watching ally beardsley transition over the past five years has been really wonderful and affirming but also hilarious. they went from looking like siobhan to looking like brennan. truly the entire anglo-saxon spectrum of gender.

Finland has mandatory military service for all able-bodied men. The summons come to every man on the year they turn 18, and your service status is visible on your government records - whether you've done your service, are yet to be summoned, or deemed excempt from service and for what reasons. Even if you're blind, deaf, in a wheelchair and cognitively impaired, you still need to show up for the evaluation, though ideally you'll already have a doctor's note for the occasion that basically just says "I mean just fucking look at this guy", and the military doctor will look at you and go "yeah" and sign you off as unfit for service for the time being.
And if you get your legal gender changed, your military status updates accordingly. When I got my gender marker changed to male in my late 20s, I automatically showed up in the government systems as an adult male who has not done military service yet, and I got summons the same year. However, back then being transgender was a diagnosis that you need a doctor's evaluation on, and being trans was one of those medical conditions that give you the option to opt out of service - in the "you can go if you think you can handle it" way, but you have no obligation to volunteer. So I didn't.
I met a friend recently who mentioned that he's going to wait a few years yet before getting his gender legally changed, so he can age out of the conscription system and avoid summons altogether. I said that I was released from service due to trans diagnosis, and asked if he can't do so as well. He said no - the law has been changed since I transitioned, and now that you no longer require a medical diagnosis to be trans, it is also not a diagnosis that'd make you excempt from the military.
So the finnish government basically just said "if you're a grown man with nothing wrong with you, then you're a grown man with nothing wrong with you. Now grab this fucking gun and do your duty for fatherland."

where are the girls without boobs drawings. I'm seeing the boys with boobs. but where are the girls without them? like. idk. you're supposed to be drawing transfems, right? why do they all look the same? they all have boobs and big hips. even if they have tummy you make sure to give them a slut waist. they're all always perfectly clean shaven. enough of this shit. draw a fucking brick. give her some stubble. don't give her tits. draw a girl with some laryngeal prominence. do SOMETHING to indicate that you find non-standard gender presentation acceptable in transfems as well. ANYTHING.

I want to make something super clear: all of Brennan Lee Mulligan鈥檚 battles are to the death. It is kill, or be killed and that extends to the Rat Grinders.
I like them just as much as the next person but I knew they鈥檇 die. They鈥檙e amazing antagonists and it鈥檚 great that we like them but this is their fate. They were doomed the minute they chose Porter, and yes they chose him and to come back.
Lucy didn鈥檛. It was painful but she didn鈥檛.
The others did. They were doomed by the narrative the moment they got the mark on themselves.

Growing up I was always really skinny but never very fit or athletic. I liked sitting and reading, or playing video games, so I didn鈥檛 have much cause to get out and about.
Then, one summer in my early twenties I found I was just a ball of anxiety. I was in a terribly stressful long distance relationship and didn鈥檛 know how to handle my overwhelming feelings. So I started walking about it.
I lived five minutes from a stunning state park and decided to just go see it one day. I didn鈥檛 make it very far before I was tired. I found a huge set of stairs and gave up. Then the day after that I found a little nature bridge, a fallen log across a stream.
I鈥檇 sit and listen to the water or write. Every day I鈥檇 stay longer and one day I decided to actually huff and puff my way up the stairs. I was rewarded with a gorgeous river view and every walk after that I tackled the stairs to get to the river.
I鈥檇 hang out in trees that overlooked the trail and got yelled at occasionally for startling folks. All summer I鈥檇 take daily walks farther and farther, never running out of park to explore. It was peaceful and did help with my anxiety.
One day near the end of summer I found myself in the shower and decided to treat myself to shaving my legs. It is a very infrequent occasion for me, but sometimes I want legs as smooth as a baby dolphin.
I leaned down to shave my leg and froze. There was a bulge on my calf. I felt it with trepidation. I had a tumor. A leg tumor? Did tumors come in legs? I started to panic, feeling the unfamiliar swell under my skin. How common was leg cancer? I still shaved it.
I turned to my other leg and was flummoxed to see that this leg also had a new bulge. What were the odds of having two tumo- oh my god those were muscles. Muscles I鈥檇 never developed and never seen before now popped up from my calves after a summer of dedicated walking.
I was so embarrassed to have mistaken muscles for cancer that I immediately went to tell my roommates.

I noticed today that the deadname of a client was clearly visible in their client file because it was their legal name, and flagged it for IT. I specifically flagged it as "Hey, if someone sees this and calls our client the wrong name, we'll lose them as a client." IT emailed me back immediately, and it's now invisible except on their contract with us, which the majority of us don't have direct access to, as opposed to their client file.
The reason I flagged it framing it as a loss is that what matters to most companies is money. If you can flag a bigoted practice as something that will lose customers, clients, or get them a lawsuit, that is significantly more likely to get taken care of quickly than trying to appeal to their better nature. I could have flagged it as "Hey, this is going to make our client really upset if they hear it.", which was my actual motivation for flagging it, but if I had, then it probably would have been taken care of in a few days or even weeks, not hours.
Always hit them with the profit argument for quick and decisive action.
