hiya, not a bother at all!

theres a hell of a lot more to it than this and im definitely still learning and practicing, but i basically break everything down into simple shapes or gestures that my crazy messy brain can understand. but just keep in mind that this is all just how i personally do it, and i am nowhere near a pro😭 but if it helps a little im glad!

currently ive been using the box method a lot which really helps, and for that i just draw the head, torso, and pelvis as three boxes! boxes work better than just ovals or circles, because when you draw in different perspectives it gives you a little bit more of an insight on how and where the rest of your limbs/features will be placed, as well as dynamic poses etc. you can kind of change up the torso box to look more like a ribcage if you find that helps you out too

for the pelvis box i always draw lines indicating the crotch/what kinda looks like undies. this helps a lot with figuring out where the thighs go and it kind of serves as a little guideline for connecting the rest of the body. for the torso i also draw two lines from both sides of bottom of the neck down to the armpits like below kinda

i find that this helps a lot (especially with masculine bodies) on drawing the chest and also helps you connect the shoulders, and the junction between them. feminine bodies are basically the same lmao, the only difference is depending on the character once you start drawing over the boxes with the actual outlines of the body they can be veeery slightly more curvy (although they dont have to be, again it depends on the characters body type!) i feel like the example below kind of helps show the whole breaking down into shapes or basic form ideas. keep in mind that limbs are never really completely straight (just like vivid bad squad isnt) whether its a masculine or feminine body! my style exaggerates and simplifies things often to help give off fluidity, so if that works for your style you can totally do that too!

another thing i do often is studies from irl AND other’s art. sometimes people will tell you to only study from irl references when it comes to anatomy but i honestly dont agree because seeing how other artists you take inspo from simplify and draw different parts can help you see how to simplify them yourself in your own style! i wouldnt just do one and not the other though, especially not studying from only other people’s art and never irl no matter how exaggerated your style is because every artist makes anatomy mistakes too, and once you do know proper or at least decent anatomy you then can kind of break it down to fit your style (also dont study from those wack ass girl = circle male = square pinterest tutorials. coughs and looks around. they wont help you trust i was a victim) below is just an almalgation of random studies ive done and thought give a decent idea of how i do it at least

i also do a lot of nude studies! not nsfw, just non-sexual nudity! i find nude references on google dot com and i kind of just draw what i see, or do gesture drawings. its a pretty good way to see how all parts work together without the restriction of clothes to make you guess, especially if youre having trouble with the undie parts…speaking of gesture drawings those help a LOT too if you struggle with fluidity in your drawings and want more movement weight or flow in them
