the original 2015 graphic novel is more insane than the movie cuz like
exhibit A: nimona expresses liking pizza and ballister at first refuses her asking to order in because the delivery to his mindfuck nowhere lair is expensive . later, when an accident happens and nimona gets upset, he remembers that she liked pizza and offers to order in . if that isnt dad behavior idk what that is (im fatherless)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
exhibit B :
they went to a science expo slash carnival . they went undercover . a stand seller mistakes them for a father & son and they just... went with it . he carries nimona around . what the fuck man
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
exhibit C :
ballister freaks the FUCK out when she gets injured way more than he did in the movie and then proceeds to play board games with her to cheer her up

I was correct. He is my pathetic little meow meow and I support him and his equally puppy-like husband /positive

AU where Miguel ends up destroying the universe wherein he reunites with his daughter, destroying everything and everyone in that known world yes but, all except for one person.
Hobie Brown. The Scarlet Witch of Earth 99934, the Earth Miguel destroyed.
Hobie Brown watched as his world slowly began to dissipate, glitches and holes in his world unraveled everything around him. He could do nothing as those he love withered away into tiny glitching pixels. His family, his friends, his-
His /love/.
Miles was calling him frantically, terrified as his parents disappeared and his apartment crumbled underneath him. Hobie teleported to him immediately, racing to his side as Miles screamed and sobbed for him to /do something, Hobie! Save my parents! They’re gone! Bring them BACK!/
Hobie tried, using his magic he /tried/ to stabilize his realm. He used all his energy into attempting to bridge his world back together, to stitch it together again but-it was already too late.
Miles disappeared in his arms, the two of them huddled on the floor as Hobie tried using his magic to keep him attached to their realm but, how could he keep him here when his world was withering right before their /eyes/? If he couldn’t save his world, how could he save Miles?
He watched as the last bits of Miles slipped through his fingers, turning to glitching particles as they fell past him hands and Hobie lost /everything/. Everything he knew was gone and he had been spit out into some unknown dimension, a universe caked in darkness.
For the longest time, he hadn’t the slightest clue why he was the only one to survive. His universe was gone, why hadn’t he disappeared with /him/? With the one person he’d give everything for?
He had tried killing himself multiple times. Had used his magic to suffocate himself, had tried jumping, burning, overdosing, anything to get it all to /stop/.
Nothing had ever worked.
Nexus beings aren’t meant for death, they cannot die unless a being with greater powers than their own will it so. But, Hobie was stuck in a universe all alone, one overtaken by complete and udder darkness. Nothing could kill him, not in this dimension.
But…perhaps the universe left him a gift.
With his abilities, he could bend reality. Before his universe was destroyed, he had just been on the cusp of learning all he could about his newborn abilities. He soon found out he could travel to other dimensions, open up rifts between new realities different from his own.
Hobie Brown soon got his hands on an ancient artifact called; The Darkhold and used it’s powers along with his own to create a new world where he and Miles were together again, where everything was perfect, and they were /happy/.
He couldn’t save Miles then but, he brought him back and saved him now, wasn’t that all that mattered?
They lived happily for months and Hobie almost forgot about his grief, all his pain.
But, of course, happiness wasn’t meant to last long for beings like himself.
An army of Spider-men from alternate universes had come to stop him, to set the multiverse back in order. They claimed he was corrupting and destroying the “canon”, whatever that meant. In the end, Hobie lost control of the world he had created whilst fighting off all the spider variants and their supposed leader eventually had him cornered.
“You can’t just disrupt the canon as you please,” Miguel O’Hara told him. “Believe me, I’ve tried to live the life I wanted. But, sometimes, we can’t have it all.”
“Oh, yeah?” Hobie growled. “And, who decides that? My world was /destroyed/! Everyone I knew, gone. All my friends, all of my family, they all disappeared and I was left with /nothing/! Do ya’ have any idea what that’s like?”
Miguel sighed and nodded mournfully. “I do,” He told him. “Because I /caused/ the death of a universe when I tried to live the life I wanted and it cost everything.”
A hologram shows up and shows Miguel desperately trying to save a little girl while the universe collapses around them. Hobie’s eyes widen and he watches, ever so slowly going cold, going numb as he realizes-
That was /his/ universe/. That was /his/ world.
And Miguel…Miguel had been the one to destroy it.
Everything he had gone through, all the grief, all the pain, all the destruction, all the painpainpainpain-
It had been because of /this/ man.
“You…” Hobie breathed and glanced up at him, his magic already cracking at the edge of his fingertips and Miguel tenses. “It was /YOU/!”
He nearly explodes everything and everyone in his fit of rage. An anger and /wrath/ like never before overtaking him and he could no longer control himself. He let his magic go wild, attempting to destroy everything in his path to get to the person that /took/ his world from him-
The person that took /Miles from him/.
He doesn’t know what happens next. Perhaps he died. Perhaps he blacked out but, he remembered nothing more after it all. It was as if he was asleep for the longest time before reawakening-years later he comes to find not long after he wakes up again.
Miguel and those Spiders had created a vault to hold him in so he couldn’t escape, a place to keep him /monitored/ and another anomaly had destroyed that vault while attempting to stop an inter dimensional super being such as Hobie himself.
Well, no matter. He was out. No one could keep him caged any longer.
And, he could finally get his revenge. For himself. For his world.
For /Miles/.
And nothing, /no one/, would get in his way again.

