i do now! put below the cut because it's obviously gonna be pretty long. i'm not going to write every individual subspecies because it'd take forever, but i'll link to a wikipedia page that includes subspecies (if applicable).
i'll also link to this post at the top of my about.
brown bears
subspecies of brown bear
characteristics: second largest land carnivore, rivaled only by the polar bear. thick fur, not always completely brown. usually have a 'mane' of longer fur on their necks. long, straight claws and muscled shoulder hump for digging. varied diet includes insects, fish, carrion, grasses, roots, and fruit. diet is highly dependent on the season.
black bears
subspecies of black bear
characteristics: the most variable in color of all bears. can range from black, cinnamon, blonde, 'blue,' and white. thick fur, no shoulder hump. shorter, curved claws specialized for climbing. smaller than brown bears. omnivorous, diet consists of mostly vegetation and insects but they'll eat what they can find.
spectacled bears
no subspecies
characteristics: black fur with brown/cream accents, may have glasses-shaped markings around their eyes. often have lighter colored faces and snouts. eat almost entirely vegetation, spend a lot of time in trees, solitary but not territorial. the last surviving members of the short-faced bear family Tremarctos.
polar bears
no surviving subspecies, 1 extinct subspecies
characteristics: the largest living land carnivore. medium-long white to cream colored fur, the only bear classified as a marine mammal. eat almost exclusively meat and fish and only live in the arctic region. black nose and claws, small ears and large paws. excellent swimmers.
sloth bears
subspecies of sloth bear
characteristics: long, dark, 'shaggy' fur with lighter colored snouts. may have lighter v-shaped patches of fur on their chests. they've been known to fight tigers to defend their cubs. ears almost entirely obscured by their fur, and very 'rubbery,' slightly droopy looking lips. they eat a lot of insects and honey.
moon bears
subspecies of moon bear
characteristics: very distinct round 'mickey mouse' ears. relatively long neck. 'mane' of longer fur on neck, medium-length dark fur on rest of body. may have lighter colored snouts. their fur is shorter than a sloth bear's, and their ears are not obscured under fur. diet consists largely of fruit, vegetables, small animals, birds, and nuts.

characteristics: the smallest species of bear. short, stiff, dark fur; often have lighter colored snouts and yellowish u-shaped patches on their chests. small ears, may have 'wrinkled' looking appearance. very long tongues. they eat mainly fruits, small mammals, termites, and other insects. they also love honey.
pandas
subspecies of panda
characteristics: very unique looking black and white bears. medium length cream to white fur with black spots around eyes, black ears and black limbs. they eat almost exclusively bamboo. very rare in the wild. relatively slow-moving to conserve as much energy as possible.

Trying new browsers
Hi, don't mind me, it's just easier for me to take notes like I'm talking to somebody, so writing a blog seemed a good idea
So, let's start with the one i used the most in my life...
google chrome
It's a pretty nice browser with lot's of functionality and add ons. I switched it to firefox tho, since it is more private and i just ended up liking a lot. So, let's go to the next one
firefox
Best browser, that's it, that's the review.
Just joking. I first tried it for it's EXEMPLAR privacy settings and kept using it. But it's much more than that. The interface is reaaalllly nice, you don't need to use one of your personal accounts to sync your browser profile, it's nice to have a firefox account, smth separated from the huge amount of accounts i have.
Also, it's really customizable so you can make it look even nicer. You can even choose the default font in case the page doesn't load properly
A bonus for me and any developer reading this, is that firefox has such a good and robust developer tool that i didn't need any extension. Although I'm a beginner developer, I didn't even started writing javascript yet, so maybe Firefox Developer will not be sufficient for more experienced people.
The downfall, tho, is that Tide, the breathing and sleep tracker app that i use, doesn't have a extensions for firefox. And, also, i use a notebook and Firefox demands a good amount of the battery. Which led me to try the following browser and the one i'm using to access tumblr and write this text.
microsoft edge
This is a humiliation. I always had some kind of prejudice against edge and pretty much any windows stuff. Since i've became more aware of privacy and cybersecurity i started to hate avoid big corporation stuff, which is why i was resentful of switching to firefox at first
Edge is reaaallyyy nice. It's not google chrome, it has a really clean and nice interface, it's productivity focused, and, more importantly, is super "notebook friendly" since it has a kind of performance booster mode where it puts unused tabs at sleep. It kinda turns down any tab you're not using to save extra work from your pc. You can also install websites as apps. So I installed google calendar it's much nicer to not have to click more buttons and wait for the browser to start. And a huge plus is the fact that it uses chromium, the engine used to make Chrome work, so any Chrome extension works on edge.
And what you're doing now?
I still love using Firefox, but I need to save battery life so I use Edge for research. I'm self-studying web development and I am a Graphic Design Student that ends up with a million tabs for references for whatever project or deadline I'm working on. But when I'm only browsing the internet, without other programs open like code editors, I use firefox since it's the only software open on my pc when I'm using it, so I don't need to worry about battery life.
I thought about trying Safari or Opera, but I'm so comfortable with my current setup that maybe I'll just keep doing my stuff like this, Thanks for reading and be safe

One of my favorite things about history is how little bits of it are preserved through traditions and mythology and we don’t even notice it. Like how we still say “’Tis the season” at Christmastime. Who says ‘tis anymore? No one, it’s dead except in this tiny phrase. I had a friend once tell me that she noticed the only group of people who could consistently identify a spinning wheel were girls between the ages of 4 and 7. Why? Sleeping Beauty. There are little linguistic quirks that have been around for centuries, bits of slang we use that people 400 years ago would recognize, but unless you showed someone a 400 year old dictionary, they’d never believe it. Whispers of the past are always there.

TW: Mental Illness
I don’t normally post things like this, but I figured if I continue to pretend my life is 100% peachy and wonderful, I’d be lying.
I feel a bit like a fraud when people tell me they wish they could be like me, or they wish they could do half the things I do.
I want to be honest: I’m very mentally ill. I have been for a long... long... long time. This doesn’t mean I’m crazy, mean, or dangerous. It simply means I have problems to work through.
I want anyone who’s ill, physically or mentally, to know that anyone who pretends their lives are perfect and nothing bad ever happens, probably are, in a way, lying. It’s not a bad thing to have a good life, but it’s toxic to pretend that you never have a day where you aren’t 100% productive or even 50% productive.
I struggle a lot with a lot of different things. I struggle a lot recently with even getting out of bed, getting a bath, eating, and especially doing class work at uni. Let alone chores. I’ve been taking steps to get better, I’m getting help from a psychiatrist.
If you’re struggling, you should try your best to get help. I know that it feels like you would be bothering people, or it’s just not worth the effort, but I promise you it is. Surviving is not living. Living is not for just surviving. Living is not laying in bed, not eating for days and crying constantly. Living is not for struggle.
I found this helpful photo on Pinterest, I’m not sure who made it, but I like it quite a lot. The self care photos I find a lot make me cringe. You know the ones, “oh, you’re depressed? Go for a 2 mile jog, drink a gallon of water, have a rose milk bath and then go out with your friends ✨”, which uh, yeah, sure, sounds fun, but doesn’t help. It’s toxic positivity. Hopefully this’ll help just a little bit.
I hope everyone is doing okay, but if you’re not, please get help. Please, do not do anything drastic. There is something we would lose if you were not here, there is something we would miss if you were not here.
