I have linked the trailer by itself though it does not have the colour grading as there was some issues with that today but the side by side comparison does have the colour grading. Overall, I am glad to have done this project it made me appreciate movies that bit more.
Myself @k00277044 and @k00285091 worked on the blooper reel as @k00282421 and @k00285326 worked on editing the actual trailer. Abby thankfully started editing wednesday as the rest of us were filming so she had a good bulk of the work done. We did not have many bloopers just a lot of Ciara taking photos and recording random things but it was still enjoyable debating when is the funniest cut off point of a clip. Emily was in charge of the Ciara montage and Ciara did the sounds for the clips. Over all this project was thoroughly enjoyable and I'm glad to have been with the group that I got.
This was the last shot that we filmed today. In the trailer this shot is actually a hand held moving shot rather than a static one however I just did not pick up on it and we were all wrecked. We also originally wanted to do this in the city but did not have time last Friday after Lucky Lane.
I will me honest, all the scenes we did today were just to try get them done for tomorrow as in we were exhausted and somethings definetly could've been done differently. For example, in this scene that I shot of @k00285326 , I should've set the camera differently as Blaine is more to the left of the shot ratehr than the center and with more time I would have asked more people to be background characters. Other than that, grateful for @k00277044 @k00279003 and @k00284723 for being amazing dancers
We all joined in on making a few versions of the banner for this shot but I decided to make a larger one for the final shot. It took way longer than expected it but @k00282421 had a cute idea of adding our own names and everyone who helped act in it so far which I absolutely love.
Unfortunately, the wind was not in my favour for the outside shot and my fringe did not exist but there is not much time to be nit picky about it. @k00282801 was a big help for playing Steff and doing his few shots.
Luckily @k00284723 had a curler she let us borrow for this shot. I forgot to put a headband on Ciara for the shot but it’s only half a second shot in the trailer anyway.
We had Adam play Steff on the day we went to the Dunraven but we thought it would be beneficial to reshoot the scene not to have @k00285326 play two characters in the trailer. @k00282801 and @k00282818 were kind enough to act in our trailer. We thought it would be comedic that instead of asking around for someone to play Steff’s girlfriend in the trailer that Luke would just wear a wig.
I got to film @k00277044 for this shot and it was fun trying to achieve the movement for it and getting the angle right. We will be cutting it down when we come to editing it but I said I would post it now anyway!
We borrowed Yvonne's lamp from another group and I thought it would be both funny and accurate to put colourful worms on strings onto the lamp to replicate it in this shot. It provided a lot of entertainment.
The photo shot perspective was difficult to get with how close they are together in the scene and we didn't want to make each other uncomfortable but it still gave the same idea. It is a little unfortunate my hair isn't as short as Andie's in the trailer.
I just decided to try put a short clip that we shot with some of the original trailer to see if it runs smoothly. I think personally it looks alright but unfortunately since my Premier Pro is a newer version than the ones at the college it could be difficult trying to convert them into the older version.
We got to shoot in Lucky Lane thankfully today. The staff were very accommodating and we got there at a quiet time so we did not interfere much with the shops business. We roughly did 10 shots here. I did not personally have a lot to do in these scenes bar just look around but Emily and Ciara did wonderfully with their scenes and dialogue.
For Duckie's glasses I just printed on some printable acetate and stuck them onto my own glasses as they are round. We hope with editing we can darken the colour pallet of the shot.
Though we wanted to go to Lucky Lane today we decided with the presentations time wise we would just go tomorrow. Instead we just said it would be more beneficial to do some scenes at the college. So here are our library scenes. We actually found a feature on my phone that focuses on just the face which was a huge help to these scenes.
Today, we plan to shoot all the record shop scenes in Lucky Lane in the city and then afterwards we will most likely return to college to film some of the school scenes.
We still have to figure out when is the best day to film the prom dance scene. Other than that, I think myself we are doing pretty well.
