based on what quinn hills said on twitter earlier about diversity (I love hermitcraft and what I'm talking about doesn't mean i don't love it, but nothing's perfect!):
Hermitcraft is server full of mostly cishet white men, and the server would benefit a lot from a more diverse cast. Representation is great for all the reasons representation is great ANYWHERE: it keeps the bigots away, it gives marginalized people someone to look up to, it brings more diverse viewpoints... Fortunately the mcyt community online has gotten a lot better at this since the early 2010s, but hermitcraft still kind of looks like some of those old servers. As Quinn said, the hermits need to continue to make an effort for diversity, especially when they add new hermits.

the concept of "lore" ruined discussion of mcrp because like. people use it to mean some kind of weird hybrid of plotline and worldbuilding but ONLY if the server is drama-focused otherwise it doesn't count i guess.
so you get people saying like. hermitcraft isn't a lore server. smplive isn't a lore server. sdmp isn't a lore server. and it's like yeah this is true because "lore server" is a meaningless slop category you guys made up. they very much have plotlines and worldbuilding though 💀

This reminds me of the Puppet History episode on the dinosaurs and the made me cry so hard
ive been thinking ab the themes of outer wilds again, and the line "the universe is, and we are." and i noticed, nothing in the game is malicious. the closest thing is the fish and theyre just hungry, or the owlks bc theyre scared, and even then they only kick you out of their simulation.
all of the ways you can die is just nature. the caves fill with sand no matter if youre there or not. the sun will explode no matter what anyone does to stop it or even to cause it. the interloper exploded bc the pressure was too much. none of it is out of malice. the universe is a dangerous place, but that doesnt mean its hostile.
you are going to die no matter what. take that life and do what makes you happy.
the universe is, and we are.

thinking about how timber hearth was already doomed whether the universe would die or not due to that dark bramble seed. really makes you wonder how the hatchling would actually react to that information. hey, your family and entire species are going to die via supernova but at least your planet wasn't torn apart by a rogue seed !!! god who WOULDN'T get fucked up by that. everything is so messed up, then i remember that it's just the universe doing its thing and shit just happens sometimes. falls to the floor and a puddle of tears forms around my body