I saw the post you made about punk-flower and the patch sharing jacket and I just wanted to ask if you have anything specific that you would like to expand on as I plan to write a fic for it!
I’ve been in a writing slump for months now and you’re post just inspired me again finally so I just wanted to see if there were any more headcannons you had for this idea
This is the post I’m referencing btw!

Ignore the terrible crop job lol
Oooooh thats so cool! Sure!! Go for it!!
There's really not much for me to add other than ✨️vibes✨️and like a general direction/idea. But i do have a few so here's what i got so far:
I imagine that Miles was the first one to ask bring up the patched jackets (i don't really know what they're called) thing for like just a conversation starter at first but ended up getting geniunely interested as Hobie rants explains the whole thing. From its history where its originally a practical way of mending clothes but now means more to the punk culture, to how to stitch it in, picking the right jacket for it, etc.
He would explain each patch in his vest, what they represent, and how he got it. (Or Miles would ask abt it idk)
I like to hc hobie as decent enough at sewing to make shody patches with his own design. Its not good good but he's proud of them enough to show it off
Miles couldn't get his mind off Hobie's rant and some of the shoddy patches that looks so rough and like a snap away from leaving Hobie's vest and he can't get his mind off the fact that Hobie made some of his own patches which made him curious enough to make his own designs.
At first it was just drawings and doodles but then he got curious enough to try embriodery stuff. How hard could it be, right? He was wrong. Embroidery is very hard. (This coming from me who does embroidery for fun) But the learning process was fun enough that he continued on.
Rio absolutely caught him more than once, brings out her sewing kit, and gives him tips and advices like different kinds of stitches and how to fix holes on clothes, happy to have something they can bond over. (Would love to have more Rio content. She deserves the world.)
With his newly aqcuired sewing skills, he offers to fix Hobie's patch that was loose.
Then he showed Hobie the very first patch he made which was a very simple sunflower (or something else if you want) and
Hobie was very normal about that and trying to be casual like: "Can I keep it?" And it flusters Miles like "Uh, yeah, sure. I guess. I mean if you want it—"
Hobie then decided that Miles is his new go-to patch repair guy just so he can spend more time with him
Miles uses a really old jacket from either his dad or his uncle Aaron or heck even from his mom or maybe even from his grandparents. (your pick) Because he knows that you just dont do that on a new jacket! That goes against its whole purpose!!
When he shows Hobie the jacket he intends to patch up, Hobie got so exited that he rips off a patch from his vest and gifts it to Miles to "start him with" or something.
They gift each other patches that reminds them of the other
And yeah. That's it. Thats all I've got haha. Link me up on the fic when (? Or after? Srry idk grammar haha) you get to write it. Really very excited to read how you write my current favorite blorbos!! 💕

Imagine Miles gets arrested because of vandalism and taken to his dads station and his dad decides to let him sit in a cell for a while to learn his lesson. Imagine Miles gets bored and instead of just apologizing to his dad he calls Hobie. Imagine Hobie striding into the police station and bailing Miles out with six different foreign currency’s and leaving without even acknowledging anyone besides Miles. The only explanation Miles gives is Hobie is in a band with ‘Gwanda’. His fathers blood pressure has never been higher, and it only goes up when his coworkers mention Hobies shoelaces two hours later, long after Miles is gone

