snipped about a minute's worth of blackout from thick cloud cover hiding it
(Best seen in a dark room; there's no image editing/filtering apart from the mylar filter capping my telescope until the disc of the Moon completely blocks the Sun. During totality I reached up and gingerly removed the filter, slipping it back on when the Sun's crescent reappeared. The filter is necessary because lenses magnify infrared and UV as well as visible light like skyscrapers designed by Rafael Viñoly, making solar observing dangerous for both electronics and eyeballs.)

with the news of the people dying at a Travis Scott concert while he did essentially nothing, i felt it necessary to list as many examples as possible of how easy it is for a band to control its fans when shit is getting out of control
While on tour in Australia, for the 2013 Soundwave festival, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park stops mid-song to help a fan who had been knocked out.
Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against The Machine stops a show in Arizona to condemn sexual harassment happening in the crowd
Corey Taylor while on tour with his band Stone Sour stops a show in Australia because of an injury, telling the crowd to back up
Chevelle tells man in the crowd at a show to stop pepper spraying people who were just enjoying the show
Kurt Cobain and the rest of Nirvana during a 1993 New Years Eve concert in California tell off a fan for sexually assaulting a woman in the crowd, and proceed to make fun of him
Layne Staley of Alice In Chains punches and slaps a nazi at a 1993 show in Sweden after the man caused trouble in the crowd. Layne then says "fucking Nazis die."

Thank you to Call the Midwife for breaking my heart by making me watch Miss Higgins have to sit with her dying son who she's only actually known for like 3 days, and then has him die in her own bed just days before the MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD WHICH SHE THEN HAS TO ATTEND.
