If Niffty is supposed to be bug inspired, I don't know why she doesn't have a bug antenna, it makes the inspiration very obvious. Polka dots help Niffty to play on a word "ladybug", being a literal lady-bug, but she is actually a cockroach.
I leaned into a 50's housewife with the dress. It also looks like a maid uniform.
Since the "atomic age" and "nuclear family" I think that mutant/radiation could relate to her one eye, since with just a bug insp. she doesn't have to be a cyclop. She's a cockroach that survived a nuclear blast. And I made the eye that toxic waste green color. I don't think that it has to do anything with her mortal life necessarily, it just represent her bizzare nature. Also I saw a Niffty redesign (link) that has a UFO inspiration for the same purpose. So yeah, a mutant/alien vibe for the weird girly.
I'm thinking to make her limbs a dark brown or smth, so it's easier to see when they overlap.

I thought Cherri would be the hardest for me, and at first she was, but in the end I'm so happy and proud of this design. It's currently my favorite.
I hc that she died from an explosion. So in Hell her demon form is literally in pieces, hence all the stitches. Although I'm not sure how regeneration would work in that case lol. Maybe if a limb gets separated from the body for too long she does grow it back, but it falls off again and she has to sew it one idk.
Or maybe the limbs regenerate separately and she has to find them if they get lost during turf wars and such. Cause I like the idea that she can't find one of her legs and Pentious makes her a robotic one.
Also she has scarred skin from a burn. I'm starting to think the freckles don't work in that case? I might remove them in the final version.
Yeah I didn't do a proper drawing for the back of the jacket, oops. But the little doodle is basically the design I want, but I just need to fiddle with it.
One intresting thing i've noticed is that they don't show ears on humanoid demons even when they should logically be visible. Idk I find it kinda funny.

I thought that for Alastor a little more historic accuracy is needed, since him being an "old timey prick" is a prominent aspect of his character. His hair/head in general was always giving me trouble when drawing/redesigning him, but I like what I landed on.
The yellow in the eyes is meant to draw attention to them, but I'd also argue that his eyes are not meant to draw attention, instead residing in the back before his smile. Plus the yellow/orange eyes are Husk's thing, so I might change Alastor's back to red.
Three final versions I was considering, plus some additional little notes.

My Hazbin hotel/Helluva boss redesign masterpost😈🔥
I've started making some little redesigns/alterations, and decided to share them. I have a bunch already done, and more I'll make later. I think I'll do Hazbin hotel first and Helluva boss later. They are edits, not drawn in my style, 'cause I had some problem with doing them from scratch. Plus it's cool to see them look like they're from the show.
They all don't have clean lineart yet (maybe never will), and are not really "final". After I do all of them separately, I'm gonna put them all together and do some needed tweaking, and maybe after that I'll clean up the lineart??? idk a part of me wants this to be informal, but I also want to make a complete series of drawings, 'cause I don't think I ever did.
These are made as a reference for myself to be drawn in my style later, and were not made with animation in mind. That's why they can have little details that I would have otherwise left out/simplified.