Thinking of how the Titan showed Luz the first glyph, Light, because she was kind to his son and listened to him, made him feel like his interests mattered when so many others overlooked the little guy and didn’t care about people like him. He didn’t force Luz to painstakingly find it on her own, as Philip did; The Titan freely gave this to her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then the second glyph, Ice, comes when Luz takes the moment to listen to the Titan; To say that she’ll learn on his terms, she’ll respect his body and work with him. Luz paid attention to the unheard son, and now the parent, speaking with and not for him as Philip did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She gets the Plant glyph afterwards by continuing to follow that principle and give his son fun and company…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the final glyph, Fire? Wing it like Witches is a major epiphany for Luz’s development, where it really hits her that she can’t drag her friends around in her attempts to play out certain beloved tropes and story beats she grew up on; In particular, this episode was about her desire to be the underdog hero, dragging Willow into relatively high-stakes consequences for a Grudgby match she did not ask for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sound familiar? I wonder if the Titan was low key afraid of Luz following in Philip’s steps, recognized that similar hero complex… Even if Luz was nowhere near as evil as Belos, well. Philip started off from somewhere, he didn’t begin as a genocidal dictator with countless sins to his name, he built his way up. Maybe the Titan is just being paranoid, Luz is so young after all! But in the end, he hid one final glyph from Philip because of his need for control, and it was admittedly Luz who jeopardized this precaution by giving Philip the Light spell.
Yet in Wing it like Witches, Luz really matures when she steps up and takes responsibility for her recklessness, for subsuming Willow’s problem and low key making it about herself, and what she decides for the group. Luz takes the full consequences of the stakes she set up so neither Willow nor Gus have to, and it’s this mature gesture of self-awareness that prompts them to reciprocate and forgive Luz.
So I wonder if THAT moment was what solidified to the Titan that yes, I really can trust this child. This human, the first after centuries of another who has been desecrating my corpse, bastardizing my name; She truly didn’t know any better, and meant well, teaching Philip the Titan’s last glyph. The first few glyphs were like little gifts, but giving Luz the last one meant she had full access to all of the Titan’s magic, so long as she experimented with glyph combos. And the Titan felt safe to entrust her with something he barred from Philip, because why?
Because Luz got over that fatal flaw of Philip’s; The desire to be the hero at any cost. That proved she wouldn’t follow in his footsteps, she diverged at a crucial point, and it meant she’d never become another Belos. They both worked and studied for the glyphs, but what mattered was the compassion that Luz had, and it was her kindness that began her discovery of glyphs. The Titan could trust his final glyph to her, Fire… But as he’d find out, it wasn’t even his final gift to Luz, either.
There really is this recurring arc of hesitancy from the Titan; Someone who was used, betrayed, and taken advantage of. And knew how easy it was for the same to happen to his son. So to see the little ways in which he opens up, recognizes Luz’s kindness and maturity and responds to each step in her growth… It’s like someone learning to trust again, realizing they’ve really found a friend after all. It’s no wonder Luz is treated like an old friend by the Titan, because she is one, and it makes his final gift and farewell to her all the more impactful.
On a lighter note! I’m just imagining the Titan figuring out how to show Luz the Fire glyph, after deciding he’ll do just that. I keep thinking of him watching Luz in the Grudgby game, cheering her on and giving Luz support by illuminating his last glyph in Boscha’s fire; “Here kid, take this!” It’s such a relatively casual and silly moment too, because the Titan isn’t obsessed with the theatrics and drama of godhood.

I feel like my favorite Sterek trope is "Yeah, but I didn't think you would ACTUALLY do it!"
Where Stiles actually does what Derek tells him to do and Derek absolutely hates it. It's a surprisingly versatile trope.
1. Imagine the pack is infiltrated by a shapeshifter. Not only can it look like anyone, it can copy their scent, too. At some point, Derek tells Stiles, "It's too dangerous. Stay in the car." And Stiles just fucking does. Immediately, Derek is dragging him out by the neck, demanding to know where the real Stiles is because "Stiles would never 'stay in the car'. Especially if it was dangerous."
2. Or imagine Stiles is just not having a very good day and during a typical argument at a pack meeting Derek says "If you don't like it, you can just leave." Stiles thinks to himself I don't have to put up with this and walks out the door, leaving a stunned Derek behind.
Later Derek shows up in Stiles' room asking, "Why did you leave?"
"Um, because you fucking told me to?"
"Yeah, but I didn't really want you to go."
"Wha-? Then why the hell did you tell me to leave?!"
"Because you never do what I tell you to! I didn't think you'd actually leave! I thought you'd fight me on it like you fight me on everything!"
"So, you really want me at pack meetings?"
"Of course, I want you there."
"Are you sure? I'm just going to disagree with everything you say."
"I know," Derek says quietly, "That's why I want you there."
3. OR! Imagine that after dealing with the Nogitsune, Stiles stops talking. Not completely, he'll answer questions or relay information about cases, but he doesn't ramble. He doesn't yammer or rant. He doesn't get passionate anymore.
And it absolutely destroys Derek inside, because, as annoying as he could be sometimes, when Stiles talked, he was animated. He was excited and full of life.
It reminds him of the dead quiet after the fire. A whole house of bustling people, suddenly hushed. It's a silence so loud it makes his ears ache. It honestly hurts.
Derek sneaks into Stiles' room one night to confront him about it when it gets to be too much.
"Talk."
"What?"
"Talk. I need you to talk to me."
"About...what?"
"Anything. It doesn't matter. Tell me about your day. Tell me about what you ate this morning. I don't care, just talk."
"Why?"
"You've been too quiet, lately. It's driving me crazy."
Stiles huffs. "You're the one that's always telling me to shut up. I would've thought that you'd be overjoyed."
Derek scowls hard, shaking his head. "It's too quiet. I can't stand it. I just...tell me something I don't know...Please."
Stiles bites at his lip, hesitant and unsure, before opening his mouth. "Um...I...I was thinking of getting new shoes lately?"
Derek nods, trying for encouraging. A tenseness in the muscles of his chest slowly begins to loosen. "Tell me about that."
"Uh...okay."
They sit there across from each other. Derek continuing to ask questions about Stiles' life. About what movies he's seen, what books he's read, what college he's looking into.
As he continues to talk, Stiles slowly grows more earnest as he starts talking about anything other than the past year, becoming more at ease as he notices his rapt audience. Derek thinks that maybe Stiles has missed speaking to another person too.
It isn't until Stiles starts going off about all the flaws of the national fingerprinting database in his familiar flail of limbs that it feels like all is right in the world again and Derek can finally breathe.
