Every time I think about the Tree of Feelings I can't help but be a little underwhelmed at how the most popular depictions of it is just. the tree. on a hill. surrounded by miles of nothing but grass and maybe a few houses in the distance.
Yeah, no thanks. I'll just go with my own interpretation on this one
one time a guy i know whose girlfriend was heavily pregnant didn’t tweet anything for a whole day so i texted him ‘congrats on your baby’ and made him think i had some kind of baby precognition
I know I do a lot of "your specific ass USAmerican experiences are not universal" posting but to counter it more positively I should start doing more posting like my extremely specific Finnish experiences are somehow universal,
Willow and the Dragon Girl, first official art? Yes I think so!
These are all the main characters you'll see and interact with in the game. <3
From Left to Right, Bottom to Top:
Spaniel, Fresh, Bug Girl, Dragon Girl, Willow, Snowshoe, Bellis and Neon!
You get to play Willow, a girl playing the hero of her story, to fight and defeat the evil Dragon girl! Go to the outskirts of town where the big kids hang out, and begin your journey to save the world!
(Before I start: do NOT search out this comment and harass them, this is my art, let’s me sort it out, not you guys)
Hey guys, friendly advice from someone who’s been an artist for 6 years,
Don’t do this vvv
I’d like to preface that I myself don’t mind this comment, it’s harmless and most likely from a place of good intent, but it is a good opportunity to talk about something not enough artists talk about;
I’ve been on the receiving end of unsolicited critique several times before, and seen many other artists who’ve revived it as well,
Critique is an amazing tool and I recommend 100% getting someone you trust or an artist more experienced in the aspect you’re learning to critique your art, but only when YOU ask for it
I am very well aware that I draw Sans’ legs chonky compared to the rest of his body, this is an active decision as a part of my style, but I also know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea,
That doesn’t excuse anyone from telling me how I draw is ‘wrong’, even if you’re talking about true anatomy, my style is more anime/cartoon leaning tha realistic, I don’t want to use realistic proportions, he’s a magical skeleton, I feel creative liberty is allowed here
But the important thing is, I really, genuinely, liked the art before it was critiqued, but now, despite me logically knowing nothing has changed, a small part of me now hates my style and hates that art because it’s been deemed as ‘wrong’ in another’s eyes
I’ve seen many artists give up art entirely and deem themselves worthless, or change their art so it reflects what others want and not an expression of themselves, because they were told how they draw is wrong
Art is about expression, joyful, desperate, anguished, even NSFW art is drawn from passion,
You can tell when an artist doesn’t care about their work because it comes off as stale and shallow
Being told you art is wrong, pointing out mistakes, even if it eventually helps the artist grow from it, is soul crushing and career ending
What is a sentence for you could be devastating to someone else, you don’t know their art journey, they may be a beginner, or an experienced artist attempting something new,so don’t judge them for their mistakes
Ugh, this turned out ramble and I don’t think I did a very good job at explaining what I meant so,
2LDR: Don’t Critique artists or art without the artist themselves asking for it, it’s rude and just poor attitude
