using some old art to experiment with "how many different b&w textures can I add to my lineart before it loses coherence as an image" for potential future comic reasons.
I think the bit that's hardest is adding any to skin; even though I'd like to tone Rosie's skin darker to match her actual skin color, actually adding tones obscures her facial features, and I think in that case I care more about having an expressive face than about it being the appropriate tone compared to the rest of the image.
