has caught my attention, who doesn't have the slightest interest with thieves. I was irritated and confused, why should I continue to pursue someone whom I know will only waste my time and efforts? Slowly, that was answered every time I go into your heist.
The thrilled and adrenaline I'm feeling whenever I go face to face with you, the codes and cat & mouse chase we have been doing has became enjoyable and fun without the fear of someone dying. It was like you were the cure to the deadly cursed that has been surrounding me. We started it off with a usual heist and to think you were able to figured out my identity as Kudo Shinichi, I wasn't afraid for some reason. Soon, I ended up earning the title "Kid Killer" despite being a child in the eyes of the media.
You were 'supposed' to be just a fated rival of mine but how did it ended up getting deeper? Every heist, every case you are involved with and every time you showed up, why does my heart keep pounding like it craves for your presence? It wasn't like this from the start so how did I ended up developing such feelings towards you? From wanting to put you behind bars to helping you accomplish your reason for existing. Kaitou Kid, who are you?
You are someone who is a walking mystery that I will do anything to solve, some mysteries are better left unsolved and I know for a fact that you are one of them however... I will not be able to have a peace of mind if I cannot solve the mystery called Kaitou Kid. Simply uncovering your mask and revealing the person behind Kid is not enough, I want to get to know you more not as the magician under the moonlight but as the person who is behind his mask.
I will be waiting for your reappearance, Kid. It's been 3 years since your disappearance from the face of the media, I did not know I will be saying this to a phantom thief like you but...
