I figured out why RandROTT maps crash Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition. And, honestly, it's pretty stupid.
Hopefully, New Blood does something about this, but I have my doubts. They seem disinterested in fixing things that actually need fixing with the project, and since this is such a fringe case of a bug, I don't see it getting fixed. Ever.

I was going to go with a Firefox fork, but simply put, there are certain Extensions which have no Addon alternatives, such as Text Blaze, a keyboard macro Extension. Try as I might, nothing suited my needs.
Guess Chrome has me by my pants. I'm stuck with it. Lovely.

Apparently, changing Customize Chrome Side Panel flag in the web browser's settings causes the icons to misalign. Wooooow. Nice job, Google. You absolute mental midgets.
Unfortunately, turning this flag off also makes the user interface look like god damn absolute ass. So, that's lovely.
Maybe it's time to find a new god damn browser.

I made a rash decision. After six days of dilly-dallying, I finally agreed to the updated terms. My decision was three-and-a-half-fold.
I use Discord, like, pretty regularly again.
Blocking the "agreement" on Desktop also blocked certain key features of the client, like pop-ups on pictures and things.
I can't see me, an everyday user, wanting — much less needing — to litigate against Hammer & Chisel, Inc. Discord, Inc. or its associated companies for any reason.
I feel like opting out would paint a target on my back. I use Discord, but I sure as hell don't trust Discord, Inc. Plus, I'd need to do it every single time they changed every little thing. Not worth my time or effort.
So, yeah. I guess I'm weak and can't live without it. 🤷♀️
I don't remember having to do this more than once. And I thought my agreement going forward was implied the first time I agreed to use this service?
Also, if these updates are so important, then why not just list the summary in the pop-up so I don't have to go web-surfing for answers?
... oh! Because the "summary" page is absolutely rubbish. I see.
Man, to think I used to trust this company. "Skype-killer", indeed.

I recently purchased Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition and I encourage you to do the same if you want a really freaking good semi-sequel to the original Wolfenstein 3-D (it originally was going to be a sequel, in fact!), but both preserved and enhanced for modern consoles. Like, seriously. Just check out Civvie 11's video on it.
Anyway. This port is the best. Except… well…
This is the entire pool of Comm-Bat levels. 10 levels. That's it. To put this into perspective, the original MS-DOS game, right out of the box, had three times as many maps at this remaster.
On top of that, the levels they did use aren't all from the base game. Five are from the original game, one is from the first upgrade, two are from a free level pack made for a deathmatch tournament in 1996, and the last two are completely brand new. That's… eclectic.
I would also like to point this out:
All of the original level packs are included with the game. The game just… doesn't use them. After doing a quick test, it turns out that the original 𝚁𝚃𝙻 and 𝚁𝚃𝙲 files aren't even necessary for the game to run. The game only uses the "𝙴𝚇.𝚁𝚃𝙻𝚇" and "𝙴𝚇.𝚁𝚃𝙲𝚇" files for its level biz. So, why have the original files in this remaster if they're completely useless? Just as a bonus for MS-DOS nerds like me?
(I already had all of these files with my original install, though…)
To the best of my guesswork, it would appear that the reason the Comm-Bat map pool is limited is purely because no one at Nightdive Studios has gotten around to compiling the whole lot of them into one file yet, or even multiple files. It's also worth noting since custom stuff hasn't been enabled for multiplayer yet. So… yeah.
(Oh, and custom single-player maps support is very… wonky, too.)
Lastly, here's a quick breakdown of level distribution, for the curious:
The HUNT Begins (Shareware Episode) - 8 Levels
Registered (Standard Edition) - 22 Levels + previous 8
Registered (Powerpack) - 10 Levels + previous 30
Registered (Site License CD) - 14 Levels + previous 40
Reject Level Pack - 20 Levels (and 1 joke level)
The HUNT Begins: Deluxe Edition - 3 Levels + 8 Shareware levels
Ohio RTC Pack - 4 Levels
Ludicrous Edition - 8 Old Level, 2 Levels

I don't really pay much attention to the likes of DeviantArt, but I just took notice of something they're providing now.
Yeah. DeviantArt apparently has its own AI art generator, now. Boy, if that ain't a kick in the ass, I don't know what is. That'd be like if Bandcamp offered AI-based music generating services that could be used to make full albums based on a few keywords.
I could not have predicted this, but God. Things like this just reinforces my believe that I was right in leaving when WIX took over.
