Yamaguchi Prefecture Chuuya Memorial Museum Collaboration Write-up
Over the last weekend, I had the privilege of visiting Yamaguchi prefecture with Liz ( @yeouya ) for the Chuuya Memorial Museum collaboration~! The weather also decided it was the perfect time to bless the land with life-giving rain, which meant we tromped through puddles to get everywhere (though on the day we went for the collaboration it was blessedly cloudy).
Yamaguchi prefecture is extremely large and there’s a train about every half an hour if we’re lucky, or one to two hours if we’re not, though Yuda-onsen, where the collaboration is held, is easy to get around on foot. Legend has it that a white fox was instrumental in the discovery of the hot springs in this area, which explains the many, many white fox statues in the place. As an example…
Giant white fox statue right outside the station!
The stamp rally meant we went around exploring the town so we can get our free clear file and postcard, and thanks to Liz, we saw many memorial stones for Chuuya I would have missed if not for her. One of the stamp rally points had a stone with his poem on it, and it was conveniently shaped for me to perch the teddy on.
